- Yes that's right I own a Nissan Micra K11, well two as a matter of fact. I went from 'I would never be seen dead in one' to 'they're a great little car'. So after owning one for over a year I thought it was time to do a quick review of the car. Anyway enjoy the video :)

I like it because its like a modern mini cooper, actual mini´s are big as fuck
Great video. These really are under-rated runabouts. I have one and love it for its simplicity. Easily get 45 mpg around the houses and without many journeys over 10 miles. It is such a strong little car. Rust will eventually see it off but it won't owe me a penny.
Underrated by whom?
They are actually very good cars the passig of time has stood testament to that ,even the oldest ones still look cosmeticly good even now
Nice video. My neighbour has one of these and she has had it from new (year 2000). Never any trouble, just consumables. Hers even has air conditioning, and I can tell you it still works (ice cold) and it's never even been re-gassed. Hers has done 170,000 miles now and it still feels good. Original clutch, exhaust and so on.
Wow 🎉
Great little cars. I'm 6'2" and they're fine for anything but longer runs. 2 doors rust on the sills - 4 doors are best. 1.3 engine is the best and a lulzy drive around town. If you don't give a shit about looks and just want an all round cheap, reliable car, they're ace!
I'm 6ft 6 and this was my first car back in 1998
I am a Micra person too.
Because of that i am a new follower of your channel Greetings from Sweden
cheers this video actually helped me alot ive just got a micra and was wondering the faults of them because i actually love them and its good to know where rust usually shows up thanks again
RE: Massimo Cavalieri d'Oro my nissan micra 1.0 16v has done 140,000 miles now, and its still going, i must admit i think its nearing the end of its life but im going to keep it going till the end :D
I love my little micra, I have V REG silver one. Sadly, its seen better days now. Crossmember is basically rusted through :(
I own one very similar to the silver. Just different interiror and a V reg, absoultely love it too bits, cheap to find parts for, cheap to run, and once you own one you just love them!
Like your video, well done for posting. I bought my K11 while my Terrano was off the road, but ended up selling the Terrano and keeping the Micra. As you say, those engines are bullet proof, I like the fact that they is no cambelt to worry about. I have had the car 3 years now and have clocked up 35,000 with only needing 3 tyres and a cv joint replacing. The car has now done 140,000 miles, fastest speed I got out of it was 90 mph, but I find 65 mph is the comfortable speed.
Thanks. Great review i might think about buying a nissan micra like those
I pay £200 a year insurance on mine and its an all singing and dancing policy. Brilliant car the KII doesn't seem to have that rust issue I have a 2002 and it is totally rust free. Main issues are the CV Boots don't last more than 14 years, the heat shield clip breaks so costs 23p to replace! I paid £500 for my KII and have had it 5 years and it flies through it's MOT's like you say as long as you change the oil on a regular basis the engines are bullet proof.
Hi i heard the engine are bulletproof regular but i don't understand. What it means my first time owning a micra so new to me.
I just bought a 1.3 micra with automatic transmission for £300, use to laugh at ‘em but now I’m lovin it, bit low when going through McDonald’s drive through, apart from that, good fun.
Love them too
I have owned many of these & in my tough times my micra was getting me from A2B for my work, brilliant reliable dependable cars!
My first car has been a 2002 k11 micra s, and I must say it is so under rated. All my friends were getting the 02' clio and it absolutely smokes them. Being Japanese it never dies, parts are fairly cheap, and no word of a lie I pushed it to 110mph on the motorway with a full car. If you are after a nippy reliable first car get one of these, replace the oil and the spark plugs and maybe the air filter and you will see significant improvement in performance. Only downside is there is no rev counter, but is that such a bad thing?
👍
I had 100s of cars in my life but the Nissan Micra K11 , pound per pound is the best car I ever had. Never let me down,
Same here.
I have a W reg micra as my first car and love it
I passed my test on the 17th of dec and been driving my micra since. before I had driven it I was planning to change its appearance some how because I think it looked disgusting but I have change my mind it's a lovely little car and I wouldn't change a thing about it (micra 1.3 owner)
*sat here with a K10 with the CG10DE from the same year of these in there)*
I've seen a CG13DE (a Super S) that'd done nay on a million miles...worked brilliantly.
I love my Micra. Looking to buy another one just to mod up, as my engine has only done 25k, and I don't want to be dropping a 1.3 engine into mine and losing such a young engine
Well done mate good advice
Me and my brother both too young to drive share a micra tempest which are quite rare, same 1ltr engine but with the coil packs, zero rust at all on the car sills or crossmember, my brothers 6'6" and he fits in it no problem!
