  • We journey across inland southern WA in an effort to cover some ground and start making our way across to the east coast. From Margaret River we travel through some beautiful country including many small outback towns and farmland to arrive at Esperance only to be greeted by wild, wet and windy weather. This is the reality of travel and how to make the best of it, from witnessing the awesome landscapes with the dark moody clouds above to visiting Lucky Bay Brewery and meeting more new friends on the road, we loved every minute at Esperance and will be back again!

If you are still in Esperance, hit the coffee shop DownTown in the centre of town opposite the IGA. Well worth it for superb coffee

The “up” in WA towns ending in “up” like Kojonup , Jerramungup etc means place of water . We completely understand your gripe re empty sites being “booked” , Dept of Biodiversity , Conservation and Attractions ( which seems to change its name often ) is so inefficient we get very frustrated . That jetty in Esperance is a recent rebuild of the very old wooden Tanker Jetty costing $7,000,000. Not very long since reopened . We realise on are now on a time frame but best months for the south coast is Jan to April ,. Safe travels across the Nullarbor .

Sadly you guys have gone through the sound end of WA really quickly. You’ve missed some highlights here in the SW & Great Southern. Hopefully you can get back over to WA soon

Hi Rod. Won’t lie at times it would have been a bit painful with a camper. But we are getting soft now with the caravan, don’t worry about it just go mate. You always remember the harder ones more.

Love your videos guys. Noticed you are running the DCS under bonnet dual battery set up. How do you rate them. Do you run an inverter off this system too.

Hi Todd. Yes we have had dcs under bonnet in the cruiser and in our last vehicle and really rate them mate, we haven’t run an inverter of them. But they would handle it it would just be the cable length that would be the problem. We will be doing a lot more about the dcs batteries in coming eps
