- This is my tribute to Grandia 2, the best RPG I've ever played,
I really love this game, especially the part with Ryudo and Melfice.
Sadly I had to cut some parts cause else the video would be too long,
anyways - have fun watching.

people said Grandia I was the best Grandia...but for me, nothing will ever be able to beat Grandia II. This was by far the best JRPG ever made and I am sad FF got to live on while this series just vanished even though it was way better in terms of story, characters and battle system.

I’d say it’s around the same level as ff7, but ff7 is hype

imo does flying tenseiken lesser damage than purple lightning for its sp costs

Mareg's voice actor did a fantastic job too. His delivery to Melfice when they first find him was leagues above the others.
as well as Ryudo and others. It's just emotions of Elena sometimes were strangely reflected by voice, but still it's cute. And yeah, tried to play with japanese voices - damn no.
funny you guys say that because back in the day i remember people always saying besides ryudo and melfice everyone else was kinda average

It's true, Grandia 1 and 2 were amazing, but then they dropped the ball. It's like they thought "This series is popular now, let's push out some crap to sell based on the name alone."
Not really. You just have to look at Indie games as the new paradigm for gaming since big business has cornered the gaming industry.

I wish this game was remade! With the same battle system, but its just a fools dream...Grandia is my favorite 3D RPG and i consider its battle system the best turn based battle system ever made.

To this day my favorite rpg since 99 ahhh good times this is the game that really got me into the genre. I played finally fantasy but this game the story the humor the depth of it all really sucked me in. I would so love a remake of this game the battle system was very fun and revolutionary i haven’t seen anything quite like it. Thanks for the upload

Man, I always loved the dude's voice who played Ryudo. He was so awesomely over-the-top dramatic. I played through the game multiple times and always got excited to see this parts for some reason. lol

I remember when my friend first introduced me to this game,at first I thought "This probably won't be that great,but it'll be something to play" You have no idea how happy I was that I was dead wrong and this fight...hoo boy...this fight...lots of...painful memories of getting wrecked,usually by Demon Horde Slash or Wailing Soul Slash.

Most people think his laugh's annoying but I think it's pretty badass. Constantly cold and condescending, expressing his contempt at the futility of their efforts. In a way it kinda sums up exactly what kind of person he is just by hearing it.
Also, 10 years after playing this, I've realised that he kinda sounds like Pierce Brosnan.

though ryudo is still one of the most manliest jrpg main protaganist ever, even if this scene comes across a little cheesy, he's well aware that power corrupts and that sadism is flat out wrong and he tries to convey this to his brother, the guy who he grew up with, even the manliest of men would get emotional over it, heck even dante cry's when vergil dies.
it's not the ps2 nor the dreamcast version, it's the PC version ;)

if you guys really wat another grandia sequel the i suggest you should write a letter to gamearts company and tell why you want another grandia game and also what did you like about it, i'd suggest using formal language in order to persuade game arts and make sure you be specific about the game too, i sended my letter off to game arts website if you want to know how to do it just go on to their website and you should see contact link
Unfortunately a lot more effort seems to go into graphics or difficulty than touching and developing stories these days in JRPGs (see FFXIII) Nothing like the first 2 grandia games or FF games up to X or Dark Cloud/Chronicle are made any more because they focus on big visuals too much to realise that what people really want is a fantastic story.
and Western RPGs focus far too much on independence/making your own character unique than immersing stories with lovable characters
@MelficeSephiroth I did'nt say the story was bad, i fact your right, i feel grandia 2 has the best good god vs evil god backstory in gaming (The reveliton of the fact that Valmar won was to me as shocking as when Darth Vader told Luke he was his father in ESB) and i feel sorry for grandia 2 because it's a wonderful game that never reached the height's it deseverd :( But im glad it hs a legion of devotee's (me and you inclued)

Grandia 2 had a huge impact in my life, it got into RPG's and is one of my all time favourites, It's in my top 20, my top 15, my top 10, my top 5 hell, it's even in my top 3 games of all time list's. the Story was decent but sure hey, you dont play a game for story (you read a book for that purpose) The Characters were colourful and lovable, the music was amazing and the Gameplay was so unique and revolutionary that im suprised it never big on the field.

You guys i checked on google news and it seems that game arts need a little bit more money in order to start the development of grandia 4, which can mean that if they had enouh money they might make another sequel well we just have to be patient but the best way is we should write a letter to game art too :)
He's giddy with excitement. He's trying to think of what he can do to make his brother suffer horribly, and yet there are too many ways to do this. Some of which are so unspeakably cruel, that its hilarious...to him...
That's what why he's heh heh'ing on the outside, while he's all LMFAO on the inside.
I remember this battle... after fighting this guy like 50 times and power leveling like abitch i realized that the only way for me to beat him was to use earthquake from marek and tia. the rest was all power attacks out of my ass. and 3 of my 4 characters were still dead by the end of that fight.
His regenorater (that thing on his shoulder that does the weird laugh) sounded a lot cooler on the Dreamcast. But anyways, thanks for the upload, Melfice is my favorite character in this game.
Grandia 2 rocked Sky Dragon Slash was my 2nd favorite of ryudos move first was Tenseiken Slash but they Shouldve Given Ryudo Some Power With the horns of valmar that wouldve been cooler
That bastard Melfice made me have to start my game over, JUST so I could grind more and be around his level. SONOVABITCH! This game was my favorite RPG back in the day.
@RyudoXy I got that after finishing the DC version, most of the videos are wrong :( And they don't speak when they attack, only at spells and techniques.

Ryudo will always be greatest male protagonist of all RPGs. Strong leadership and strong character development. I wish every male protagonist will be like Ryudo. 💙

Holy balls, my entire team was level 33 when i did this fight! (literally the night of 2/28/21)
Fight felt like it lasted damn near an hour tho but i got him! :D

this was the first jrpg that i liked and it introduced me to the genre, pretty much. it's still my favorite to this day. and heck i could never find a turn based combat system this good ever again. funny, thing, my second favorite jrpg is mario RPG, and it was the second game in the genre i played. third was ff7 but i don't really hold that one with nearly as much regard.
