Don't typically watch this channel but the interviewer definitely seems to be trying hard to create an issue over what should be a non-issue. US taxpayers are not paying the $15M, so I don't care. For security and other purposes, these players need their own transportation and facilities. Arranging for chartered flights and negotiating hotel contracts are not that complex.

    • @aussiesurfer805

@@speakinslow2020 It's clear from the above comments that all of you guys are either from the US (and therefore simply not familiar with what 'journalism' is) or you're a teenager with little life experience....
The interviewer simply asking questions of cost, what the purchase entails, why it's necessary, and comparison to other sports is not insinuating anything and is very much a normal and reasonable line of questioning. It is normal practice to ask pointed questions so as to receive specific answers and provide a depth and inteligence to a discussion. This is something sorely missed in US journalism in general, but in particular within politics, celebrity and sports journalism. Without the questions she asked, there is no UA-cam video discussion on this topic for you to all fanboy some more about NBA stars.
I challenge anyone above to tell me one question she asked that, in context, somehow insinuated some sort of bias against the US basketball team or hinted at her trying to 'make an issue' out of their choice of accommodation
FYI: Forbes is not a 'UA-cam channel' it's a business and investment publication that has been providing insight and commentary within this realm for more than 100 years.

This a red herring story. Selling and promotion of the Olympics by the NBA stars brought in close to $77 million LAST YEAR. All the official sponsors love how recognizable they are and theyve been doing it since 92. The NBA might even demand it as the price of lending out their stars as a sop to the owners who dont want theyre best players injured.
Normally I'd be down on the players but this is a executive decision based on income return. Fewer people follow competive rowing or beach volleyball than professional basketball and that pays the bills.

And I know everyone does this nowdays in media however the interview felt extremely long and forced and he was just repeating himself over and over at times. Maybe next time do more improvising on the interviewer side and change or skip questions that have already been answered and know its okay to go off script. Or simply make this a shorter interview.

I'd like to know the cost to produce this stupid segment, which stated the super obvious. Always about the basketball team - we keep trying to "force" these (mostly black) athletes into a category their not in. Lebron is a billionaire - whether he's an Olympian, an NBA player or whatever else, and whether you like it or not, he simply is one of the most resourced humans in the world. No, he's not like everyone else and not like you. He's also almost 7 foot and one of the most popular athletes in the world. He also brings more revenue than most others to any of his associated institutions. In separate "surprising" news, top countries in the world are able to rank their priorities and make special requests, including who they want to be next to. I'm sure South Sudan is not getting the same privileges as the U.S. Olympians and I don't see a Forbes segment on this.
