Thank you for your interest in this video. NOTE: I would like to acknowledge a pronunciation mistake I made as I accidentally said "The Kingdom" instead of "The Kingdome". I apologize as I noticed the pronunciation mistake really late into the editing process. Enjoy the video and tell me what are your thoughts about Ken Griffey Jr.

I think it was the early 95 season... had to have been.. our teacher had let us watch Jurassic Park on one of the last few days of school. there was nothing else to do. I asked her if I could bring this VHS tape I recorded on my VCR at home. It was a Mariners game where Griffey had hit some homeruns. All us boys thought it was the greatest thing to sit there and watch that in class. Even better than Jurassic Park.

That's a great story. I would have loved to have seen Griffey and the Mariners instead of Jurassic Park any day. Thanks again for the comments.

I just wished that Ken Griffey Jr and the Seattle Mariners could've won the American League Championship Series to win their 1st pennant and advance to their 1st World Series appearance in 1995 against the Cleveland Indians to represent the city of Seattle. Ken Griffey still could've broke the Home Run Record and had become a league leader in home runs. At least he won the American League Most Valuable Player. Now we are going to start the year of 2024 and it took the Seattle Mariners years for them to get back to becoming playoff contenders again. However, its going to take the Mariners to break away their long championship drought to win their first World Series even if its their first appearance. I wonder what happened with the Kingdome and Safeco Fieldhouse in the city of Seattle?

I loved when the Mariners were on ESPN baseball night. Such a great American league offense. Griffey was such an athlete though he should have avoided some risks. I'm sure the Mariners would have traded that one out to have Griffey back for those 70 something games. There were some really beautiful Griffey baseball cards I remember seeing in school friends' collections back in the day. I was a kid in 1995. Man baseball was so much better back then.

Griffey Jr was quite the talent. I love Frank Thomas but I have to admit that Griffey Jr was the face of MLB in the '90s. Thanks again.

Growing up in Philly back inter league play was new. Phils played AL East. When he went to the Reds in 2000. I got to see him play live he on the down side.

Hey Jon, thanks for commenting. I remember those early interleague days only playing the other league division with the geographical similarity (my word usage was poor there). But anyways, that had to have been strange to see Jr in person in a Reds uniform. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the rest of your summer.

Such a great young team. Wish they would have won one

You are correct, so much young talent. I might do a video asking who had the best MLB offense in the mid-late 90s (Seattle, Texas, Cleveland?). I might get different answers. I want to say the Angels but I know that is the wrong answer. Which offense would you take from that period? Thanks for the comment; sorry that I didn't reply to your comment on the Jason Williams video because I had to delete that video and re-upload it. Thus, due to the video being deleted, the comments were also deleted. Thanks again and have a great summer.
