These features are actually available in the recently released playable demo, but aren't in the main game yet. We will update as soon as we can with a fresh analysis.

Ethan Sequeira neither of those statements are true. Just because it doesn't perform well on your console doesn't mean it's "unrefined," whatever that even means. It scored very well, and it runs great on capable hardware.
Hi Guys @DigitalFoundry.... You should have waited some days mores for this nice comparison. With new patch 3.0 you have a new option to have graphic settings on the X to Higher Framerate/Better Graphics/Higher Resolution with a new Option on top in the Visual Effects Options. You may/should analise the new DEMO for PS4/XBOX One that was released a couple of days ago. On the Demo you can vary the resolution and frame rate :-). Please Please update this video with that DEMO :-). Thanks for you awesome reviews :-).

At some parts I kinda agree with him, because before the Xbox one X patch (not the new one), the game was running at 60fps on the X. then SMS launched the One X patch...and it increase the resolution...but tearing and drop of frames have appeared...but now (with the DEMO is really clear), you can play the game in 4K (with less graphic details) mostly at 60fps or you can have 60 fps LOCKED and a lower resolution (perhaps 1440p? ). So, I hope they can update this video with the new options from the DEMO, or with the next week patch 3.0
I was really really good impressed with the performance improvements in the DEMO (that are going to be moved to the patch 3.0), and the improved quality at my 4K screen.

BLADE 1513 I own both. I don't think this shows the developers dont care. They put more resources into dynamics. You can change the time of day and weather of every single track in PC2. Forza limits some tracks - many have no rain, even more have no night racing available. Some only allow day races at the same time of day.
That’s what happens when a game is developed exclusively for the hardware.
Third parties never have such care because it’s supposed to work on everything so works best on nothing -we’ll excluding PC where often they compensate for unoptimised games by throwing raw power at it.

I shifted from a PS 4 pro to xbox one x 2 weeks ago and i am happy. All games look better runs smoother, than on the pro. Feels like smooth high end pc. Games i compared are Call of duty ww 2, Rise of the Tomb raider, Destiny 2, The elder Scrolls online, assasins creed origins. Only sold 30% more PS than xbox, so plenty of gamers there

Guys, now after the dust has settled can somebody share his experience PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X? I still have a 32 Full HD TV. Is the difference between consoles that noticeable? Looks like in some cases the PS4 Pro offers a more balanced performance/resolution ratio, doesn't it?
46fps.. I don't own either consoles (nor do i want either), but if i had to choose to play one of the two for this game i would choose the Pro for better framerate. It's just more important to me than resolution.

There's a patch coming that includes three modes. Resolution, Quality and Framerate. The patch is going to be available on both Pro and X.

Thanks for comparing this game on both consoles but there is a huge patch 3.0 incoming very soon which will have different settings for graphics, so the timing of your review is a bit sadly chosen. The new PCARS 2 demo already has this option. Would be great to see an updated review after that patch has been applied.

MtMarshi yes my brother that is the huge difference is not a pad based game also the physics is and realism is much different than any other title (not assetto corsa) I mean that they are parts even in a straight line that the road is not flat and if you pass from that specific part you will upset the car the problem is with the pad you don't have an idea why the heck that happened and you will begin to blame the game... No... Wrong the game is the best sim available in consoles

I've been enjoying it so far. If I never seen the video I wouldn't have known it played so bad. I heard there was a demo out and it is enhanced for the X. Tried it last night and was pleasantly surprised at how much better it looked. There's are three options: Enhanced visuals, high res, and high fps.

I don't know about DF but I as a gamer I demand that Sony, MS and the developers do better. I know that these are after thought "patches" but moving forward these updates should be on the disc/day one codes for all new games. This Mid-generation is as disappointing as it can be.
I got a One X on Black Friday, and as a performance enthusiast I'm quite frustrated with all these cases of the Pro having higher frame rates. The power is there, but developers seem to be consistently pushing it too far.
The hell with "4K", I'm transiting over to VR soon! Got my wheel setup and my play space ready for room scale based games. HTC Vive, here I come!
Nyxtroos, believe it or not those haptic peripherals already exist along with the wireless adapters. Honestly, if you're unsure about VR, check your local stores and see if they're offering Demos (Bestbuy/Microsoft Store). My Microsoft store has Vive and Rift demos. My mom and a few family members weren't convinced as they had previously tried my Gear VR. But once they put on that Vive/Rift all of them had a smile or the "wow" expression on their face lol. I played Space Pirate Trainer and was left shaking, and I'm not even out of shape 😆. I suggest you go try it out for yourself as no matter how descriptive I can be, seeing is believing. But....if you can't find a demo station, the Rift includes 2x Controllers, 2x sensors (you'll want 3 for the best possible tracking), and 6 games for $350 USD. The Vive's $600 USD with a bundled Deluxe Audio Strap, 2x Controllers, 2x sensors (You only need 2x), Fallout 4 VR, and a few other games.
i bought an XBX just for Forza 7, took me 2 days to download the 4K patch, and it was totally worth it

I agree when it comes to racing resolution matters most, Its very important to look ahead of the track with no aliasing artifacts as much as possible. They should repatch to follow the ps4 pros strategy more pixel count with no upgrade in draw distance for grass, shadows, objects on map and track. Maybe track texture resolution and anisotropic filtering.

