Great video! I have always wondered if Burgess Meredith was given the wrong prop for the scene at 2:22, since it is apparently meant to be a gun umbrella (hence the gunshot sound effect), but is obviously a typical smoke umbrella. The alternative is that the sound effect was an afterthought, added for a sense of danger & it was always supposed to be gas, but then that raises the question as to why it wouldn't put Batman to sleep. I think about this sort of thing a bit too much... But excellent collection of clips, in any case!
I feel like the henchmen were trying to physically show that they were holding their breath, maybe? Of course, Batgirl should have done the same thing, but I guess she was unaccountably taken by surprise. Sometimes the smoke doesn't actually get anywhere near the people who still end up falling asleep, so I like to think it is effective in a range beyond what the physically colored clouds show. But I do tend to overthink this stuff!
@@photobygil Correct!! Also, because they didn't have as much time to work with, this wasn't followed by a deathtrap. Although sticking Batman with a few fruit flies counts for something.
This illustrates one of the greatest failings of the movie "The Batman"; their Penguin was nothing but a common thug, not even good enough to be one of the real Penguin's henchmen.
70% of this show consists of villains using knock out gas on people
It's effective.

I think it’s just supposed to be, like, gun smoke.
Definitely gun umbrella since Batman ducks
Honestly for something from the mid to late 1960’s the effects look a lot more better than most CGI in some movies.
This show is still amazing
Not even lying that bullet proof umbrella is cool as hell. There’s no way we do but I’d love to see it in the Matt reeves Batman trilogy
I miss this version of penguin
thank you for reuploading the video it's super funny
You forgot the corkscrew spiral umbrella knockout gas dispenser which took out the guardsmen in the '66 Batman movie.
I didn’t add movie scenes. The last clip was a bonus clip.
At 5:12, how come Batgirl was the only one knocked out by the gas? Penguins 2 henchman were right beside her and didn't get knocked out

The cement filled one is lol funny 😂😂😂
1:42 pause it Batman didn’t even touch him
What about Penguin's umbrella gun which he used to "shoot" his associate Cordy Bleu in The Penguin's Nest (season 2)?
3:28 here.
@@Sassywizard Thanks. Saw it. Was shown after The Bird's Last Jest (part 2) scene where he gases Alfred after he recognized him.
Me encanta cuando los duermen y los amarran ❤

The voice of dick dasterly and micky in rocky and one of the best batman baddies
Paul Winchell (Tigger, Gargamel) voiced Dick Dastardly, not Burgess Meredith.
Love how there isn't a single dislike
@@nightingale1207 no...No......NOOOOOOOOOOO
This aged like milky wine, but it was more than likely for the best in this case.
