I always love to see that Rajas still gets that bit of attention a few years after release. This one is dear to my heart because it launched me back into the hobby. I never fared that well with the classics: "catan, carcassone, Andor, TTR". And playing Eclipse then almost catapulted me out XD Now I tend to lean to the heavier games (although I still have a limit when it comes to time .... stilll looking at you Eclipse :p ), and Rajas was a great step in that direction, and I often use it these days for showing people. Yes the board is busy, yes there are different paths you need to keep up with but in the end it isn't that difficult to figure out and you can handle it ;)
Great review format! Fortunately I have room for this and other similar games. I think the variety that Rajas has with the advanced game, (better way to play), and the available modular mini expansions keep the game interesting and engaging. This has shot up my list of Euro dice games and I would put it toe to toe with the likes of Voyages of Marco Polo, Lorenzo il Magnifico, Grand Austria and Coimbra!
I've been interested in this one as it reminds me of Voyages of Marco Polo which I really like. Great review! I like being able to see the board and visualize how it plays.
Am I the first one watching this one? 😅 Looking forward to what you think, it's a medium weight eurogame I enjoy (and like you, I don't always enjoy those anymore).
Have not come across this one yet. Another from 2017, the year with my most games. Sub for this one!

Hope you can do a review of the dice version
Glad to see your positive review of this game.
