I genuinely appreciate that you used Superman. Heros are almost never used for music like this. They're usually only on motivational workout music. To see the most true superhero used as a way to keep calm and focus genuinely puts me at ease and helps me focus on my masculinity.

I feel… different when I listen to this, like my perspective on life and everything is different, and in a good way. I’ve listened to many calming songs to silence the voices but this one is not like the rest, maybe because seeing Kal-El as the background makes my brain relate “super heroes” to positive thoughts, idk. I get a strong but strange sense of hope, empathy, and feeling wiser. This reminds me that in all the bad in the world, that there’s always something to enjoy and appreciate. Our perspective on life is one of the most, if not, the top contributing factor to our level of happiness. We tell ourselves that we’re only “surviving” when we’re living through tough times, maybe cut yourself some slack and realize it’s not that, but you have the mental strength to live for a better future, one that you deserve. Quit waking up just to ‘fight another day’, live to find something you can love and appreciate. It doesn’t matter how small it is, grab it and grow off it. Call me cringe or cheesy, but it’s true, perspective changes a lot, more than you realize… try it.
Truer words never spoken, friend. There's too many people in our day and age who I believe, myself included, that to be hopeful is the naïve thing to do or, as you pointed out, that embracing the goodness and positivity of life is cheesy.
The only issue is that we truly do live our lives off of those very things. And people ask for help while dealing with terribly hard things? It's usually a dash of hope that they're asking for, rather than physical assistance.
In a sense, we have been taught to lie to ourselves about the very food we need and want to live the lives we all wish for.
I was reading the comments and came across this. I read the post and began to cry silently, finally finding like minded people who sees the goodness like I do in the little things. Thank you so much for writing this , god bless you ❤

Arguably the best sequence of the entire Justice League movie! I will say forever that Henry Cavill's Superman was the Superman we should've seen on the big screen 1v1ing Darkseid for the fate of all creation (multiverses and all). Just imagine a fight between the two of them spanning the world itself and even going into space and the other heroes can do nothing to help Clark except cheer him on from Earth because they know that he would be able to hear them and the only thing they can see are shockwaves rippling through time and space from the force of their blows. The audience reaction to this would've made Capt America wielding Mjolnir against Thanos small by comparison.

Henry Cavill is our Superman
Christopher Reeve will forever be MY Superman, but Cavill is quite the powerful portrayer, as well. He gives Clark that very down-to-earth response in his struggle to live as a hero and an ordinary man with friends and family. And when there's danger, he always does not what is popular or any bandwagon agenda. He does what is right, and he always will. Superman will forever be one of my most beloved superheroes, because he embodies pure goodness.
Comic book superman is everyone's superman. He is the only superman done correctly, and the only superman that matters.
As I look at the image above and listen to the music, I find myself thinking about what young writers have done to Superman and other iconic characters. They take the main character and either change his race or add a version of him that is a different race and gender. Then they create the teen versions and even the baby versions, then they move on into creating an infinite supply of the character from different dimensions or different Earths and different times all coexisting and they call it a "family."
Pretty soon the original character and everything he stood for is forgotten.
The courage, conviction, strength of character, determination to do the right thing, the morals and values of the original Superman are diluted into a meaningless pile of super poop. You can't read a comic book or watch a movie because you don't know who that is anymore. You cannot identify with or invest in the character. He no longer has an identity.
But for just a moment, this picture up there reminded me of the Superman I grew up with. The symbol. Before he became just so much nonsense.
To everyone on this planet, May your life be filled with happiness, joy, laughter, love, peace, kindness and may you and all of your families and friends be blessed for eternity. This kind of music always reminds me of the piano part of "an ideal to strive towards" in the soundtrack for Man of Steel. That song exhilarates me more than words can express, and those little notes in the beginning genuinely help me feel the sun on my skin again.

This is why I like Snyder's version of Superman. You can identify with the character on a deeper level than previous versions, this music expresses his journey perfectly.

