I was checling if Tij Iginla fights like his father and there was only one fight and it was against Brekley Catton. I was surprised how well Catton did on the fight, in fact I think he won. He's not big but he's a tough western boy
If you haven't already liked and subscribed, everyone should; this guy leaves no room to be disappointed by his content. Another great video, amour d'Ottawa mon ami!
Wow, thanks man !
Such a nice comment, I really appreciate it.
I love the complete and detailed video, merci ! 💯
Fait plaisir ! I'm happy you enjoyed.
Super analyses !!!
Hey man… LOVE your content !!!
Please do next :
Tij Iginla & Trevor Connelly !!!
oh and Terik Parascak
Thanks man ! I really appreciate it.
They should all get a scouting report at some point before the draft.
He's my fave outside of Celebrini. And I think his shot is fine. Accuracy makes up for velocity and still translates to the NHL, IMO. Thanks for the vids. Yours are my faves of the many with this schtick.
i agree. i think his shot is more than fine and should only improve. He gets a good, quick sling with very little wasted motion where it almost doesn't look like he's shooting. It looks like the release is deceptive to goalies, at least at the WHL level.
@@antoninop.1411 agreed! 💯
My picks for the Habs are Celebrini, Demidov, Catton , Lindstrom, Eiserman
@@sonylyons7888 I like. Demidov has risen to no 2 for me too since I posted this. It's getting hard to gauge Russians these days especially those in the MHL.
Great video, I don't think Lindstrom will be available by the time the Habs pick, so I'm hoping for Catton, and if not him, Demidov.
If Lindstrom is gone by the time
Habs pick comes…
you can be sure DEMIDOV
will be gone AS WELL !!!!
guy is literally the 2nd best prospect in this draft
You mean if Demidov isn't available than Catton
Demidov could sign more Years with the KHL. Got to be careful with Russians. As with D men in general.
i love the optimism, but we'll probably end up taking another defensemen. thats where the value usually is in the 5-10 range...
I had the exact comparison, he reminds me Marner.
great analysis
Thanks !
He's a very efficient player. His transition game is also amazing.
This prospect is so intriguing.
He is ! I think I'm higher on him than most but the playmaking factor of his game is something special imo.
This guy is very impressive
Future Senator
Think you're dead right on the passing. Just watched him last night and he was making passes his teammates that they just didn't expect. Two classics bounced off the boards.
He's great ! I love his game !
I'm hoping dearly that the Blue Jackets will pick him, he would complement Fantilli so well. But I have a sneaking suspicion that they have at least Levshunov, Lindstrom and Dickinson ahead of him.
All great choices !
Yes this would be a great pick for the habs.
Catton reminds me a bit to Nick Suzuki but on the wing
That was what I was thinking.
You on nhl on what console?
I don't play a lot but I play on Xbox
With Catton at least we don't have a hard time picturing how he's going to look in a Habs jersey. 😂
I feel like if the Habs pick in the 5th to 8th overall range, a few elite forwards might be available for them. The reason of that is, there are really good dmen projected in the top 5, and most teams picking top 5 this year picked a forward at last year draft, so that might leave the door open for a Lidnstrom, Demidov, Eiserman or Catton to the Habs. The Habs need to go for the best forward available this year, the dmen core is already built for years to come for the Habs. Now its time to add ELITE talent to the top 6 of this team. Years after years the Habs lack scoring, Suzuki and Caufield are prety good but its missing a little something more to get more punch out front.
PS. Catton looks pretty good, but for me i pick Lindstrom, Demidov or Eiserman before Catton. Catton is another small player, but he's skilled ! So I'd still be happy with him.
Demidov is pretty much the same size as Catton. I think if a team is looking for a centre, Catton gets picked up pretty early. He's kind of a can't miss top 2 C with a well rounded game that could turn out to be a solid 1C in the future.
Catton reminds me of Sam Gagner in his draft year
Couldn't tell you. I only watched QMJHL and World Juniors in those days. I have no clue what Gagner looked like in his draft year.