I´ve sold mine but i still miss my Nissan!
That was actually quite nice, mate!
Very amusing video nicely done sir :) they are awesome little beasts I've owned two and can't fault them, cheapest car to run in the uk period
Still plenty around especially in the north east where the staff working at Nissan got a bit of a reduction. !!!
Yeah Micras are awesome. Owned a couple of K11s over the years and had a K10 for a few months too till it got broken into and wrecked. The K11s are epic and a hoot to drive. Not much is quicker or more fun to get through London traffic!
i got a 1.3 lx (1993) with 270000 km on it still drives great
Nice review Geords_lad. I like these Micras too. Mother_LA-Raiders has one of these and it is a joy to drive, particularly when I've been driving a large car all day/week. Sadly, these have a habit of attracting the wrong kind of attention. Pretty much anyone wil, try and bully you out of the way/off the road, they don't care how big you are until you get out of the car but sadly stupid prople will always think they are better than you because they are in a bigger/newer cars.
LosAngelesRaiders that is true same here in netherland
Totally agree on the micra from on me third had two k11's and a k12 but got back to a k11. 998cc and 47 to the gallon around town daft not too!
Can't beat the engines but the back sections and the rear axle rot -it is one of the main down falls , so when you buy one check for that .
My mate got 95mph out of his :D
Nice cars...what model year are these?
Hi, mate do you still have the k11 micras. I've had mine 3 years now in December 2020. The sills on mine are still good and the front panel it is funny how some cars survive isn't it. Tony Leicester Uk.
Oh and...bunch of mods declared on my 1991 K10. (CG10DE swap, GSF600 Suzuki Bandit carbs, exhaust modifications, suspension modifications, brake upgrades)...
£1550/yr at 18 with a years no claims.
As for the 6ft person hardly fitting, I had a 1.3 K11...6'6 and drove comfortably.
I bought a 2014 TCe 0.9 Dacia Sandero for 6700 with 60k miles on the clock as my first car. Owned it 9 months and sold it after paying close to 4000 in repairs. I then bought a '98 1.3 Micra with 80k on the clock, owned it for a year, 400 in repairs (rusted parts). It's also a better drive and corners better.
How is the Honda Jazz? Thinking of getting that next.
They are a great cars the Micra (By the way replying through another one of my channels haha). Had four in our time and all were great bar the rust which was always the end of them. Brother in law has one now. As for the Jazz we still have it, i have gone through 4 cars but the Wifes Honda just keeps going. Other then servicing costs we have not had anything go wrong with it. :) Great car
I love my nissan Micra k11
Having had Skoda Felicia 1.3 (avoid the other engines, especially diesel.) and a 2000 K11 Micra,I would say that the Felicia is by far the better car in every way - except perhaps mpg. I've been driving a K11 for over a year now and have found nothing to change my mind.
I've had a K11 and Felicias (I put 100k miles into one!). A fairer comparison would be a Skoda Favorit and the Micra, the Felicia was a larger, more highly evolved, and better galvanised VW car. They both have character, and prices are rising on both as rarity value kicks in.
I like both.❤
Marc Bolan once said he'd not be seen dead in a Mini a few years before he died.
Sadly had to give up my turquoise Passion because of turning right into the side of a Yaris at 15mph at difficult junction. Still drives fine but as a bit of the frame is dented and won't pass MOT 83k miles.
I have a 1.4 Peugeot 206 and it's not much quicker than the 1.0 Micra. I bet the larger engine Micras would leave the Peugeot in the dirt. Though the Peugeot seems to have better handling. Being naughty at 5am I'll assure you you can get over 100mph (104 on the dial) out of the 1 litre. The Micra is more reminiscent of a girlfriend and the Peugeot is more masculine looking. I think the Micra will have better fuel economy on everything but fast motorway as it is a bit boxy that lets down high speed.
I'd love to put the CG10DE in some lightweight low down kit car of only 200kg!
I had a silver 1.0 exact to it silver 1,for my 1st car @ 17 until 20 great lil car,i now have a yaris t sport 1.5 vvti 105bhp 850kg,which goes like stink hahaha
I've sold my Micra and got a Toyota yaris 2015
exactly what my dad is planning on doing!
team please!!!! The plastics in the new yaris is terrible. You can probably file your nails on yhem!
my used to have a sport button on it haha but mine was a 01 plate
+team please!!!! I did have a 1.4 sport+, on a Y plate. That was a nippy motor.
