I am going to ask a stupid question, this flash package is made by Easy Bimmer Coding, correct? If Easy Bimmer Coding can do it, why does BMW claims they cannot upgrade the iDrive? I am just concerned it a is a hacked version (or something) of the original code and am worried about glitches, etc. There are several providers for this upgrade at different price points, so I am trying to get a handle on that. Thanks,
I believe if you do this flash and decide to use factory nav, the system will eventually crash. This is because the iD6 system has more memory than the iD4. If you just use CarPlay and avoid using iDrive navigation you’ll be fine.
Hi, could you please write about your experience after a longer period of time? Any reboots, freezing, lags etc? It will helps me with deciding to flash my HU. Thank you!
@@DedaMraszdid You ever flash your Headunit to id5/6? If so how’s your experience? I’m also thinking about flashing my nbt evo HW2.3 to id5/6. And I don’t care for the bmw navigation, only CarPlay and idrive menus features obviously.
Question, when using factory maps on the dash you get that arrow signalling you when to turn when you use the CarPlay maps is this feature active still or only on factory maps as I really do think that is a good feature
I've been confused for months how to figure out if it's possible to upgrade my 2017 320i to this. I don't have navigation built in and I think I have iDrive 4...none of the coding websites really seem to make sense or specify what requirements you need to make upgrades like this...? Does anyone know?
Easy Bimmer Coding says it supports both and there is an option that says “screen mirroring in android”. I don’t have an android to actually test it out on though.
It is really easy just pull out the trim and take of the control panel which is held in by a few torx screws then the idrive unit is right behind that held in by a few more torx screws. Then you can pull it out. Without disconnecting anything you should be able to plug in the antenna. Then just put everything back.
@@BMWE90HQ I called bmw they said my 2015 435 is on 3g and that’s why I can’t get any more updates since all carriers have moved to 4g. They told me find a plug and play system and a shop that doesn’t tap into the dme for power. I’m not sure if there’s lots of places that know how to do it correctly so I’m a bit concerned. I’m also concerned it may mess with my heads up display on my windshield
hi, does this affect the digital service history?
Any long term update? Does this work well?
Id4 has only 2gb of ram but id5/id6 4gb. So after flash it can work unstable
Hi Will,
What did you use to charge the battery?
I need to update my unit and those power supplies/chargers are so expensive.
Update with the car on

@coastss is correct!
Hello sir does it keep the service history after instalation?
Looks great doing this soon
It’s great to have CarPlay I highly recommend this upgrade!
Service history is affected or not ?

Thank you!
It’s been great I pretty much leave it on Apple CarPlay except to check tire pressure and oil level. No issues at all. It’s been over a year now!
@@BMWE90HQ great, Thank you! I will try it on my head unit 😀

Did you ever figure it out?
If your car is 2017 then I think you do have the evo id4 head unit
you just need to have the nbt evo unit
Does it glitch?
Are you sure iDrive 6 has Android auto? I thought it only supports CarPlay
Easy Bimmer Coding says it supports both and there is an option that says “screen mirroring in android”. I don’t have an android to actually test it out on though.
@@BMWE90HQ ahhh yeah screen mirroring. That's still more than I thought it supported for Android though. Good to know thanks!
Does it work for 2013+ f30s?
You need to have iDrive 4 but if you do it should work regardless of the year or model.
does this void the warrantee
It would for anything related to the idrive. But my warranty is expired so it is irrelevant on a car with more than a few years on it.
How did you install the wifi antenna

How much did it cost?
The install was $230 I believe and the hardware was about another $40 but I already had most of that.

Dude, you didn’t explain how you did it or anything. This video is pointless. Thumbs all the way down!
youre stupid, look up how to install the wifi antenna, it takes like ten minutes. I did mine yesterday and will be coding today.
