Awesome video. I will be taking the Tokaido shinkansen on the 2nd April down to Kyoto in the Green Car section using a JR pass. Hopefully the Green Car will be quieter than the rest of the train. I really liked the potel. Never heard of potel being used as a word for accommodation before. The only potel I know is in my native language Welsh. It means a bottle. There are so many things to do in the potel - I'd love to sit down and listen to some of the records in the music room. Your room was lovely and had a nice balcony. The dinner was incredible. The room you had was a pleasant surprise with the terrace view so expansive,. It was also interesting to see all the families coming out with the restrictions no longer in place. You must notice the difference daily in people traffic. The music room was a nice idea, with a variety of music you could just chill or dance for awhile. I hadn't heard about that before, but this hotel seems to have a lot of restful places to go. I liked that you took a fast train to the station then had a healthy run with your four legged companion. Obviously you were excited to be there and the run back home will be nice with your new dog. The opening scenes are always amusing but I'm sure everyone will remember what they need to take to get to the destination. Ha, Ha. Clever You!! I always ask you this but I can only imagine what you see. Did you have a chance to catch the sunrise and sunset and was the moon and stars out?? Your view was incredible!!!! Take Care, I can also imagine a smile from one side of the mask to the other, but I'm sure your eyes would be twinkling. I can see those twice a week sometimes and they are always beautiful, even more so lately, I would guess!! HeeHee.🥰😌🥰🤗🤭😊🥳☺🥰

I'm from the USA and half of the foods for breakfast would be, like, dinner over in the USA. Also, a raw egg in rice? Not in the USA, we're constantly warned that raw eggs will give you salmonella. It's so fascinating to see that, and even though I've watched several of your videos, it always catches me off guard to see soup, tofu, rice, etc. for breakfast
There must of been a kids event going on at the hotel or nearby, I've NEVER seen so many strollers at a Japan hotel lobby Thanks for the usual great video!

This hotel is a really nice all-inclusive place, but what is your opinion for who it is made for? I mean, if I was a tourist or someone who has never been to Kyoto, I may only be there to sleep because I want to see the city and sites, which seems like a waste to stay in such a nice place. That hotel feels more like a destination experience... I am going to Kyoto /just/ to stay at that place and not leave. Maybe that is why there were so many families there. I would really like to hear your thoughts on it...
If you visit Kyoto for the first time, you should stay in areas like Shijo, and Karasuma which are downtown. But if you visit Kyoto 2nd time or more, you can stay here :) or maybe on the last day for the 1st trip.
I think it's amazing to take a cup of coffee on this terrase at the sunrise. And Anna, one more question for you - with JR-pass can I reserve seat online or I must use only non-reserve seats?
