the most confusing thing about this film is that the first film apparently took place in the '60s, where Fritz was a college student and would have been born in the '40s or '50s, but in this film, Fritz was shown to have already been an adult in the '30s.
Could possibly be because of the way a cats lifespan works in real life, cats are actually "children" for a very very small part of their life. childhood stages happen much quicker than the yong adult stages of their life, technically he could still be a young adult in the 30s and still be a young adult in the 60s because the young adult stages of life for a cat happen very slowly so they can breed for a longer period of time to have as many kittens as possible for evolution or world domination. I guess Don't think of his lifespan working the way a humans lifespan works, in this world its possible a cat could live for hundreds of years. I mean it's just a thought, it could be a mistake entirely but I also think this movie is showing his 9 lives and they don't all happen at the same time or in the same reality necessarily which also could throw time off.
Yes. Duke was the best character in the first movie. He saved Fritz at least twice and then Fritz turns around and gets him killed, then forgets about him. He's a little bastard.
A lot of people who into counter-culture really criticize this movie. I dunno why, it's still better and more entertaining than 90% of movies I saw, I rather liked it.
as stupid and pointlessly disgusting as this movie was, I can't help but find it slightly sad that this was the end of Fritz's legacy as an animated character.
I think its better that it ended here. The fact that it wasn't milked makes these movies and the original comics more valuable to me. They're one of a kind
This movie is ok but kind of annoying. Especially with Fritz's wife ( who is- I'm guessing- not Winston from the first film?) bickering all the time. Who wants to hear arguing through almost an entire movie in the background? However, the animation and the music is great. In my opinion the first film is a lot better though
Fritz is imagining stuff because he is high and having daydreams about stuff. Ex- when Fritz's soul leaves his body which is still on the couch in the beginning of the film, he's in a sort of dream where he invisions 9 adventures he goes on; therefore the title The 9 Lives Of Fritz The Cat. So Duke isn't really there, it's all in his "dream".
I wish they brought the other characters back like Winston Schwartz, Herriot the lizard, Blue and the pig cops. I didn't like any of the new characters in this movie, because they are not memberible or interesting at all.
i can kinda remmeber every like line in this trailer without watching the trailer for months espically these chicks knows where it's at by the time they're eleven. and yes fritz i guess they are they are
Why they had proper grown up animation b4. Animal Farm Victory Through Air Power and Fantasia all pre date this are all far more mature than adult and sophisticated than anything Bashki could come up with (a pig with it's penis out really?) This is why I contend that the above mentioned 3 films plus A Waltz with Bashir and the painted Vincent Van Gogh movie are the only true adult cartoons (ie something aimed for over 30s not 15 year olds who think swearing and sex are funny cause they are "taboo" )
people criticize it because the damned author r crumb didn't want this movie to be made so badly he killed the character beforehand hahahaha....although i too enjoy it
He didn't. That's his soul being free. Then somehow he came back right there for a bit. Fritz saw, than he was surprised. After a few minutes, he vanished.
@1Koakuma1 nah yiff is still as funny now as it was then. crows shooting heroin in a trashcan and cops as pigs were nice touches as well... where it's at

I know...
It's crazy how cartoons aren't completely real in every singe way. 😭
Maybe he was just held back.. like a LOT
I’m looking to be a college student soon and I’m not too far off from my 30s.
Yes. Duke was the best character in the first movie. He saved Fritz at least twice and then Fritz turns around and gets him killed, then forgets about him. He's a little bastard.
Bakshi wasn't involved with this, so I'm legally inclined to ignore this one. "Heavy Traffic" is the preferred spiritual successor to OG Fritz.
Finally saw this on Netflix! Love how none of it makes sense and it's just all what Fritz sees when he's high
since when
@@snitchinghackingnt6826the early days of Netflix were like the Wild West. Literally anything could be on there
Hahaha, same. Heavy Metal and Fritz The Cat were cartoons that corrupted my innocent mind.
I'm still waiting on the third movie, *FRITZ THE CAT IN THE 21st CENTURY.*
This movie traumatized me as a child O_o
And yet I still watch it U_U
I love this fucking movie. That gritty, grimy 70s vibe is rad as Hell.
This is the adult version of Tom and jerry.
R.I.P. robert taylor
Mmm hmm.

