As fun and lighthearted as these videos are, I would sincerely like to thank Keith and all the other people behind the scenes that make the “Keith Eats Everything at _” videos possible. As someone that struggles a lot with anxiety in public spaces, it helps to know exactly what the options are, what they look like, and what they might taste like before going into a restaurant. Jokes aside, you’ve given me a lot more confidence in restaurants. It sounds dumb, but really, thank you.

I love how these videos are incredibly entertaining but also informative. As an autistic person, this series really helps me with knowing the textures and tastes of certain food at certain restaurants. I work at IKEA in Europe and let me tell you… your IKEA menu is very very americanised haha! Mac and cheese? Cheesecake? Pizza? Meatball wraps? Potatoes for breakfast? Fun fact: the meatballs do have funny names! Huvudroll or köttbullar. Sad to see some items missing, like the salmon in lemon dill sauce as a main and the DAIM cake as a desert. Oh and the cheese croquette as a starter. The hotdog is Iconic also over here because it is set that the price may never change and it’s a good snack before going home. If I’m not mistaken there’s actually 3 types of meatballs: original, vegan and vegetarian. Good on IKEA for tailoring their food to the country the store is located in.

Lucky for me I am salt deficient (I never add salt to anything because I normally HATE salt). This, however, is my exception. That said, most people have far too much salt so, maybe once a year you can have one (or not). I had two during the pandemic and then not any since, but it stands the best vegetarian dog I ever had.

I'm swedish and love this so much (except the icing on the cinnamon bun ofc but it looked so stale that that's the least of ur worries haha) and would like to add that lettuce and salad are BOTH called "sallad" in swedish, so once non-lettuce salads come into the picture it gets really hard to talk about :P Also, I feel like the Veggie Balls make a lot more sense in swedish since we don't actually use "balls" to refer to uh family jewels, instead using our word for "marbles". And our version of mac-n-cheese is actually called "stuvade makaroner" or "stewed macaroni", so yeah macaroni and milk was pretty on point since that's what it is really - but good with some seared Falukorv slices and sickly sweet Felix Ketchup.
I am deeply offended by your reaction to the gooey lava cake fudge Kladdkaka, but ig I'll have to live with that haha
Just adress all complaints about the food to Carl XVI Gustav, Kungliga slottet, 107 70 Stockholm, Sweden 🥰 He's this nutritional government official who loves receiving your detailed critisim about what our country can do better in terms of food!!!
Also you should totally come to Stockholm sometime :) The cherry blossom season is over but there's a ton of cool stuff like the archipelago tours and Skansen and the museums and all that jazz. I live in Malmö and really love it but I think we might be the Detroit of sweden so I don't think anybody from the rest of country will tell you to come here 😅It's got fun festivals and a bunch of culture and history too though, and since it's like 30min on the train to Copenhagen, I think it makes for a really cool trip :) And we do have an IKEA warehouse so y'all can do a comparison to the american IKEA :P And some Bea on the museum quality pizza. Now that I think about it, you guys should totally go to a pizzeria in sweden and order one kebabpizza, one Africana, and extra pizzasallad extra bea, to see what swedish pizza is all about. And also try MAX. (Keith Eats Everything at MAX?? 😳😳😳) And see if you can still find a Tunnbrödrulle spot in the year of our lord 2023 (in Malmö there's just falafel places instead but maybe stockholm's different lol) (falafel is so freaking good though, best served from a hole in the wall place that looks like a front for money laundering, the kind that costs between $3 and $5, with some extra baba ganoush) and get the biggest baddest Tunnbrödrulle with the double sausage and extra räksallad and extra bostongurka etc etc. Some stekt strömming, all the gravlax and cold-smoked salmon and warm-smoked salmon, one of those huge räkmacka with just a whole mountain of shrimp, a köttbullemacka or two. And Punsch and Snaps and Akvavit ofc :P To be honest I am genuinely really curious as to how the spiced liquors taste to someone who's more familiar with like Malört, and how all the smoked/cured salmon tastes to someone more familiar with Lox. And also, what Nyponsoppa and Blåbärsoppa (buy in the store, heat up on the stove to near boiling, drink from a mug) is like to y'all. And Kullamust obviously. And saft maybe, but the good stuff that comes in a glass bottle and not the cheap ones. And some good Princesstårta and cardamon buns. And some good old Fika with Bryggkaffe, a cinnamon bun, maybe a dammsugare, a uh chokladboll... Färskpotatis with dill and creme fraiche and chopped red onions too, if its the right season. That Daim cake that you find in the freezer section of grocery stores. And DO NOT forget the American aisle and the texmex aisle in the larger grocery stores lol
There's definitely a lot of weird combos in traditional swedish food (or "husmanskost" aka house-man-food :P) but I think it's kind of endearing 😅I feel like every dish that exists here is significantly improved bu a big ol squeeze of lemon though

Here in Spain people go to ikea even just to have breakfast because there's lots of menu options and they cost 1 to 3 euros. And you can refill your coffee as many times as you want!

