I remember this being a "new song" to me when buying "The Muddy Banks of the Wishkah." When ironically it was one of their first. Back then you could only hear "New Nirvana" songs when finding outrageously priced bootlegs at Flea Markets or the rare B-Sides if you could find a single at the Mall. Now you are lucky enough to hear everything.
Sound exchange.i used to pay 35-40 for b side cds that had 2 or 3 songs that were from europe.
@@johnsellas4455 Well you were fortunate.
I got a Nirvana bootleg called " The Storm Over Seattle " it has a version of Something in the Way , that would make you look at that song differently.
It's heavy as all hell.
Someone posted it up...

It's a VERRRYYYY IMPORTANT NIRVANER SONG! its the sing that Krist heard and made him think "wow! This is really good! I wanna start or join this dudes band!"
Spank thru on the MUDDY BANKS CD is my one of my faves by the band. That version and the version of SCHOOL on there are the best recordings of the songs.
I remember seeing Sub Pop 200 in Blockbuster Music when I was a teenager alongside 14 Songs for Greg Sage and the Wipers. After Kurt’s death a lot of music stores were pretty much mining his stuff that when you seen a compilation album they would have a sticker attached to it advertising Nirvana tracks included.
Ya it’s crazy how his death led to show much rebranding of things, at least that rebranding of things gave a lot of the Nirvana rarity stuff more exposure. Could you subscribe if you already haven’t by the way? Lots more videos coming
I think I remember seeing a sticker on one of the albums I bought that read: “Now on tour with Nirvana!!!”🤣 As if records will be flying off the shelves with that sticker. 😂
@@sstaners1234 Thank you man! And ya I know, youtube notifications system is a bit confusing lol
I've come to realize that my favorite version of Spank Through is actually the Fecal Matter version. The comedy of it is really captured on that one, and Kurt coughing due to a cold is a bonus
I agree I think overall it’s better but I like the production of the sub pop 200 one. Could you subscribe if you already haven’t by the way? A lot more videos coming
When Jack brought up the tambourine I immediately thought of about a girl lmao 😭
this is "the" version of Spank Thru for me. it's my favorite song.
Pure GOLD Danny boy!!!!🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘💚🧡💚🧡🍻🍻✊✊
Thanks brother!
tambourine on a nirvana song, i feel like a noob lol
Haha lol. Could you subscribe if you already haven’t by the way Noel? A lot more videos coming
It's during the About A Girl solo in the background. That must be Jack.
I couldn't imagine the musical landscape without John Peel to be honest. So many great bands british and American that may have gone unheard or left by the wayside. Obviously not Nirvana but a lot of others.
You’re totally right Bryan, John Peel is extremely underrated in terms of his influence. Could you subscribe if you already haven’t by the way? A lot more videos coming
@@DanielSarkissian great to hear man. Been a subscriber for a good while now. Great channel. Can't wait for more vids. I was just thinking recently about the manic street preacher's and how I think Steve lamaq kinda took the helm from John peel regarding band exposure. I love old bands and was grateful to hear newer stuff like catfish and the bottlemen thank to Steve. If you haven't already you should check him out.
Thanks Bryan I really appreciate that! And appreciate the recommendation about Steve, I’ll definitely check him out! Hope you’re doing well :)
@@DanielSarkissian cheers man. I'm a complete Nirvana freak from Scotland and love all your videos and interviews with the people behind some of my favourite songs. Those songs have got me through some crazy times so its really cool getting the inside story on them.
Regarding Steve lamaq he was a reporter for the NME and was interviewing the manic street preacher's lyricist Richie Edwards when Richie cut himself writing "4 real" as Lamaq stated he thought the band were posers and I find it interesting that Richie vanished the night before their 1st American tour, which reminds me of Joy division's Ian Curtis sadly taking his own life just before their 1st American tour also. Maybe a video you could make 😉 🤔. I really appreciate your feedback and I look forward to more great videos.
Hi Daniel. Hope you are well. I have a quick question I hoped you might know about the recording of heart shaped box regarding guitars used?
can we find this compilation and buy it on net!??
Hey Sasko I’m not sure but I think it’s on youtube somewhere. Could you subscribe if you already haven’t by the way? A lot more videos coming
