I love the way death of soldiers is portrayed in these games, you never knew who was going to buy it in the first game and stuff like Rivas dying holding his own throat from a sniper shot and Obrieski just unceremoniously sniped and falling from the church tower, along with others, it was different to me then other WW2 shooters where so many times your buddies are making the ultimate sacrifice or taking down a bunch of Germans with them, death in war isn't glamorous and I love how unapologetically this game displays that.
Yea, it's really hard to actually "kill" someone during a gunfight, especially the people who properly trained to fight AKA soldiers. You can notice how many shots it takes to actually eliminate a German two man group in this game which is very realistic!
The first Carentan mission was so hard it took me 2 hours and lots of dying to complete on the easiest difficulty and I barely made it with everyone in the squads dead and I had very low health so I had to destroy the tanks and factory all alone at the end of the mission…it was a nightmare xD

Friendly tip: You need to have your Fire team provide covering fire at another group once the first one is suppressed. Otherwise, your Assault team will get butchered at the first part.
By coincidence, I just finished this game just 2 days ago. Tom and Jerry is relatively easy compared to what comes before and after it. I still hate those STG 44 wielding soldiers to this day. Just glad that the ones fought in Tom and Jerry are only mostly armed with Kar 98s.
Looking back at this game now, using small unit tactics and flanks wins you the battle, I never appreciated that as a kid on PS2 but I wish we could have something like this now on PS5
Omg yes, dude as a kid I turned the tint all the way down on my tv just to see what I was doing. The first Carentan mission sucked on console, just cause of lighting.

Baker is known to have very slow reaction times, like in Hell's Highway where it takes him about 10 seconds to realize the town is being bombed

I think they should go for pincer move...and attack from the rear.Group B must then attack them from the northern flank...

Band of Brothers and Brothers in Arms has sequel called Tae Gui Go: Brotherhood of Arms set 5-6 years after D Day. It's set in Korean war.
Great memories playing both games. Attention to detail especially with the first one. They were well ahead of the times with gameplay.
