Wow, this is the most beautifully I’ve ever heard one of my instruments played I think, thank you guys!! The headstock is just my signature shape, it looks kind of like my dad’s, there’s flow I came up with it. I’ll bring you a guitar to try any time 😁😁😁
Great opening, I hear the difference in clarity between the Oha series and the Hawaiian Luthier instruments from Kanile’a, but the DNA sharing is clear. Great step up and introduction instruments from Kanile’a and they do sound and look quality. Want to say that all you guys organising the 16th Sept with Craig and Sarah for Maui is so heart warming. Great to see the Uke community genuinely wanting to help. To all that have or are building and donating instruments for the cause, you are all genuine caring human beings, bless you all. Have a great week.
Amazing I would love Oha ukulele I’m starting to save. I have to say that your playing is absolutely wonderful. I can’t stop listening to both of you. 😮. Just amazing 😮😮
The previous comment was after hearing Kalei's comparisons. Corey's comparisons yielded the same conclusion with regard to the soprano, concert and tenor. But with the super tenor I got the impression that the island made one had not only more low end, but a clearer top end as well. The Oha had a bigger mid-range sound with less on the top and bottom.
To my ear, the Ohas are brighter. But that’s less obvious the bigger they get. The super tenors are the closest. The soprano and concert have a lot of what the Brits call chang-a-lang. Folks are going to love them. You guys are the best. Thanks for all the music.
Great see sopranos in the picture again. The combination KT soprano and EJH tenor was very pleasant and satisfying. It shows the musical contrast between sizes. Can’t beat plucky sopranos played with competence and love. 😊
Thanks again for another great podcast! Just throwing this out into the universe: I would love to hear Corey and Kalei's take on Hi Ren by Ren, would just need to pick who was going to be evil Ren and who would be good Ren :)
I was surprised by the super tenor comparison. With the soprano, concert and tenor I thought the Ohas sounded slightly muffled and the island made ones were clearer, more articulate and a bit more forward. But then with the super tenor the Oha sounded brighter and the island made one sounded a bit darker.
Are the oha ‘ukuleles using the “old” Kanile’a bracing. They sound more compressed (says he who’s listening on apple airpods) . Have to wait till they hit the mainland (west coast) The ‘Ukulele Site, no ka ‘oi. Maui strong
Damn... Corey and Kalei are just humbling to listen to. Great video guys!
Corey & Kalei never cease to amaze! I’m only 8 minutes into this video and I just picked myself up off the floor! Mahalo guys….
Fantastic America cover! You guys are the absolute Kings of transposition! Nice Koa tones as well! Luv ya all!

Outstanding!! Beautiful instruments, excellent musicianship!
I would love to see this done with Pono’s line in comparison to the Kalele series!
Awesome stuff guys.
Beautiful rendition of Ventura Highway. Mahalo

💪Batman and Robbin are kicking butt in Gotham City once again!💪
The america song was so good! Corey and Kalei are the kings of ukulele covers and what the ukulele can do

They are performing at the Los Angeles UkeFest in a few weeks. I am so there..
Sick wit it guys...
Wonder if anyone can tell me why Kanile’a has changed strings from Aquila nyle-gut to flouro carbon?
Going with trend or?
I wonder how these compare to older oha models made in Hawaii.