Honestly, the problem isn't with either the hardware of the Pro or X, the problem sides with negligence from the devs.
Let's look at Fallout 4 again:
Pro patch released and it was running WORSE on the Pro than the base version was running on the base PS4 Pro, this has all got to do with rushing and whatnot.
I personally would rather have them keep the 1080p resolution and just having it run at 60 FPS or with improved overall visuals rather than upgrading the resolution to 1440p-2160p and giving us WORSE performance than the base counterpart.
Theoretically, both Pro and X can perfectly handle current gen games at 60 FPS with 1080p resolution, thing is that these kids have no IT experience and base their arguments solely on shit optimization from devs.
There is simply no excuse this game should be dropping below 60 FPS at all on the X.
They need to get back to the drawing board.
This is where you speak with your wallet and instead of bashing the console's hardware.
I've so far been very disappointed with what they've done with Pro updates, X has been doing slightly better (because negligence is easier to get away with on hardware that's straight up 20-30% stronger), but they could still do better with a little bit of effort.
Devs these days only care about maximizing revenue, by cutting development months short and focusing on adding microtransaction holes rather than actually giving us a finished and fun game worthy of its base price.

I used to care about graphics and I still do, but I have to admit 4K or not, we've reached a level where most games look amazing! You have to be seriously nitpicky to complain about most of the flaws with AAA titles today. I've been gaming since the Atari and I'll admit I'm a long time Playstation fan. That being said, I've owned every major console, excluding Nintendo (I stopped buying after the Gamecube) and each console has it's merits. Hating on the competition can be annoying to most, but it's that passion that drives developers to work harder and console manufacturers to create better hardware. The PS4 Pro and Xbox X exist because of fanboys who are driven and wholeheartedly defending their consoles of choice. IMO health competition can only drive the industry forward and we as consumers benefit from that. If todays arguement is to zoom 600% into a game to find the most minute differences, then I think we as gamers are more entitled and spoiled than we thought....

The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X consoles should be targeting 1080p at 60 frames per second and beyond with graphics maxed out. It'd make the games more immersive because you have all of the details and wouldn't have any frame rate issues, except for in situations with poorly optimized games!

The upgrade from Pro to the X here is massive. DF continually glosses over the downgrades on the Pro in these comparisons. The game barely ever gets to 1440p on the Pro and spends much of its time way over that on the X. The huge list of graphical upgrades the X has over Pro is easily spotted at 720p res on my phone here. Textures , shadow detail, lighting, reflections, draw distance and LOD are all easily much higher on the X as the reviewer notes. That’s well and good, but to hear DF say “it’s hardly noticeable “ is hilarious. These are the same guys that handed GTA 5 on PS4 the win because it had some more blades of grass, even though the xb1 had a better frame rate at the same resolution. So here we have the X1 trouncing the Pro @ every level... But because it drops to 50fps when 30 cars on screen in a lightning storm the win goes to the Pro?

I bought the PS4 Pro Destiny 2 edition as it was on sale on Amazon and I'm happy with my purchase. It was $350 and I feel the extra $150 you would have to spend for the Xbox One X would not be worth it. Yes the X has much more power but is it worth the money. I'd rather just buy the Pro for my 4k TV to play PS4 exclusives and use a PC to play Xbox "exclusives" and do more hardcore gaming

While Chong expresses the need for the game to hit 60 FPS, Studio Head Ian Bell has previously said that a pure 4K/60 FPS performance will not be possible on console, even on Xbox One X, describing it as "sub 60 FPS at 4K."

It's slightly more pixels than 1440p but looks WAY better.
Same goes for PS4 Pro. This horrible habit of developers to push more graphical effects instead of even just "slightly" more resolution for a huge boost in clarity is really hurting the industry.

Prizzy this is just like final fantasy. The pro may have slight better framerates with a downgrade in resolution but it's clearly the optimization of the developers. Even sqaure enix admitted this. I think this will continue to happen till devs know how to work with these consoles more. Also gotta keep in mind we are already seeing the max potential drawn out of the ps4 pro and the x still has a lot of potential.

It was marketed as having true 4k games, it does (more than just a handful), and Phil Spencer said its up to the dev to put in the effort to make them run in true 4k, thats not the consoles fault if the dev cant be bothered or doesnt know how, but the fact of the matter is the console can run games at native 4k, so nobody lied.
