I was restringing the Eye Paul Coll signature frame a few months back, and for the life of me I couldn't get the 2nd main to stay on top when going through the same grommet hole the 2nd time. Very frustrating! I ended up sticking an Awl on top of the bottom string creating a "wall" to the string I was pulling tension on so it would lock and stay on top. You live and learn as you string! Haha. Nice work. (also jelly of that electronic tension head)
Thanks, buying wise tensioning head was a really good move. Stringing is so much easier now. The best way learn it's actually doing few of these rackets. Its just important to pay attention not to cross strings over other (specially after passing through shared holes),so there is no twists inside and crossovers outside of the frame.
If I want string to stay on top then I pass from below string bed (check at 4:45 on video) and pulling other string to top with my fingers. But I know what you mean, it can be frustrating.
For the mains I measure 14x lengths of mains and 18.5x for crosses (depend of racket ,usually number of crosses + 0.5 lenght of cross string), but you can only do that short if you have starting clamp. Otherwise add an extra length for mains and crosses to be sure you have enought of string to tie off.
this is so helpful for the new Sonic Core Revelation 135, thanks man don't ever delete this video please, thanks!!
