- The Momotaro family, for the first time in a long time, spent the entire day on the ground.
The high temperature for the day was 33.1°C, so it was not a very hot day. It was hot and humid, though.

The Momotaro family were all born and raised in Japan!
Momotaro (father) was born on Jul 3, 2000
He came to the Kyoto City Zoo in 2010.
Genki (mother) was born on June 24, 1986.
I was born in Kyoto and came back to Kyoto.
Gentaro (eldest son), born on December 21, 2011
Momotaro and Genki's first child

What happened this time ....
Looked like Momo was wanting to mate at the wrong end and it might have confused Genki & Gentaro.
I understand that the American & European zoo's will not send their gorilla's to Japan to mate because the Japanese zoo's do not meet international standards for the care of them. So this is a recognized problem in the gorilla/ zoo world ? Then Kyoto should take note and bring it's zoo up to those requirements OR give up trying to breed them and transfer this family to a place they can be raised and bred successfully. Momo needs a new mate to breed, Gentero needs a mate & Genki & Kintero cannot be separated at this point, so Genki needs better care to keep her around and in good health.
Недавно в зоопарке США родила горилла, которую считали самцом😮!Она жила у них 4года и работники не могли определить её пол и даже не знали,что беременна!Это ужас.В Америке ужасные специалисты по гариллам.Там в одном отряде содержится много разнополых животных.Никто не следит за их размножение.Они даже не знают кто отец детёныша.Плодятся,как мухи . Правильно содержаться в Европейских странах.В Японии тоже бардак.Здесь нет уже самок для Мамотаро, Киемаса,Рикки ,Кинни, Гентаро.Есть одна дочь Шабани Анька,но ее на всех не разделить.Этот зоопарк не отдаст Аньку для Гентаро,потому что Гентаро не соответствует,не очень хороший генофонд.
MOM is to old.... No idea why they would put such a good male with weak old female? And only one!!! Look how much better the families are with more members and more room! And mom eats all day. She is losing weight because of age. Her teeth all gone. No one grooms her.
Because Momo was young and inexperienced so they put an older experienced female in with him ...they have 2 sons so she taught him the ropes but yes she's getting old ...not her fault and Momo would miss her terribly if she went ...

Genki might be older but she's suffering because of her health not her age. Supposedly there's a shortage of female gorrilas in Japan so there's no other females for Momo or Gentero his son both of them are beautiful males. I think they should find a place for the entire family in another zoo in the US or Europe where they would be well taken care of & the 2 males could find mates.
Si pusieran otra hembra seria un terrible error, Genki no aceptaría a otra, Kintaro no se puede separar de Genki, menos separarse de Momotaro. Genki está así no porque sea mayor, sino por problemas de salud que se fue acumulando con los años.
Looks like things are getting worse with Gentaro and Momotaro, I am assuming that Momotaro put those scratches on him. 😢
Какие же они ленивые.Кто там кричит,что их плохо кормят?Мамо и Гентаро уже,как два огромных куска сала,еле ходят.Генка похудела и стала лучше двигаться.
Момотаро уже не сможет спариваться с другими самками.Когда не станет Генки,он останется один,как Монта.Там один Хаоко знает,как делать детей.Отдайте ему Ай,он с ней быстро разберётся,что куда сунуть.А Аньку только для Рикки,он уже лезет к Тото.Гентаро такой же,как и его отец не способный.К тому же у него очень плохие зубы уже.Он их вырывает.Очень жаль дочерей Хаоко,у них могло быть много детей,но не будет никогда.

That Momotaro sure can do some crazy unpredictabe things to Genki. I still remember when Momo and Genki had their first introduction. Momo with no clue what to do, starts play biting Genki all over her back like she was one of his buddies. Genki, confused at what her crazy partner is doing finally just gets into position on the ground. Momo literally lays on her back with his arms and legs straight out balancing on her like a airplane! Genki is strong holding up Momo on her back, she finally had enough of whatever Momo was doing for the past half hour. I have seen Momotaro do the same to Genki twice. A few months back he was trying to balance on top of her with his junk on her head in reverse and he did the same in this video. It's like Momo has this mother/wife/buddy thing going on and rest of the family is confused. Its like he's playing reverse leap frog on unexpected Genki. When Kintaro was just months old Momotaro did the same but knocked Kintaro out of her arms on the ground. Momotaro went back to Genki to see if Kintaro was ok but Momotaro did something he never does. He stood behind Genki with his arm around Genki looking at Kintaro very worried. After that Genki wouldn't let Momotaro get near Kintaro and Momotaro didn't try even though Momotaro reallly wanted to kiss and bond with Kintaro. When Genki finally let kintaro go to Momotaro, he wouldn't even look at Kintaro if Genki was watching. You should play that video again sometime. It reallly showed the compassionate side of Momotaro.
