- Typical HVAC cost of capacitor replacement is $200 to $300. For a $20 part. Add in that they typically fail during the hottest time of the year, when HVAC techs are slammed and can't get right out to you. It can cause some miserable conditions for you and your family. It's all a negative situation that is completely avoidable.
Watch this video, buy the capacitor off of Amazon, and place in on the shelf. Even if you do not possess the electrical know how on how to perform the job safely, I bet you know someone that does. And when your AC quits working, look at this first!!!

Uhh yeah noo sorry your condenser doesn't control your thermostat or give it power. That would be your Air Handler in your attic or possibly closet. The air handler is what your thermostat is wired to. Your tstat wire runs through your house to wherever your AH is and then is wired directly to the AH or a Zone board, which would have multiple thermostats wired to it and would open and close dampers to regulate the temperature througout the areas of the house it controls. Now as for the compacitor. I have no complaints
Why this product vs the regular capacitor which costs much less?
This one you should buy now. Unless you want to stock every type of capacitor you have installed.
IMO better to have a universal, temporarily swap it when it fails, then order the cheaper one, replace it. And put your universal back on the shelf to use again.
Swapping a capacitor only takes anyone 15 mins.
It’s cool to that a universal capacitor may help out a family member or neighbor in need to save them some money too.
@@CoyotefiftyF100 Unless you're a homeowner, and not in the business. In that case it's a whole lot better to just have a couple extra caps specific to the mf of your unit. Much cheaper than having these.
