I am amazed how you play the double bass in high heels
I was coming to say the exactly same thing haha. Double bass on heels is double badass.
I know quite a few female drummers who would be really envious of Ami because of this
A few of them actually tried it and found it it really difficult to work the pedals while in heels
It looks neat and all, but her double kick form is toe-forward (like many) so it's not like the heels would be getting in the way in the first place. Her feet are going to be raised up anyway. Essentially, she's getting the showiness of wearing heels at little actual cost. The only awkwardness is from wearing shoes while drumming at all.
Perform heel-toe kicks at twice this tempo in those same heels to some Fleshgod Apocalypse and then it won't be pure gimmick.
I play heels up anyway. Kind of like that. I don't think I'll be doing it in high heels though...lol

I love the new lineup. I was lucky enough to see them live in Chicago in 2018. Ingo is by far their best drummer imo.

Thank you for not dropping a single 8th note on the hi hats or ride cymbal in between cymbal crashes. Excellent muscle memory on the snare rim shots as well after hitting a crash. So many drummers over look that.

@@dam7rifeet fingers always need to be in a small move and the angle that high heels create are against for steady, easy playing and stamina, watch all fast drummers, are idiots that play with flat and flexible shoes ?
@@yellow-powerftw9058 My 20 years of drumming experience and Ami's videos beg to differ. You may want to watch a Neil Peart video or two, and see how he played the bass drums. Hint, his heels were not a factor.

This is seriously the best take on the pre-chorus fills that's on UA-cam. No other cover even came close. Most had the bass drum on point and were hitting the cymbals ok, but those fills were messy as hell.
This cover, however... pretty much perfect.
