This video is an excellent show of skinnies doing what they do: Higher ground pressure per square inch means a LOT less slipping, controlled driving and excellence in tackling obstacles. Well done. I'm sold on these tires for my vehicle. Thanks again.
Mineral Creek is a good test for a vehicles suspension. Especially the optional obstacles. I am jealous. You had Oh Point all to yourself. It is always packed when I am there. You got some very nice drone footage. The views from ground level are great but the drone shows how expansive the outback really is. Nice place to end the day in a field of wildflowers. Especially all the Columbines. I wonder if the runner on Engineer was training for the Hardrock 100? It starts this coming Friday out of Silverton. Those runners are amazing. They run 100 miles in the mountains with altitude gain and loss of 33,000 feet. The record time is around 24 hours and the average time is close to 40 hours. Thanks for sharing!
Andrew St. Pierre White did a video about tires - overlanding in Africa and Australia they all prefer the narrower tires than we use here in USA. I had a set of narrow tires on my G-Wagen - never had an issue!
I live a long ways from Colorado, but I've always wanted to off road there. You've really inspired me to build my '08 FJ and adventure out that way. It's a long ways from flat Minnesota where I live! You do a great job on your videos! You're living a dream life there!
Thanks for the beautiful "armchair visit" to my favorite destination, Ouray, CO. -- only 813 miles from my home in southern California! I bought a patented mining prospect overlooking Bear Creek Falls some 30 years ago, and use it as a base camp for off-road adventuring in my 2007 FJ with a six-speed manual, full-time 4WD and 2.5" lift. About your new MT Baja Boss tires: Please cover how well they clear the rear of the front wheel wells, and whether you had to do the "usual" cutting and/or spacing required by wider 33-inch (and larger) tires. Many thanks, and best wishes on your adventures!
Thanks! As for the tires, I already had a body mount chop done and I'm running 1.25" wheel spacers along with a 3" lift and 1/2" body lift so my setup is far from stock, but with some additional trimming and hammer banging in the rear wheel wells I have no issues with rubbing unless I am going fast and completely bottom out the suspension in the front
5:47 that optional obstacle on Mineral, I love that one. Looks crazy to the new folks but just go straight and give it gas. I always try to get my Summit groups to do it.
Just purchased an FJ cruiser last month and look forward to some off Roading like this since I do live in Colorado. Amazing footage with the help of drones I guess
Just a suggestion for future videos, try to not pan the camera. One thing you'll notice in movies and tv shows or most high quality videos is that they don't pan or move the camera much if at all during the shot. Nice drone work.
Great video. Two years after and wow can’t imagine that trip, just hit my first fj 07’ 6sp manual and love it. It’s practically stock after all this time so it’ll be a fun build! How’d you manage fuel on the trip? Extra gallons carried at all?
I've heard that those skinny tires work good on rocks and snow. Looks like you removed your rear sway bar. If so how does it feel on the road? I'm thinking of doing it too. I remember all those trails from the FJ summit back in 2018.
Yep I've heard good things about them too and after the last couple days they have been great so far! And the rear sway bar being removed is barely noticable compared to removing the front sway bar, which I keep on since it's my daily driver. But yeah the trails are always awesome!

Glad it could help show what they can do! I've been very pleased with them that's for sure!
Wow, those are some incredible views. That's what most of our rides are about. Getting to see wonderful places and the adventure.
Stunning and absolutely beautiful footage! I hope to get my FJ out to explore those trails in CO one day. 👍

Amazing job I think the tires handled really well for you even in the skinnier size

Did you air down? Looks like you didn’t and it looks like you just just fine with those tires. I love my Baja boss ATs.
Nope I never aired down if I remember correctly 😂 I was just at like 32 psi the whole time. Would have been a softer ride if I had though!
Where is this place looking beautiful I want to bring my fj cruiser
Southwestern Colorado near the towns of Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, and Lake City
How were the new tires?
They were great! No problems and lots of success!!
where did you get that roof rack from? i am needing one for my fj
Baja Rack!
@@FJX2000_Productions appreciate it!
