- This is my tribute to Grandia 2, the best RPG I've ever played,
I really love this game, especially the part with Ryudo and Melfice.
Sadly I had to cut some parts cause else the video would be too long,
anyways - have fun watching.

people said Grandia I was the best Grandia...but for me, nothing will ever be able to beat Grandia II. This was by far the best JRPG ever made and I am sad FF got to live on while this series just vanished even though it was way better in terms of story, characters and battle system.

I love how Melfice has the best voice acting by a very, very large margin.

Mareg's voice actor did a fantastic job too. His delivery to Melfice when they first find him was leagues above the others.
as well as Ryudo and others. It's just emotions of Elena sometimes were strangely reflected by voice, but still it's cute. And yeah, tried to play with japanese voices - damn no.
funny you guys say that because back in the day i remember people always saying besides ryudo and melfice everyone else was kinda average
but obviously everythings better than grandia 1's
To this day my favorite rpg since 99 ahhh good times this is the game that really got me into the genre. I played finally fantasy but this game the story the humor the depth of it all really sucked me in. I would so love a remake of this game the battle system was very fun and revolutionary i haven’t seen anything quite like it. Thanks for the upload

It's true, Grandia 1 and 2 were amazing, but then they dropped the ball. It's like they thought "This series is popular now, let's push out some crap to sell based on the name alone."
Not really. You just have to look at Indie games as the new paradigm for gaming since big business has cornered the gaming industry.

But games today are great!
I wish this game was remade! With the same battle system, but its just a fools dream...Grandia is my favorite 3D RPG and i consider its battle system the best turn based battle system ever made.

Man, I always loved the dude's voice who played Ryudo. He was so awesomely over-the-top dramatic. I played through the game multiple times and always got excited to see this parts for some reason. lol

Every time i watch Melfice's death, I am reminded of the fact that John Cygan is no longer with us... rest in peace...

Goosebumps, this game man, what a masterpiece.
I remember when my friend first introduced me to this game,at first I thought "This probably won't be that great,but it'll be something to play" You have no idea how happy I was that I was dead wrong and this fight...hoo boy...this fight...lots of...painful memories of getting wrecked,usually by Demon Horde Slash or Wailing Soul Slash.

Purple Lightning is basically Ryudo's own version of Wailing Soul Slash.

That laugh when he uses Wow always makes me shed a tear such wonderful memories.
"sworn enemies, you shall be defeated, take that! sky dragon slash!" lol to this day that quote remains to be my favorite battle quote in all games, It always stuck in my head, I never forgot it ever since I originally played this game back in 01 when I was like 6.
Most people think his laugh's annoying but I think it's pretty badass. Constantly cold and condescending, expressing his contempt at the futility of their efforts. In a way it kinda sums up exactly what kind of person he is just by hearing it.
Also, 10 years after playing this, I've realised that he kinda sounds like Pierce Brosnan.

Ryudo will always be greatest male protagonist of all RPGs. Strong leadership and strong character development. I wish every male protagonist will be like Ryudo. 💙

I had such a crush on Ryudo, loved this game!
I had forgotten just how good Ryudo's VA was in this game. Melfice was amazing as well. It's been years...can't believe how much has changed since I first played this game; but I'm amazed that my nostalgia seems to be warranted. The game appears to be as good as I remembered it.

His regenorater (that thing on his shoulder that does the weird laugh) sounded a lot cooler on the Dreamcast. But anyways, thanks for the upload, Melfice is my favorite character in this game.
This game was such an epic masterpiece for its time. I remember back when I was 13 years old playing this game how gripped I was at the story behind Ryudo and Melfice. I may have to bust out the PS2 again just to beat this game again.

The message was well delivered but the protagonists was too dumb to find other ways to reach him.
this was the first jrpg that i liked and it introduced me to the genre, pretty much. it's still my favorite to this day. and heck i could never find a turn based combat system this good ever again. funny, thing, my second favorite jrpg is mario RPG, and it was the second game in the genre i played. third was ff7 but i don't really hold that one with nearly as much regard.
Melfice is bad ass...but he geeks out like Beavis and Butthead lol

this game was super hard for me as a kid i never new wat the blue bar was so i always ran out of combos with the red bar but i still beat it. took me yearsss

though ryudo is still one of the most manliest jrpg main protaganist ever, even if this scene comes across a little cheesy, he's well aware that power corrupts and that sadism is flat out wrong and he tries to convey this to his brother, the guy who he grew up with, even the manliest of men would get emotional over it, heck even dante cry's when vergil dies.

Grandia 2 had a huge impact in my life, it got into RPG's and is one of my all time favourites, It's in my top 20, my top 15, my top 10, my top 5 hell, it's even in my top 3 games of all time list's. the Story was decent but sure hey, you dont play a game for story (you read a book for that purpose) The Characters were colourful and lovable, the music was amazing and the Gameplay was so unique and revolutionary that im suprised it never big on the field.
Soooo memorable man!!!! lol, man I still remember this, like a long lost dream I had, and it still holding some place in my heart. Great Great game.

played this game so much i could recite all melfice parts my favorite character.
I had to listen to the scene before the final fight so often because I always lost (because I didn't know how to use SC and MC at that time^^") and now I know that part by heartXD I always speak with the charactersXd I love that scene^o^
Melfice has some awesome attacks... Grandia 2 was the most fun RPG for me so far.... The characters were so totally awesome!

I think Melfice's laugh is quite alright and not annoying at all, actually. It's just one of those charms. A design choice. The music, sound and voice acting are top notch. If there's any series I can say without any hesitation is one of, if not my favorite. It'd be the Grandia series. Noriyuki Iwadare is by far one of the best composers there is and the voice acting, well, it too is some of the best. If anyone wants to get into voice acting, this is a prime example of pure quality.
the game will be 3d and we are making a armour which looks like melfice's armor too and the best of all once we are done we will be more than happy to share the game with you guys for free however it will take us some time to finish the whole thing since we need to think of new settings, characters, musics etc (dont no about voice acting though)

when i played this on ps2 this was the most emotional part of the entire game and just might have been harder than the final boss

Ahhh the memories, i remember the first time i fought Melfice trying to help a friend to beat him and it took me quite a while because my friend avoided fights whenever possible so he was pretty weak for this fight....how i hated that laugh man....

You guys i checked on google news and it seems that game arts need a little bit more money in order to start the development of grandia 4, which can mean that if they had enouh money they might make another sequel well we just have to be patient but the best way is we should write a letter to game art too :)

He's giddy with excitement. He's trying to think of what he can do to make his brother suffer horribly, and yet there are too many ways to do this. Some of which are so unspeakably cruel, that its hilarious...to him...

Well, healing was something I got everybody advanced on, so that was never a problem for me. Melfice was just so damn fast and Millenia during her freak outs matched, probably surpassed that speed.

this fight took me so many tries....ugh...and unfortunately i don't think there will be a new grandia coming any time soon as someone in one of my glasses said the creator died...so even if there was a new one it wouldnt be the same game we know and love
