- Saoirse's first trip through the car wash was one to behold... An adventure all on its own!
Saoirse LOVES the car wash now and asks to go ALL THE TIME! She also asks to watch this video and laughs whenever she sees it. Don't worry... No signs of trauma here!
JUST A NOTE: We filmed almost every event in Saoirse's early life, including her first trip to the car wash. We didn't do it to abuse or traumatize her, or "get views on UA-cam," as many have suggested. Parents have to run errands... and we can't just leave our kids at home when we do. :)

People. Babies get scared of all kind of things. Just because babies cry a little, it does not mean it is a bad thing, and we cannot constantly spoil them just because they don't like something. A lot of babies do not like the sound of thunder? What? Make the sky stops having lighting and thunder?

+Raquel Fbo The baby wasn't alone. They were in the same car. Literally 3 feet away. Look, babies are scared of many things. I have seen babies cried because they were scared of their own shadow. I am not suggesting we go torture babies. My point is that just because a baby cries, it doesn't define a person being a bad parent.
People are prioritizing the wrong things. There are far worse parents than this guy. For one, what about those parents who take their eyes off the road while texting? You have thousands of parents who constantly putting their babies/children in risk by taking their eyes off the road and texting, and we are going to point finger to this guy who did a car wash?
Chemicalkinetics Well what mosr parents would have done is have the baby seat facing the front so she could be reassured when she got scared that her daddy was there, not deliberatly set up to record her fear for a youtube clip.
+Ann Mitchell Maybe it is just me, but this baby crying does not involved real danger. She was a little unhappy and maybe scared, but that is. Remember, babies cry from all kind of things from wet diaper to hunger. Again, I ask you to look at the larger picture. There are plenty parents who text while driving their babies. There are plenty videos where people videotape their baby girls getting the ear pierced and the babies were screaming their heads off because of the pain. As for this guy putting this video on youtube. Look. This guy has only uploaded one single video. He certainly does not look like he is trying to gain some massive attention -- as you have implied. To me, it is just one video he thinks is interesting to share.
Yes, the baby was annoyed and maybe a little scared, but she was not in real harm's way and she was not in real physical pain.
Chemicalkinetics Yes I agree there are many parents that do stupid unnessesary things to their children,and yes,babies cry when they are hungry ect but parents do not let them get deliberatly distressed just to film it.For a child as young as this to be sitting facing away from the adult where she can be reassured visualy,she is to young to have it explained to her before that this is what is going to happen,it gets dark very noisy she cannot hear or see her daddy of course she is afraid,and oh look how cute it is when daddy comes.Totally unnessesary.

When I was a kid I was scared of escalators and the green light in my dad's room. My parents made me go on escalators so I'd lose that fear and I've lost all of my childhood fears. This baby won't remember this at all.

If you were just mature enough to step back and understand the baby isn’t in any harm or risk and is crying because near the end it becomes scared or uncomfortable and NOT because she has a bad or malicious father. Her parents literally video, and now have a video keepsake on UA-cam, of their babies first experiences with most things.. He needed to wash his car so why not record the babies first reaction. Did you not see the way she felt relief and happiness to see his face. By her change in demeanor as soon as she sees her father shows how she is not terrified, traumatized, or scared of him or because of him. So just leave your judgement to yourself and pay more attention to how you are then come acting like a thorn in these comments. I felt like it was the longest carwash EVER 😫, The only reason I stayed on is because I felt like I was babysitting 😂😂😂. I kept saying, "it's ok, we're right here" and laughung and saying awwww at the same time 😂😂 she is SOOO cute!! My grandchildren did the SAME thing!

This child was prepared for life. Car washes are real. Water is real. Dark clouds and shadows are real. She knows and has faced them. She survived them. She has been through the terrors of a car wash and survived. I don't see this as abuse, but preparation for the perils of what it takes to keep a car clean in these dark times. The adorable smile at the end shows she was extremely happy that her dad made it through them as well.
Thank you. People don't understand that it is important for a child to find self comfort in "tough" situations. She is learning that sometimes things are scary and loud but it's only temporary. If anything this is symbolic as hell lol

Agree!! That look was a desperate look she would have given to any human face in an effort to gain reassurance that everything was okay, to be unlatched from the car seat and be held. For those of you that DONT want to mentally harm your child. If you want to expose them to world experiences do so will love, guidance and reassurance. A parent or familiar face, and NOT a camera, next to this baby during the car wash would have made all the difference in the world. This is a real life human being not an experiment or entertainment. Shame on this father. The moment I saw her frightened face I had to fast forward to the end. The only thing this father did right was show his face to her after the car wash.

That baby didn't shed a tear! Yes she cried out because babies can't talk. To me it just sounded like she was just trying to communicate like "uh hey I don't know what this is!!! Is this normal!? I'm gonna do some yelling in case it's not!!!" But she stopped to just stare and try to figure it out. If a baby were really scared it wouldn't have stopped crying (like proper sob crying), screaming, flailing trying to get out of the car seat. This baby didn't do any of that.

What a cool baby! No out of control screaming like so many kids these days. She was looking around, interested. Then, when the wash started, she was confused, a bit anxious, but only let out a few little sobs. A real trooper, that kid! Very cool.

She's adorable. And for those concerned about the baby wouldn't it be worse if dad just left her alone at home? Driving around with mom and dad on errands and such is just part of life. I guarantee at least half of you went through this or the horrors of Santa's lap, or got chased by your own shadow yet you probably don't even remember the experience. Besides her sweet smile at the end when dad comes to check on her is so precious. She knows everything is okay.

What im pretty sure is an unpopular opinion: I see nothing wrong with this. The first time I remember going through a car wash, I screamed and cried so goddamn loud, and my parents sat there completely silent and said nothing as we went through. I was scared of going through a car wash until I was six, but that's because I had to learn to not be afraid of it, which is exactly why my parents didn't coddle me about it. They wanted me to observe that they weren't freaking out about it, and over time I noticed and learned that it was nothing to be afraid of. I think this dad is doing the right thing; even at such a young age, he's teaching his daughter to learn how be brave through scary circumstances, whether he's intending to or not.

I couldn't wait to see this when I ran across the title. My baby years ago screamed bloody murder and his little heart was pounding so hard you could see his shirt thumping. Your baby did great. My granddaughter fussed in the same way, that is until I just talked to her about how the car was dirty and needed to take a bath and get soaped up and scrubbed. So, then, whenever we'd go through a car wash she could actually say out loud the steps. "Rinse, rinse, rinse, blue soap, green soap, yellow soap. Scrub, scrub, scrub. Rinse, rinse, rinse. All done, Granma." Children are very intelligent, when they understand what's happening.

Although during these years it would be the worst possible time to do that but it had to be done sooner or later. Also there were funny cartoon shows in which she laughed in and some where she started to cry. If you are talking about real trauma she would be yelling out of her lungs and it was confirmed by the parent that she has no signs of trauma
