This style of Irish dance is so much better than the garishness of some forms I have seen. With ridiculous wigs, smothered on fake sun tan, outlandishly overdone "Celtic" style dresses. It's all over the top, like some misguided Hollywood version of Oirish dancing. These girls are great, natural, understated.
It’s unfortunate that the camera person had little space to work in the record this performance. A lot of the dance was lost due to the lack of depth inside the performance space. The camera person needed a good 10’ more space to capture the entire group as a whole. Bummer.
I may be wrong, but I think that this lively version of the song is by the late, lamented, and much-missed, Kirsty McColl. What could be better, beautiful girls and beautiful music.
You are probably confused because the most popular UA-cam video of this song (By Shamrock) is incorrectly attributed to Kirsty McCall to the extent that they actually use a photo of Kirsty.
