Echinacea, Green Twister Coneflower blooming in my zone 8b Oregon back yard.

This coneflower is a new addition this year that I almost ended up taking out. The blooms started a dull green color so I wasn’t to impressed with it. Luckily I decided to just let it do it’s thing and now the color is looking good.

Stunning plant, I read it takes 2/3 years to get its lime green colour. Beautiful from day 1 thou :)

One thing I started noticing with my first year of having Echinacea P. Green Twister is that they are the first variety of coneflowers that gets powdery mildew. I live in zone 7B, and I think it has to do with the texture of their foliage. I noticed they have a more stiff and rough-like texture to their leaves compared to other varieties of coneflowers. Maybe the powdery mildew clings onto this kind of foliage easier.
