I love that it’s not a slow burn 👏 I neeeed my library to obtain a copy pls I had so many theories on Home Before Dark but none of them were correct 😂 Ooo From Below sounds like what I need from a sea horror book Fantastic Land sounds horrifying by being set in FL alone 😂 I love to see it. I need more books set in Florida I loved hearing your thoughts on your favorite horror from 2023. Thank you for the recs! 😌❤ 😱👻💀🔪🕷️
thanks! yes I appreciate how Andrew just dumps you right into the mess... like how did I get here but why do I love it lol. yes omg From Below ! I may even re-read it .. would be a fun one to read at the beach or the pool 😳 haa those FL beaches look beautiful though.. but I know if I were to ever visit they'd be like omg the biggest hurricane in history is here (just my luck 😆) thanks and you're welcome! 👻✨
Just found your channel! I ended putting a few of your recommendations on my TBR list 😊 was already goimg to subscribe and then saw we have identical cats LOL ❤😂 Immediate subscribe!
Nice!! Hope you enjoy it. Grady is a cheeky bastard and I love him for it 🤣 I still have to read We Sold Our Souls and Final Girl Support Group. Not sure on How to Sell a Haunted House.. the puppet thing .. lol
Great to discover your channel! Head Like a Hole sounds awesome, love the cover. We Have Always Live In The Castle was a 5 star read for me. I love horror set in amusement parks so Fantastic land will be added to my tbr. I still need to read Grady Hendrix! Cute Kitty, thanks for the recommendations!
Thanks, Cliff! Yes FantasticLand is a fun one! I love the amusement park/carnival setting too. So far from Andrew Van Wey I've read Head Like a Hole, Grim Horizons (short stories), and By the Light of Dead Stars, which I just got the sequel to, Tides of Darkness.. another cool cover! I still have a couple more Grady novels to read, but Horrorstor has been my favorite so far. 😸
I can't get enough of the 90s! I need a time machine 😂 awesome glad to hear hope you enjoy them! lemme know if you do (if you can and remember no pressure). aw thank you! and thanks for watching. 😊
That shirt is amazing!! Ugh We have always lived in the castle has been on my list for so long. I really need to prioritize it. Actually so many books on here are on my list lol. From below, episode thirteen, the mary shelley club and the honeys 😂 Into the sublime is on my radar from your wrap up video!! 🖤💀👻
oh yes I have! how funny I actually had a clip of me mentioning that book but I cut out the clip. Sadly I think I might have built up the expectation too high and it didn't really work for me. I love the premise though! SciFi/Horror is one of my faves. Glad you enjoyed it 😊 I know others did as well. I am going to give the author another shot and read The Death of Jane Lawrence. It sounds like an unsettling gothic fic.
Hey there good-looking! Yes it's been awhile but I'm still around had a few problems recently. I just got out of therapy, had a medical problem but I'm alive! As always it's refreshing to see your pretty face! I told Ryan about the prblem I had recently though and all is well, I'm recovering
Tony!! gtsy 😄 sorry to hear of the recent health challenges and hope things get better for you. thanks for stopping by! will be catching any of Ryan's streams? I still have my TLAV playlist public so if you want to find his most recent pirate channels, they'll be there. no pressure just thought I'd share. 🤗💛
I agree with you on The Haunting of Hill House. It didn't really do it for me either. Maybe because I already knew the story from the series and films. Although the screen adaptions change things here at there. Especially the recent series. I found the book quite flat to be honest.
oh yes that's right I have seen the movie! I haven't seen the recent series but I imagine they'd have to amp it up a bit for the screen.. keep people's attention. HHH gets the most attention but I thought We Have Always Lived in the Castle deserves some too! ☺
Well I knew nothing about The Haunting of Hill House before reading it and I thought it was a 3 star read. Nothing particularly special and I was certainly not really afraid at any point.
I love that shirt!!! You had me at set in the 90's with NIN song title for Head Like A Hole! So many books to add to my TBR!! From Below sounds amazing!!!
Me 😂! I saw NIN in concert, back when they toured with the Jim Rose Circus. And I also loved Head Like a Hole. I have to read that other Van Wey book soon. I liked From Below and Into the Drowning Deep. Even though you were disappointed, I would still recommend the novella Rolling in the Deep. I loved it, and it gets right to the water and the action. And Sacculina by Philip Fracassi is another good ocean horror. The Haunting of Leigh Harker is my favorite Coates so far.
yay! awesome another old school NIN fan. 😄 hope you love Van Wey's other book! I also read his short story collection Grim Horizons and have others of his on my TBR. Oh yes that's right! I heard the novella Rolling in the Deep was really good.. maybe I will venture out and try it. Sacculina! yes that is on my Master TBR but I'll have to bump it up now, especially since I'll be reading more ocean based stuff during the summer. I've never read anything by him so excited to check it out. thanks for the recs!
I need to read head like a hole already! It has been on my kindle, so I always forget I have it. NIN was my first concert! A few of these are on my shelves just waiting for me to finally get to them. Great top 15!
oh I think you would enjoy Head Like a Hole 😄 yay! NIN as first concert - awesome! one of the two times I saw them they played with Jane's Addiction. thanks! hope you get some 5⭐s from your shelves!
some of these sound so good! kinda wanna read head like a hole for the vibes. mary shelley club still on my tbr. and def gonna read we have always lived in the castle! omg horrorstor immediatley intrigued me cuz im obsessed with ikea LOL ps ur cat is soooo cute
Ocean horror is THE BEST! I need to read more. I also was underwhelmed by Mira Grant’s book but I enjoyed the writing. There was just too many characters 🤪. The atmosphere in From Below is probably the best that I’ve ever personally read! Im so glad you loved Into the Sublime. Its soooo good. I love subterranean horror 👻
yes! I'm on the hunt for all the ocean and cave horror. I had been so hyped for Into the Drowning Deep too 😣 I loved Middlegame so I thought it'd be another banger lol.
what are some of your favorite horror books? 😄

Have you read the luminous dead? It’s a mix of ocean / underwater horror and cave exploration and it’s so good
