Never played the LEGO Island games. What I did have was LEGO Creator, a program that let's you build whatever you want using virtual LEGO bricks and then move them around. However, the PC I was running it on wasn't really up to the task, and whenever it was in play mode, the framerate was, uh, well, it wasn't frames-per-second as much as it was seconds-per-frame.
Fun fact: The lore behind this game is the same as GTA. Basically, the United States has a massive outbreak of crazy people, so they move all of them to their various overseas territories.
This actually makes sense. It is how there can be 3 Liberty City's, and 2 Los Santos. They're all islands that co-habit the same world. Thank you for this.
@@erc3338 No, not even slightly. Edit: old comment now but GTA's islands are an artistic choice to have borders without an invisible wall, you're typically never actually on an island.
I hope he'll stream Lego Island Xtreme Stunts aswell at some point. That's the one I used to play on my moms PC, and I remember copying it onto CD's and sharing it with friends from my school.
They put effort into the weirdest parts of this game. Skate Park is entirely optional but there are so many tricks. And if you press Enter near the butterflies, they start following you for some reason.
Never used to like this. But have a new love for it watching this. It's almost like they made the sequel after watching Joel's stream. "Now, what rhymes with brick"... Just listen to the Brick by Brick cover 😉
I was super confused when you played the first game, since I didn't remember it being so ridiculous and janky ... now I realize I played Lego island 2 as a kid, and it is just as ridiculous and janky.
This game is what it's like inside Joel's mind.

The fact that he was piloting the helicopter in complete fog with 9/11 written everywhere on the screen is concerning

I never played any of the Lego games when I was a kid so I am glad I can get some vicarious nostalgia from Joel and chat.
I only played the Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman lol
Shout-out to that person in the chat who said, “Joel you’re THAT guy?” when Joel asked everyone to laugh. Great callback.
9:46 the screams of the damned
why do all the voices sound like Joel
This game never existed. This is just a projection of the inside of Joel's psyche.
I'll let ya in on the secret: Joel went back in time to sneak into the developer studio and changed all the sound files with his own recordings.

Okay but whats the name of the song with DA BLOST?
D Kay - Monolith. However the COMING BACK WITH THE BLOST part was added for GTA III. The original track is an instrumental piece.