I always followed the draft closely but the first one that I actually made a list and tried to watch different leagues was in 2009 in the Tavares draft.
@@bluechipprospecthe's just a troll, Sam Gagner was playing with Kane and didn't have the skating, elusiveness and 2 way game that Catton has plus Catton is doing it on is own.
He’s the Zach Benson of this years class
He's a much better skater though. So I'm not sure he'll fall like Benson.
again undersized forward lol, that's why Benson fell, same as Michkov. other than the Russian factor, he went outside the top 5 because of him being 5'10
My top 3 realistic player i want in this draft in Montréal is lindsrtom, colleny and catton
You'd take Connelly before Catton ?
@@bluechipprospect no but lindstrom yes
Understandable !
My Opinion there are 6 forwards in the first round that will be Star/superstar players… Macklin Celebrini, Ivan Demidov, Trevor Connelly, Berkly Catton, Cayden Lindstrom…. I am not sold on Cole Eiserman he has an electric shot but his effort away from the puck worries me… I’m really praying the Habs draft Catton or Connelly, Trevor Connelly reminds me of Mathew Barzal and Berkly Catton Reminds me of Jack Hughes a dynamic First line playmaker with an accurate shot… Now I think Jack Hughes is and will be better than Catton but Berkly reminds me of Jack Hughes…. I’m writing this comment before watching the video but I always love your videos and now I will see what you think…
Edit: Just finished the video and it was really well done I agree with most of it, But Marner has technically never hit 100 points lol I mean 99 is close enough and he’s on pace for 100 on the dot this season… Catton reminds me of Jack Hughes more than Marner in my opinion… I’m not gonna say for sure that Catton will be a 100 point player, But he has that potential especially if he goes to a team like Montreal that has a good development team along with a coach like Marty that has shown he’s amazing at getting players on the path to their potentials… Catton in my opinion will be an 80+ point player if he hits his potential and I really hope the Habs draft Catton or Connelly because I also believe Connelly has 80+ point potential and is probably one of the best skaters in the draft… Catton is ranked low because of his size and that’s good because he can fall to the Habs… Great video loved it and I hope to see a video on Connelly soon…
I used Marner because while Marner is a great skater he's not like Hughes who's a special skater. Also because Marner is excellent defensively which I think Catton has the potential to be also.
He got all the skill in the world to go top 5 but I feel like he might fall a bit because of size maybe kinda like with Caufield, Debrincat and Benson
He's 5'11". Not big but not caufield or Benson size lol
Also a significantly better skater at the same age. I think you're right that he might drop a little bit but I can't see a world where he's out of top 10
exactly someone gets it lol, undersized forwards rarely go in the top 5, let alone top 3 😂
I like crystal. Wish the Hawks took him. People say his skating is crap. 😊
Definitely not a fast and explosive skater. Very agile and elusive though.
Definitely gonna need to add power in those legs but if he does he's gonna be a fantastic player.
I hope Montreal drafts him.
There's a chance but that chance gets slimmer by the day. The guy is tearing it up. If he keeps it at his current pace, he's going to finish with 115-120 points and over 50 goals. If that guy slips out the top 5 and fall to 7, there's a hockey god watching over us 😆
He may be available at 5th. Hopefully Habs pick him. This the type of player who makes other player around him much better.
Would you compare Catton to a Will Smith or Benson in the last year draft ?
In terms of potential or play ?
Cause in terms of play he's nothing like Will Smith. You could say closer to Benson but he's a much better skater and a better shooter. Benson is an elite competitor with elite hockey sense and both are amazing distributors. Pretty different imo.
In terms of Potential and at the same time in his draft year, I preferred Will Smith over Benson and preferred Will Smith over Catton right now.
But would I be surprised if Catton became the best player out of those 3 ? Not at all !
