What this proves is that its not the depredations of aging, per se, which cause anabolic resistance. Rather, it is the decreasing level of activity, which normally accompanies aging, which is leading to this problem. Its just more proof to support the adage that age is not an excuse.

Thank you for a very informative video.
It would be clearer if you could mention the age in numbers, instead of just saying younger and older.
Like a group of 50 young men aged 20 to 35.

They forgot to mention that as you age your hormones, like T, fall, so this can also be a factor for anabolic resistance

11:19 _"At any age - and that's also 100+ - the muscle is still very responsive to physical activity."_
Best statement I've heard on this channel. Usually, we mostly hear from Dr. Attia that we need 2.2 g/kg/day of protein to gain or maintain muscle in old age, as if eating all this protein will promote health and longevity (w/o any evidence). This message is likely creating a large group of sedentary people that believe all they have to do is eat a lot of fatty ground beef to live a long healthy life. We all know the reality of how difficult it is for people to lift weights at the gym on a consistent basis, but how easy it is for people to regularly enjoy a juicy hamburger. This is a recipe for disaster.

So much stuff about weight training and the benefits, and I do weight training 3 times a week, but I would love to know how to gain muscle size when also doing 3 or 4 days of endurance cycling, typically 7-10hrs a week of Z2 with some VO2 intervals. It just seems impossible for me, you can have a good endurance/speed on the bike, but look skinny, or have muscle, but crap on the bike. Age also isnt on my side being 40....
