that guy connecting the electric could have been the first Jamaican astronaut if he had got it wrong...go rasta ,me a sparky too.. respect from Ireland
I guess many people do not understand how good and normal this video is until they are the ones to put up a system like that in working order. You all seem bright minded!
I was incredibly excited to see what came out of the first truck. The anticipation and suspense was tremendous! Then for a moment I didn't know if I should laugh or cry when I saw those sad Mackies. I didn't give up and I watched-on. Solid video. Cool to see how it's done in Jamaica. But you had me scared for a moment there... lol!
And when the fete is over they have to pack it back up, then unpack it from the truck when they get back home. Music is hard work, respect to the sound systems crews
I miss Jamaica. if mi Inna mi bed n hear this mi know seh a mad thing lata.. love when sound just a. string up. love the sound tracks n the oldies they play.. bless up.

its good to know that knobs on the amps are attenuating the input level. always good to be cranked up all the way. set levels from your processor/controller.
Dont worry about the negativity.. You know how da ting go.. You guys inspired me to become a DJ and invest in my own speakers all the way from Florida.. Bless up and keep spreading sound 👊🏾
For all u knows it all people ,who does destructive criticism, this is the same method that has built and propelled reggae music so that the rest of the world can enjoy.we dont talk a lot like lots of you first world people who wouldnt
Makes sure you have the best Mosquito repellent, you might need it but by all means don't be put off by visiting this beautiful island/country. Jamaicans don't joke when it comes to a party.
Some of you guy in here is full of shit. Not every sound system owner can afford top tier equipment, for you to come in here and say what a man should or shouldn't have in his amplifier rack is not needed. Not all of us have 3 or 4 people spending in a sound system, some of we have families and this is a hobby. I buy what I can afford until I'm able to upgrade in the future. Far too many times we only seek to point of the bad instead of highlighting the good. For those of you who have a problem please put your own sound system together and show us how it's done. If not then shut the fuck up. Thank you
That's the way it is! I completely agree with your comment and I'm also sorry that people are in the habit of making references to this or that equipment, for nothing. This is not a good thing. Good it is when someone observe, listen (not on UA-cam), draw sound technical conclusions and recommends the sound service to a new customer. That is what makes the owner of a somehow poor equipment make money and can invest in better equipment. Greetings from Portugal.
Wow ; i am amazed at the skill set these dudes have in setting up sounds from back then till now; i can't even get my son to reply per text on an iPhone....just ingenious
Muito massa sou apaixonado por musicas tenho uma balhaninha tbm mais nao chega nem nos pes dessa ai muito maneiro muito ave com o Maranhão (jamaica brasileira)
Back in the good ole days, having this much equipment was the standard but in 2015 - 2017 you don't need all that. Two Lab.gruppen PLM 20k44 amps. One DBX driverack 4820 Controller. Add whatever mixer and audio source you want. For speakers: Two Danley Sound Labs SH60s and bass, Two TH118s.
Esos poderes QSC son de lo mejor y tú crossover mis respetos para el equipo que traes yo aquí en México también tengo sonido aunque aquí se toca más cumbia y salsa
Any distortion is from the camera mic, as all of the RED clipping LEDs on the amps are almost solid! lol At 24:45 the distortion is gone and the MIC sounds just fine. So it can be made clean after all!
Well they are distorting like mad (clipping in other words outputting flat topped waves to the speaker and creating noise) but then who can tell chronic distortion and noise from music in Jamaica?
The goal is LOUD. Notice how they only have 3 QSC amps for that rack of speakers. Distortion is normal. So is blown gear. Loved the on site electrician and electrical safety. A very cringe worthy system. This type of installation is more common than not for carnival. Hearing protection is highly recommended. Some mobile parade systems are running on multiple 5KW contractor generators to run the equipment. They don't bother with silent generators. They just drown them out.
Same here , I grew up in Trinidad and always had that sound system passion ... Great video and I enjoyed watching these two sound system equipment and wish I could have been there just to experience this ....
Hi! I'm from Barranquilla-Colombia and here we've got sound systems as well but we call them pick up ! Every sound system has a name to identify it a Dj who plays African Music and champeta music! Champeta is a Caribbean genre!
Where about Manchester are you guys from? I own Angel Eyes Sound from Grovetown, look like Puseyhill. Link up, would love to book for anniversary in April
Sometime in April, finalizing the details. Daroyalgeneral you are right, I had to prove myself playing along King Klepto in St. Mary a few years back. You have to play your style of play and you good
+Grovetownyute74 This is where is all began, back in the day you had to do the running of the wires, hooking up the currant wire, lifting equipment, if you were lucky you would play early warm. That's when a selecta would have to play foundation chunes until the main selecta come to the dance. So if you are on the sound for a while you would graduate to the main selecta. As a result you know quite a few things about the sound. From stringing up the sound to trouble shooting any problems that may come up during the dance. Now everyone with a laptop is a selecta. If I ask them to play an hour of quality foundation chunes, you hear the same things stone love, black kat, Bass Odyssey and the rest of big name sounds playing. They have no identity, you can learn from the elders but implement your ways and style into it making it unique to you and you alone. They Label Angel Eyes Sound as a foundation sound, however I'd like to think that we are just a sound. When I decided to make the sound in 2005 I was Iraq in the military at the time. The first cd I bought was the best of Studio One Vol.1, the first Dub I cut for the Sound was three John Holt, Stealing Stealing, Burial Camp And Tonight. I made sure that we would never have any problem playing foundation chunes, I pride myself in having the ability to play anything. I can play along side any sound, I may not have as much Dubs as they do but lets be honest Dubs don't even buss dance like that. It can but you have to know when to play them. Fit them in to your Juggling. From R & B, Rap, Soul, Mento, Ska, Reggae, Dancehall, Country and western. My greatest joy as a sound man is spending time going through my catalog gathering chunes and presenting them to the fans and seeing the reaction on their faces when they hear the quality songs being played. Some they might know and some they hear for the first time. Anyone can tell me when was the last time you heard Stone Love in a clash? Quite a long time. Stone Love can play multiple places in one night, and the quality of the music never alters. Remain the same

Love, Honor and Respect to Spida Sound Systems. The men are extremely hard workers because it is not easy setting up Sound Systems.

So awesome, Love the sound Love the vibe! Peace!
Nice to see all the red clip lights on all night long.
💀
QCS amps can take loads of rough treatment
Peter Gordon the only problem with qsc is the dapning factor
Notice how they are all set to about 1/3 volume? Everything before the amps is probably maxed out haha
Men i i miss that kind of setup we use to setup big events like and that tap on the wire we do that lol men mis that the old days back in tge 90s