The scene near the end of the film, where Jonathan is working on his truck and he catches a glimpse of Clark playing with his puppy Hank, wearing a red towel on his shoulders is one of my favorite moments in Man of Steel.
You really get a sense of Jonathan's love for his son and how he can foresee the great things Clark will live to become. It sort of makes me wonder what my own father saw in me when I was a little boy, playing around. What kind of dreams he had for me.

The people on this page reciting lines from the movie, or claiming to be fans because of the movie, do not know who superman even is. Sad for them.

in a comic from a few years ago, superman publicly revealed that he was clark kent to the world. as you'd imagine, the story wasn't too heavy on action, but went all in on heart. from a captionless page of clark revealing it first to perry white, to jimmy olsen pranking him because lois had called and told him that morning (she's known jimmy longer than she's known clark, of course), every character beat hit just the right note. the end of the issue had clark (as superman) address the media and talk about how important it was for him to do this as the foremost champion of truth. to conclude the event, clark says the following:
"In my travels I get to see and hear people discover and rediscover themselves all the time. I get to see you find happiness you didn't even know was there - in fact, I see and hear it *every day*. That's a big part of what inspired me today...you. So what now? Well, I'm going to continue to be Superman. And I am going to find my way as Clark Kent...I love being a journalist. I know this is new and maybe confusing to some...but I'm so proud of my heritage, both from Krypton and Earth, and when I show up as Superman, I want to show up representing both parts of me at the same time. What happens THEN? I don't know. But...thank you for inspiring me."
this is what makes superman the greatest hero of all time, more than anything. movies recently have got it wrong, making him more a distant godlike alien, when the true strength of the character is that, even with all that power, he's just one of us. just a guy from kansas that moved to the big city.

I have seen people talking about their villain era, and on some level I understand that. You do what you want and stop giving a shit about others, which is a concept that can sound so cathartic for people pleasers and others who have a history of giving and giving but always being let down by others. But I don’t like the phrasing of that. I want to change, yes. I want to prioritize and care about myself more, and become better. But I can do that while still being a source of warmth and compassion for others who just need to see a bit of humanity when life has them in their knees. I should be more selective with who I give that level of care to, sure, and know I shouldn’t expect anything in return. But I can do that without reducing how much I care for the people around me.

Uh, Superman is not the best choice for the background of this video. This is especially true after reading one of the recent storylines of D.C.; I am talking about the "Injustice" story.
Here Superman snaps, after the Joker tricks him into killing his wife, Lois Lane. Superman is drugged into believing that Lois is "Doomsday" and takes her into outerspace, which kills her ( besides receiving a beating that only Doomsday can withstand). Superman kills Joker and proceeds to take over the Earth and install martial law under his own rule.
So yeah, to me Superman does not instill peace. Seriously, the dude is only one Lois Lane death away from going bonkers. Look what he did in Superman 1, after Lois dies in a car accident, he flies around the Earth in the opposite direction of the rotation of the planet, causing the planet to slow down its rotation, stopping and then start to rotate in the opposite direction. Do you realize what that did to everything that was not bolted down to the earth!?! What about altering the timeline? Even after being warned by Jor-Él , he still does it.
congratulations, you've missed the entire point of the character and just like to wallow in edginess. youre right about injustice, but youre missing what the point of it was: just a shock value attention grab, with no basis in actually doing the characters in it justice. superman has always stood for truth and justice, and while you focus on the bad stories written without caring about those things, you're ignoring the good stories that show what superman TRULY is.
read All-Star Superman, where he saves the entire cosmos from incomprehensible horror...and then takes the time to talk to one depressed kid and stop them from ending it all. watch Superman vs. the Elite, where he takes on a team of immensely powerful murderous super-sociopaths not just in battle, but in exchange of ideas as well, showing that there is ALWAYS a better way than violence in pursuit of ideals. read Superman: Ending Battle, where his showdown with a supervillain ends with the death of Lois...but Clark stays true, telling the villain that he would NEVER dishonor the memory of his wife by stooping to an act both he and Lois despise.