As a swede ikea food is really cheap but pretty good quality for what it is. Like the food is pretty typical for a cheap Swedish lunch restaurant, but it’s like oh you are presently surprised it’s done pretty well for being so cheap.
Same for the buns, scones and sweets, it’s about the level of quality like you would get from the ‘home baked’ part of a super market, so many steps below actually made in a proper bakery, but like a good super market ‘bakery’ level stuff.
The meatballs at ikea are again like pretty okay lunch restaurant level of food. But the brunsås / aka gravy is pretty bland compared to what you normally get.
But for the price it’s a pretty decent meal.
But it’s far away from the best meatballs you can get in Sweden.
Overall when swedes live abroad they often visit ikea for the food, both in the restaurant and the food section where you can buy stuff home.
It’s like a pretty decent, and pretty similar to what you would find sold as lunch food in Sweden.
I don’t know what that breakfast was. It’s not a very typical Swedish thing. Swedish breakfast usually is bread and dairy, and overall served cold.
The ‘crepes’ (they are pretty different from proper French crepes) looked like pretty normal Swedish pancakes, though I’ve never seen them be served with lingonberry jam. Even the ones I’ve seen served at Swedish ikea stores have served them with strawberry jam and I think whipped cream.
The normal way to eat swedish pancakes in Sweden would be with either raspberry jam, strawberry jam, queen jam (a blueberry and raspberry jam), and unsweetened whipped cream.
And they would more be considered either a very desert snack food or a sweet lunch food.
    Not breakfast.
Lingonberry jam is more commonly used in savoury stuff, especially paired with fatty stuff, to cut through that and brighten things.
Like we have a traditional-ish Swedish dish with crispy potato pancakes served with slices of pork belly (think thick slices of bacon, but it’s not smoked), served with lingon berry jam.
    It’s pretty good.
That is like the closest pancake thing I can think of that is served with lingonberry jam in Sweden

Yeah the mention of smoking before he got there made me wonder.... does the food taste different when high? Like I wonder if all of his in depth descriptions of flavor and texture and the comparisons have been coming from him being high and not someone with a sophisticated palette. I wonder if he does that for every Eat The Menu or just this one. I do feel like he might have also been so obsessed with the breakfast food because he had the munchies (which would have worn off right around the time he was getting disappointed by the food).

Loved this. Love eat the menu. But y’all missed A LOT here. First off, not sure if you noticed/mentioned the difference between the veggie balls and the plant balls. The veggie balls are made of a bunch of veggies like a veggie burger. The plant balls are made with pea protein (I think) and are more like meat. They’re similar to impossible meat or beyond meat but not as good, and are miles better than the dried out veggie balls. There’s also a shrimp sandwich and shrimp salad. Then there are a few sides you didn’t get. These rotate out seasonally but as of writing this it’s roasted vegetables, and cauliflower rice, these are options similar to the peas and fries that you can add or sub to your meal. There’s also a simple side salad and some sort of side bread. The bread is either a roll, croissant, or garlic bread. I can’t remember if you had the mashed potatoes either, they’re a classic side that goes with the meatballs, along with the lingonberry jam. There’s also a soup option that will change out seasonally along with a seasonal main dish. Right now that’s chicken breast with pumpkin sauce and I believe the soup is a tortilla soup, sometimes it’s chili. There’s also an egg sous vide thing. On top of all this there are ikea specific fountain drinks, including lingonberry juice, cola, coffee and tea, alongside lingonberry slushees and soft serve sorbet and sorbet vanilla ice cream swirl. AND ON TOP OF ALL THAT there is a whole damn Swedish food market inside the stores that carry’s IKEA brand candies, traditional Swedish bottled beverages, chocolates, fruit and nut bars, jarred sauces, frozen packaged food (most of what is in the restaurant), and non IKEA brand Swedish treats. How do I know this??? I work there. And I work at one of the smallest IKEAs in the US, so if we have it, one of the biggest stores should have it, and more. Hope there’s a part 2 or something!
