I want to thank you for your 3D software videos. I am not a potter, but am following you for these videos and for ideas I can use with polymer clay. Thanks again!

I just discovered this software and am going to try to make vases with it for the 3d printer!

    Amazing. Fantastic! Thank you.
I’m a potter and looking to make a few molds.
Starting with 2 piece press molds John Britt style using metal flashing.
But interested in this one piece 3D printer way. First I have a Mac so will have to figure this translation from pc out then How to go from here to actually print and then make the plaster around it?

Hi Joanna, this is great, glad you enjoyed the video! I don't have an actual plaster mixing tutorial yet, but there are more videos about this cup project here: claybucket.com/3d-printed-and-slipcast-cup/. Hope this helps!

@@BrianHarperstudio wow. I’m totally blown away! Your forms are really beautiful. I may try this but see possible Trouble loading and affording the software and no idea where to 3D print. I understand the way you prepared the output for the mold and saw you use the flashing technique!
Will first see if I can get the software going on my Mac. Again, Ty so much. Well done. So incredible. Awesome. Will let you know if I get anywhere. 😃

@@joannafeldheim5893 There are options you can download on your Mac to allow you to run PC programs, so that's an option. Tinkercad and Cura are free and the 3D printer I used in that demonstration piece was only $399. If you scroll down to the bottom of this page, claybucket.com/course-stuff/syllabi-projects-handouts/, you'll see that the 4 most recent projects I've developed are for using 3D printing technology with more traditional clay processes. My goal for these projects was to have it be accessible as possible, so one of the 3D printers I used was only $199.

@@BrianHarperstudio thank you so much. So excited to have found you. The school looks amazing and forever grateful to you and the generosity of the ceramic community especially the glaze community. Creating a clay mold from cad is Just so fantastic! Thank you again for your generosity and knowledge. 🙏🦋

@@BrianHarperstudio hi Brian, I figured out how to create some molds and sending one out to be printed. I’m not sure how to send you images of what I did. If so lmk where...so much fun. One was tricky as it’s a bottle with a narrow neck so i put the flange on the bottom. if I make this mold i would need to make a bottom round slab and attach. 😊

I tried to transfer the drawing to Tinkerkad and I get a rough surface?

Hmm, I'm not sure about that - I've never seen that happen on my end, but I'm guess something might be off in the settings of your model. You might try again with a simple model where you don't change the settings and see if that helps. Wish I could be more help!
