Pippen was and will always be my favorite NBA player in history...Prototypical 3 way 4 way player....Extremely High basket IQ and floor vision to go along with his freakish athleticism and doberman pincher like defensive prowse, as well as being able to put the ball up from anywhere on the floor, close, mid and longdistance , and he could even postup, play pic n roll, slash and best fastbreak moves I've ever seen outside of Jordan, and not only that, but Pip could play the triangle to a tee.......There wasn't a catagory in basketball that Pippen didn't excel in on both ends of the court every nite and I feel blessed to have been able to witness his whole career as I lived most my life in Chicago. I rarely ever missed a game. After Pip, there hasn't been a player since that impressed me that much. I agree Pippen deserved a defensive player of the year once in his career but saying payton could only defend in perimeter is n't correct...i don't remember many guards even mj who could easily post payton...of course pippen was a forward so he could defend better in post since he was taller,longer and stronger but payton was faster and quicker...the same with hakeem who was n't only great post defender but could also defend perimeter players as well...don't also forget hakeem avg about 2 steals p.g in his career....more than lebron!
