I was one of those people recommending this. She clearly is in a transcendental state on this one going to that other place she has spoken about. Her eyes keep rolling. Her pace with Kork is like floating on a boat in the summer going down a narrow, slow river surrounded by beautiful fields and flowers. I'm almost certain this performance is at a slower tempo than her previous Summertimes. Perhaps it was around this age that she started slowing down the tempo for many songs when performing them live - which you'll almost certainly see in LA! I've heard vocal coaches say how much more difficult that can be ... for normal humans at least. Not so for AJ - it just gives her more space to Angelina-ize a song.

Leave it to Angelina to know just how to adjust her performance to match with this amazing orchestra. And one might say, what is this child doing performing at this level with these seasoned musicians, to which I would reply BUT IT IS Angelina Jordon. Unbelievable talent!!
The difficulty here is the slower tempo with longer phrases and maintaining control of a breathy tone. I actually believe the differences in tasteful embellishments is that they are not planned and memorized in such detail, but left for her ability to improvise.

Great analysis Aron. Every time you see her as she is a day older she gets better. I certainly identify with the emotions as a father of a daughter. It just makes me feel protective and proud and I know that many angels feel the same. I was also taken by the video shot of her bare feet under her gown. Sorry, but I don’t buy that she’s 10 years old here, unless she just turned ten. If you watch her mouth, she is still making these odd mouth or lip movements that she stopped doing by age ten. Watch her closely on stage at age ten singing “Feeling Good.” Not one single odd facial movement that night. She was most likely the one to slow down the tempo here and maybe even had something to do with the arrangement. The difficulty here is the slower tempo with longer phrases and maintaining control of a breathy tone. I actually believe the differences in tasteful embellishments is that they are not planned and memorized in such detail, but left for her ability to improvise.
Exactly, I agree that her "tasteful embellishments" are improvised. She doesn't memorize a song, she just sings it as she is feeling it.

This was video that convinced me to seek out her multiple-performance songs. And in every case, there are portions that are favorites. And interesting.
Angelina's beautiful sultry, rich voice floats above the delicate music, delivering a story right off the plantation.

Great analysis Aron. Every time you see her as she is a day older she gets better. I certainly identify with the emotions as a father of a daughter. It just makes me feel protective and proud and I know that many angels feel the same. I was also taken by the video shot of her bare feet under her gown. Every time they allude to that image, it makes me well up. I am so pleased you will be able to see her on the 20th and I hope there are great videos from the concert. Sorry I will not be there and be able to meet you but of course I will continue to support your channel! Peace out.

Sorry, but I don’t buy that she’s 10 years old here, unless she just turned ten. If you watch her mouth, she is still making these odd mouth or lip movements that she stopped doing by age ten. Watch her closely on stage at age ten singing “Feeling Good.” Not one single odd facial movement that night. She was most likely the one to slow down the tempo here and maybe even had something to do with the arrangement. Did you notice the big smile on the conductor’s face and the orchestra clapping for her?