@@bluechipprospect Smith is too slow and passive to translate his game. I know it's not a popular opinion, and he may very well prove me wrong. I just see Mike Ribeiro Lite at best.
@@TheGreekPoetthat hilarious because every report I’ve seen he has great skating.
You’re the absolute only one who thinks he has slow skating and you’re definitely not a professional eye.
@@italian1ist report? Who are you to talk if you don't watch. THAT's hilarious 😂. I watch him play. He's FN slow man. Start actually watching before you flap your cannoli lips 👄😂.
Sneaky release, he's got goal scoring potential. He definitely could be a top 5 talent, even a top 3. Low flash with high skill is more NHL transferrable then what a guy like Demidov is doing right now. Illusive, sneaky and low profile, just like Nick Suzuki but with better skating at 18.
Yeah. He's really really good. Every game I watch I come out of it impressed by his overall game and by how much he can accomplish on his own. I still have Demidov higher because the puck skills are in my opinion even higher than Catton but I get where you're coming from.
One thing that I keep in the back of my mind when I watch Demidov is that half the teams in the MHL are in freaking Siberia lol . Obviously a slight exaggeration but the talent is so diluted that I have no problem with Demidov testing his limits since he's stuck in a league that he doesn't belong to. Might as well test how fast your skills can take you.
@@bluechipprospect Demidov is definitely #2 worthy but probably gonna drop because of Russian factor. Catton is definitely second best pure centre of the draft and the fact that he is solid two way contributor is gonna put him probably top 5. Most teams drafting in the top 5 are gonna be looking at him once Celebrini is off the boards. Anaheim is my only exception, but I could see either one of Columbus, Chicago, San Jose, Ottawa or Montreal going for Catton between picks 3 and 6. I have a hard time seeing him drop to 10-13 like some have placed him. That's way too low for a guy that could be the second best centre of is draft year. I like Buium, Parekh, who in my opinion is very underrated defensively, he knows when to and when not to and the other top 10 pick I like is Lindstrom, but don't see him as a centre and his playmaking ability is kinda meh but lots of upside as a goal scorer. Eiserman is definitely a can't miss elite shooter and Silayev has the size and skating ability to be a solid top 4 shutdown D but I think both might drop, one because of his nationality and the other because there's a bunch of more polished offensive studs in Demidov, Catton and Lindstrom.
He looks very good in bleu blanc rouge !!!
If we don't win the lottery 🎉😂 i really hope we pick this guy. Great hockey sense, i like him a little more than Cayden Lindstrom.
@@alexandregonet8528 I like them both but I think Catton has higher ceiling plus is game is more transferable to the NHL. I think he'll be a top line center if all goes well.
This guy is not 5’11. If he was I think he’d be a little higher on ppl’s lists.
5'10.75" measured by NHL central scouting. Rounded to 5'11" for the video.
I like him but I don't know he's not big and Habs nead a big player go HABS
undersized forwards don't usually go in the top 3-5. it's the makeup of the player, isn't as interesting, or appealing as a 6'4 230 plb power forward. or say a Potential top pairing Dman. just to use this as an example.... unless yeah of course your a Conner Bedard.. or any other Generational talent.. thats the only exception here.
it's unfair, but just how it is.. and that's not to say he isn't a top 5 talent, but its Risky!! and chances he meets these expectations, aren't great.
Connor*
I agree, they really don't outside of a few like Cooley and Raymond but I think it's fair to say that Catton is at least as good as both of them.
I think that Celebrini, Dickinson, Silayev and Lindstrom are all gone in the top 5 because they all represent a rare combination of size and skill after that it can go pretty much in any direction. We'll see 🤷
@@bluechipprospect yeah there's a few exceptions. but for the most part, it's rare occassion you see an undersized forward be taken top 3 to 5.. especially not ahead of the bigger Centreman, or D.. like you've mentioned here. it's just a safer pick. it has happened in the past but more times than not undersized players drop off. sometimes substantially. regardless of their ceiling talent level.