Hello, I own the same car and I was wondering if you could help me. I have to change the front light (on the right) but I don't know where to start...your help would me much appreciated :) thanks ! Btw great car I love it even if mine's not as ''clean'' as yours ^^
4x 10 mil bolts, but one is tight to get to.
Nought to to with the environment. Haha. Respect :-)
what would you say the insurance cost is for first car and new driver?
£1200 Aviva (Named Driver) or £2300 (Own Policy)
Thank you. Are aviva cheapest? ive been looking around and every time i enter for a quote it gets dearer and dearer i was told tesco etc were even cheaper i got a quote for £4000+ that was for a vauxhall corsa 1.0 3dr complete joke.
Flower- child well as a 17 yr old the cheapest for me was Aviva, I set that I was a named driver under my dad's insurance, I made sure it was set to "car is parked on drive" (that's cheapest for some reason). However I've just renewed my insurance now I'm 18 on the same car under my own policy with my dad as a named driver and it's only £750 with Diamond. I have a 3dr 1.0 k11 micra s. Hope that helps :)
I am 17 and have got a 52 plate nissan micra S 1.0. I'm a named driver and I pay £950 for the year. Cooperative young drivers insurance. Absolutely excellent.
Hasan Riaz What does '52 plate' mean?
100 grand?
The k11 was the last good car ever made
mine had 2 airbags
Awww now you have to share the details of what happened to Micra number 3. Come on, spill the beans.
+pipnmaz Arr Bub, he was a good car for the 2 months i had him. Was parked up on a street and someone drove into it. Was a total write off :(. I also got another micra after the silver one which was a 1.4 Sport+ which was a great car and nippy. I know have a Suzuki swift sport and a Honda jazz so i think my micra days are over lol
***** Dam that sucks dude! I had a Vauxhall Vectra many years ago which I had spent thousands on modifying. That got written off while it was parked up at home. Some scum bag in a stolen car stoved in to it then got out and ran off. Don't even know if they got caught but I lost the car.
pipnmaz
Sounds like you had the same bad luck.
I'm selling my little red tub....micra 1 litre, been in the family since 2000....genuine 64,000 miles....never let me down...
+baz burdett Still young that for a Micra, there was one going around the net which was getting towards 750.000 miles.
baz burdett Was the registration T237 NBD by any chance?
21 going on 60...
It’s Keith lemon
You can see videos of my Swap B18C6 (Integra Type-R) engine in my Micra K11 in my chanel. Greats
How much is the insurance a month mate
I was paying just under £500 a year at 21. One reason i changed to a Swift sport was when i was 23 i found that it was only £10 more to insure haha.
Id rather die than admiting knowing someone who owns one
Richard Holland why
Tom CFC because micras are granny cars
Apart from they definitely aren't, they have a Motorsport series
This feels like a parody..
I came from pewdiepie's New car video
nisoon
he has two micras because hes ginger
+Michael White Could be, hell I now own a Suzuki swift sport, Honda Jazz and 5 motorbikes. If my hair colour has had something to do with it then I'm very grateful I'm ginger :P
HaHa! All the negative comment about
the micra makes me laugh, and all probebly made by nitwits who have
never driven one, I love my blown 71k+ 1.4 K11 (CGA3DE) with a
passion, she is soooooo much fun to drive, Especially at the lights,
HeHe, you know, BMW driver looks over sniggering as he
Intinidatingly revs the shit out of it, then the look of abject
horror and Confusion that contorts his face, as he is left sucking on
rice burner fumes, and the sight of a rapidly diminishing micra's
arse......................PRICELESS
Call My baby a Granny Car ya Chump!!!
Hahahaha :) I raced a blown Micra up and down a dual carrigeway a few times a while back, I was in my Porsche 928, manual gearbox, circa 310bhp & was only just pulling away! Thing was dementedly fast
It will get you to 70, actually I've had it above 70 😂. U little devil
The 1400 isn't rare lol what the hell are u on about I have 3 🤣
They are actually rare though according to the dvla🙃
@@diannecrawford9996 ok well who wants to buy one coz I'll sell one of mine
Ginger Geordie biker micra k11s are horrible looking things
+Alyson O'Connell not if you modify it accordingly ;)
Nissan shitbox
Still more reliable than a corsa limited edition☠️😂
