Kinda sad watching this movie after the first. In the beginning of the first one Fritz had so much potential. But he let his ego and laziness take over and a decade later he's homeless on the streets talking to some drunk hobo who thinks hes god.
I've thought the same thing, it is actually quite sad. The first movie was all rocking and partying where he's going to have the greatest adventure of his life. In this movie he's paying the price for having abandoned college. That song at the end is also kindof sad in that the lyrics say "I'll do it right, in my next life." Dang, when you know that your next shot is only in your next life that must suck
It's not. It's tryhard and dumb with no point to it except juvenile shock value for the sake of juvenile shock value. The first film had actual punch, actual substance to it unlike this waste of everyone's time and intelligence.
I have this movie and its prequel, Fritz the Cat, on VHSs AND DVDs. Now i'm looking for the same both on the Blu-Ray versions. Also i'm studying right now, this year's October, for the comic book drawing. Last year's january, i went the Stop Motion animation class. 🐈😺😸
Makes me wonder what you think of the Crumb comics of fritz the cat? I had a couple volumes of Crumb's work, still sealed but i opened them out recently out of appreciation/curiosity. It makes me want to watch both movies again, theyll never be another fritz the cat
The hobo is correct philosophically. Work kills a man in that he is no longer a man but rather a cog in someone else's machine. His happiness, his opportunity to have happiness in his life and a life of true happiness disappears because he submits to live by someone else's obligation. It's an unnatural thing and not logical at all. Work is an irrational poison. Inflicting yourself with a life of punishment that you didn't even earn.
Someone has to work, or no one would have food or shelter. Even primitive people have to work. No culture is exempt. The hobo is a parasite. He lives by consuming the resources created by other peoples labors.
He's a resemblance of Diogenes, a homeless philosopher who lived in a barrel and behaved like a stray dog. Many people in his time were repulsed by him but others saw the genius in his way of life, where he was able to live free from the constraints of society.
@@theshockinglyeloquentdog9945 of course you're advocating change, like someone NEEDS shit like that fritz is a cultivation of not being able to adapt and being in stuck situations always destined for bottom, we can all relate we have been at the bottom at times in a life, fritz is an intellectual bottom feeder he is charismatic but not enough to get out of his bottom pit, genuinely fritz has his own view on how the world is

That hobo's name is God? Weird. I was kind of expecting that it could be like uh, Sheldon or Tim.
"God" spelled backwards is "dog". The hobo is a dog. :P
Ice Age 3 reference?

as much as i adore the youth culture, it was a really crappy time. horrible stuff 🙁

Despite being an x-rated movie, in a way Fritz the Cat is also relatable
I was thinking that, too... Fritz sort of represents this "jerkass" personality that hides in us all.

I don't think they could revive these movies if they even tried. Why ruin what's already perfect?
Yeah and with Amazon now owning the rights to these movies since they brought MGM, I doubt they will try to reboot/remake this.
These movies, were far from perfect, especially the sequel, but the first one will have the achievement of being the first x rated movie
When I was 9 years old my father got my a Fritz the Cat t-shirt. 1973

This movie was really an example of adult comedy taken to an extreme. You can see the interactions of the characters in a sterotypical manner.
In some parts, Fritz's design is similar to that of Don Bluth's style of animation, in my opinion.

This old school animation is the best, its a shame what has become of animation and cartoons nowadays.

It's hard to say, but Merry Clayton did sing these songs in this movie:
- JUMPBACK
- IN MY NEXT LIFE
