When Dynasty first aired, John James as Jeff Colby took my breath away. So handsome and great voice. He’s still looks great. The three Dynasty actors doing the cabaret-like Dynasty trio is quite good. Harvey, have you had Jack Coleman on the show? Had that wonderful hair and chest
What an enjoyable interview Harvey. You definitely bring out the very best in your guests, don't you? I loved all of his inside stories and what a consummate professional he is. I could listen to this interview all day. Congratulations to you both!
Steve, was just on a live stream in the chat with Scott Michaels and mentioned how much I enjoyed your interview with him. The ones with Harvey were so informative. Hope you plan to write a memoir.
@@lindapgolan7070 Hi, and thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the information in those interviews. Find me a respected publisher and I will. There's tons more to tell too. Thanks again. Steve
Wow, I can't believe that you got John James to talk about the whole Anna Nicole saga. He was so honest and genuine in his recollections. I stopped your video to go check out the scene where Jeff finds out about Fallen's pregnancy. I never watched soap operas because i didn’t take them seriously, plus my stepmother was addicted to them. Anyway, that was great acting, and the scene is so powerful! Harvey, thanks for bringing up the subject of abortion . I'm impressed by how well you and John handled it. Also, I didn’t know who John James was (I was so busy working full time and taking 18 credits a semester), so thank you for having him on your show. What a straightforward and humble man, considering the looks he was blessed with. There is substance behind that handsome face!
Well Harvey, I just finished the John James episode. First of all, that man has the VOICE. Listening to him talk so intimately with you for an hour was a total pleasure. My heart became more deeply involved when I heard the ANS stories, although I also enjoy "Old Hollywood" stories like you and he. Thanks for asking the good questions and bringing out the BEST in all your lucky guests!
This along with your interview with Gordon Thompson from Dynasty was awesome. Here's hoping for Jack Coleman next. I'm really enjoying all your other interviews too and John James was very cool and yet a class act the way he spoke fondly about everyone including Anna Nicole. I also love the story about Cary Grant and the others with JJ on the private jet. What a fun life!
Love this guy. I just finished watching the whole series of dynasty all over again. Hated they left a cliffhanger. Want to rewatch The Colby's but couldn't find it out there. He was a great interview. Thanks so much for this. Loved it.
So much insight from these conversations with professionals we have admired. I was also a big fan of the Mysteries and Scandals series, because it contains a lot of really good guidelines as well. Your capturing these words of wisdom from those who actually know about making a difference is a service that shall live on to enlighten all who are interested.
Thanks for another interesting interview, Harvey. I was a big ‘Dynasty’ fan in the 80s-mainly because I loved Joan Collins as Alexis. I also watched ‘The Colby’s’ for the first season, but when Barbara Stanwyck packed it in, I was done. Sadly, she wasn’t given the greatest character with which to work. The potential for her Aunt Connie character was very limited. I also enjoyed Katharine Ross, who played John James’ character Jeff’s mother. It would have been nice to hear his take on Emma Samms, but I get the impression he would’ve had a nice answer. I didn’t mind Emma, but Fallon she was not. Thanks for the trip down memory lane with John James!
Clare Boothe Luce was the Congresswoman from SW Connecticut. She was later the Amb to Italy who poisoned by the ceiling paint. She also was a writer, she wrote the famous play and film THE WOMEN. Clare was also the wife of Henry Luce, the founder of Time and Life. John Anderson, Nancy Russell-Tutty loved to talk about you - New Canaan HS.
He was and is one of the most handsome men to ever appear in front of a camera. He was talented , he knew when to not overact - a trait that is very appealing to all of us. Ricky Martin, maxamillin , John James, are absolutely handsome. Beautiful men are not wanted in Hollywood because they overshadow beautiful w9man and average man doesn’t want their date to fall for the actor on the screen. That’s why we have Tom cruise.
@@harveybrownstoneinterviews8980 oh...how weird. perhaps I saw another interview, but he was in the same position/room. Yours will be the BEST interview Harvey.
Don't worry John apparently he was a jerk on set of The Carpet baggers! He was not nice to Allan Ladd! Not surprised the way he acted with you! He didn't deserve to be in your company! Loved you on Dynasty! Had a crush! 😊
Agreed. Of the 80s night time soaps it was the crappiest, had low ratings, wooden acting, & "storylines" that had no connection to the reality of the wealthy at that time. A deservedly forgotten show.
John you said one thing that for years I have too from age 14 or so , getting into n loving Tv shows acting n just as you said you individuals that you followed and lived. Well this I can say is also a reason why you yourself John, Eric Martsolf, Shawn Christian, Charlton Heston, Wally Kurth, John Forsythe, Linda Evans , Joan Collin’s, Deidre Hall, and one other for 34 yrs was Drake Hogestyn. But it’s sad that my cultural bkgrnd if u tell you like eg. in this case you, John James, Eric Martsolf & Dhawn Christian yet there are also all these few others, people would say to me …what are you a poofter?? But my interest was watching liking and learning due to industry. That’s why I never talk about acting now to anyone.
John James seems like a nice enough guy and this was an enjoyable interview. He may have been a well known face on tv in the 80s. I don't think he's renowned though. My opinion.
We’ve tried many times to get them but so far no luck. Believe me, despite the success of our show, it’s still very hard getting big stars to grant me an interview. Sigh…..
Lovely to see an interviewer to let the actor talk and not interrupt them x
Thanks for noticing!!

I did ask him what he thought of Emma Samms being cast as Fallon, but he skirted the issue. My instincts told me not to press the issue.