THEY KILLED FRITZ!!!
?
they killed him in the comics first :)
@@kalopsiasangels2105 r/wooosh
Well, I'll ask WB if we can make a 3rd movie of fritz the cat and be for all ages. It will be a PG rating this time.
THOSE LOUSY STINKING YELLOW CORPORATE HACKS!!! THOSE HORRIBLE ATROCITY-FILLED VERMIN!!! THOSE DESPICABLE ANIMAL WARMONGERS!!!
They weren't kidding bout the freaky part!
It was gina. Gina?! She don't got the clap. She does now. lol classic fritz.
great movie... I love when it stops being a cartoon and turns into a psychedellic light show
The first animated film to be rated R by the MPAA.
After this movie, Crumb brought him back in one of his comics to kill him...
He did, but that was in response to the first film, not this one.
I actually enjoyed this one much more
i was just looking for trailers to find movie to watch with my little cousins, i clicked the wrooooong one, but im watchin this one layter
A lot of people who into counter-culture really criticize this movie.
I dunno why, it's still better and more entertaining than 90% of movies I saw, I rather liked it.
And to this day, Ralph Bakshi himself never acknowledges or even remind us that this movie even exists.
And so... I watch the trailer of a movie abpuut 40 years after it was created.
Nice.
Well now he's acting like the pink panther now
Robert Taylor was an animator for DePatie-Freleng. It really shows here.
We need more movies like this!
The Inspiration of conker's bad fur day and live and reloaded
Wow. Censor beeps in movie trailers in the 1970's. How fucked up is that? 1:44
+Anthony Lorenzo Perez This is more like a green band trailer. If uncensored, it would be a red band trailer.
as stupid and pointlessly disgusting as this movie was, I can't help but find it slightly sad that this was the end of Fritz's legacy as an animated character.
That's true. 🙁
I think its better that it ended here. The fact that it wasn't milked makes these movies and the original comics more valuable to me. They're one of a kind
Neither Ralph Bakshi nor Robert Crumb had ANYTHING to do with this movie. Not at all.
This movie is ok but kind of annoying. Especially with Fritz's wife ( who is- I'm guessing- not Winston from the first film?) bickering all the time. one of the first animation R rated films
But Duke died in the first film, how is he here?

Man the sequel to Puss in Boots the Last Wish got wild.
Fritz the cat need remake animation film with R-rated
It's something else
Without Fritz the Cat, we wouldn't have South Park or Drawn Together (we'll ignore the shit stain that's Family Guy, mind).
Don't forget Felidae and Akira
I also enjoy American Dad too. Duckman is another awesome adult cartoon.
Duckman is so underrated .

Family Guy is cool
That Risque Rascal - That Far-Out Feline.
great interpratation of a stool pigeon
@nintendopet114 If Fritz can survive being blown up in a power plant, why can't Duke survive a bullet to the chest?
Was that Duke?
AndyTom yes
watching this high..
@nintendopet114
his ghost/spirit/whatever comes back to give fritz a revelation or something like that
people criticize it because the damned author r crumb didn't want this movie to be made so badly he killed the character beforehand hahahaha....although i too enjoy it
How can I see this ?
@nintendopet114 He does but Fritz sees him in one of his nine psychedelic dreams he has in the movie...

I don’t think a lot of people were asking for this movie tbh 🤷♂️
Childhood
Grindhouse Cinema Database: Do you happen to have the tv spot of this movie?
@MissMarientose .....You watched this as a CHILD!?!
....WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?!
@LadyLotus74
Actually, I meant after the leader says "What's this?" the other guy says something else.
Breaking news for a message of real importance
"I just wanted to be a prostitute"
9 times less profitable than its original
holy fk there was a show like that?!
We know R. Crumb repudiated these films based on his character. But did he take the money?
R. Crumb did get residuals, and once claimed to pay part of his back taxes in the 80s with a well-timed check.
looks good tho :)
What's the Jazz song from the beginning and ending of this movie?
@mnp654321 It's rated R.
And the first was rated X.
Either rated X or rated NC-17.
@ishouldplayzelda watch the original first!
...Far out.
@Ryanchopper12 From what I've heard, the sequel aimed more for political humor which probably made a difference.
:P
I'm a furry too to be honest xD.
So....
How did Duke survive from that shot, in the first film.
He didn't. That's his soul being free. Then somehow he came back right there for a bit. Fritz saw, than he was surprised. After a few minutes, he vanished.
i know right
This movie is not for children. This rate is R when you are over 18 to watch this?
+Angelos Procopos Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Rated R for strong language and sexual content.
This movie on acid is gnar
damn that cat a pimp :)
70s peak trash! Love Fritz!
I have several questions.
Is this movie as good as the first Fritz the Cat?
@MissMarientose
oh l know what you mean :))))))
fuck what did i go wrong
back when yiff was okay.
How does this compare to the first movie?
@nickthepick120 he's a ghost in this
LSD TRIP !
Nine times les mature
lol trippy ass shit
@ConnDevi88 I third that.
I loved it. I liked better than the first one.
1:44 that’s what they used to sound like?
apparently so. when I saw the movie itself on the internet, that scene didn't have bleeps.
Is this movie just as good as the original?
+Epic-Evan not at all, it's just a bunch of stories
non related to each other, but it also open up
some stereotypes and feeling of early 70s in USA.
+russianfunkerroma So basically it's just like the first one
Yes, you have watch it with a open mind

nah yiff is still as funny now as it was then. crows shooting heroin in a trashcan and cops as pigs were nice touches as well... where it's at
What is that guy saying at 1:15?
they fired robert crumb.
???? For kids over the age of 19??? Thats what this trailer gives me LOL.
This movie is for 18 year olds. The first one is for 21 year olds.
I don't think they spawned the furry fanbase xD. I was making a really bad joke. Sorry :(.
God the 70s were disgusting
omg this is by far the weirdest movie i have ever seen
Negative video quality is horrible
Bakshi followed this up with the dreadful Lord Of The Rings cartoon. Nuff said.
@ICETEAPRODUCTIONS1
Hmm sounds like this film could be dodgy seeing as sequels usually don't do well
