  • When I was deciding if I should get a grapple vs pallet forks I couldn’t many videos clearly demonstrating the advantages of either ( in regards to making a grapple upgrade worth it) when working with heavy brush.
So here is video showing how handy a grapple is. A grapple is not necessarily for every situation - and like when deciding which tractor to get you have to carefully analyze your needs and expected use. Thanks for watching subscribe for more videos.
The tractor used is the Kubota B3350.

Great comparison. And, even though I do not own a grapple, pallet forks only, I can see your selection criteria based on your specific need. Great job on this review.....and I agree!

I LOVE my pallet forks for the ~$400 I paid for them. A grapple is cool, but it's a big cost compared to the overall utility:price you get with just pallet forks for a few hundred dollars, esp. if you need to plumb in the 3rd function. If you were doing some dedicated land clearing/forestry stuff, get a grapple. Most of the stuff in this video could've been handled(maybe a bit more slowly) with pallet forks, although being able to kind of drive into/rake up smallish brush into a mass then clamp down is something that is hard to do with just forks. I make all my brush/limb/tree burn piles with my pallet forks..

I don't have forks, but I do have a grapple. I can tell you the grapple has proven to be one of the most useful attachments we have. I have used for clearing brush like you were doing, I have tore down three old buildings on the property and moved the debris with it and pulled out some old iplements that were half buried in the dirt. For us, the grapple has been quite a blessing.

Watching that big log teetering and twisting the loader arms....aaaaahhhhh!!! Man, with a log that big, I'd be dragging it, and pushing. Just a little bigger than a repair would be worth. Grapples are amazing tools!!!

Bought my grapple with my tractor. Hands down my most used tool.

I had my tractor for over 10 years and had no grapple. I did some back-breaking work that would have taken minutes with the grapple instead of hours like it took me. Hands down, the grapple is well worth it if you have a lot of lifting, grabbing, pulling, and transporting all in a single motion. The grapple does all that as one solid implement. I could have kicked my behind for waiting so dang long before I purchased my grapple. Also another necessity is Quick Attach implements. If you have to, modify your implements to make them Quick Attach compatible. You'll really appreciate the time saving and ease of changing an implement. Great video, ShenDoah. 👍

Thanks for watching! Yes, I feel part of your pain. Last year I did a lot of manual work as well and caught both poison ivy and “won” a trip to the chiropractor. Both of which could have been avoided by having a grapple.
I do have the quick attach system. Thanks for making that point for other viewers.

finally a great comparison video! while the pallet forks definitely have their place and use, the grapple wins hands down for brush work and cleaning in general. thanks for the vid -- keep them coming!

It looks like you are using Medium range. Put it in "Low " when doing that kind of pushing and pulling. Your transmission will thank you.
