I learned a long time ago, no matter how excited you are to play an upcoming game, just plan on waiting it out at least 6 months post-release. My opinion is who the hell asked for this. Microsoft spent years getting 2020 to where it is now very stable very reliable with a ton of really good third-party content. Why throw that all away and restart with a new simulator why not just update the existing SIM and build on that because as far as I’m concerned, I don’t think there’s enough in this new simulator to warrant a brand new Sim. The career mode could’ve been an optional paid DLC and they could’ve just reworked and optimized the sim for better textures and performance.
I completely disagree. The graphics have improved a fair amount, the sim has higher FPS from 2020, the gamification of career makes it a more fun and once the market place is up all your third party paid ware will work with 24. Plus a lot of the freeware and paid ware not from the marketplace already works. Still a bad launch I've been able to play a fair amount the past couple of days. But it is still buggy as hell. Also there's no point in being upset yet anyway, 2020 is still supported just play that
The visuals for this version are fantastic. I love the new ways to engage a player like the career modes and the photography mode. Sure there was some issues to begin with but imo people are way too expectant now. It’s a massive product launch there was always going to be issues day 1…
Another clown making excuses because he worked on it. Microsoft botched it. You don't sell a product after hyping it up for months and then it doesn't work and you act surprised. People paid money and didn't get what they paid for. Stop excusing this shit. The only ones defending this are the devs or content creators who got paid to promote it.
If they polish off the career mode, make it a little bit easier for newbies to learn by actually going over a few more systems. Iron out the bugs, it will be amazing.
I literally had one instance where I was put in a loading queue and was not able to get into the simulator. It lasted about an hour. Since then, I have been playing all day every day with almost no bugs glitches or any other issues of note. For me, there are some small Bugs that are not existential threats to the game, but minor nuisances that you know will be worked out quickly. For the most part my experience with this game has been nearly flawless with graphics maxed out, I'm getting high frame rates, and for the most part everything works the way it's supposed to. I honestly don't know why so many people are having so much trouble, but I saw this with MSFS 2020 also. A lot of people were having big problems and I just wasn't seeing it. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe my Internet or my system is better, I don't know. But I have very few problems with 2020 or 2024
They will probably solve all the important issues. However I do hope there will be a possibility to download whatever I need to be able to fly without any internet, and also for the sim to perform as it should without bandwidth problems as stutters, uncomplete textures etc.
Thanks for a reasonably unbiased review on this troubled release. I fly GA piston planes on a Windows desktop PC that I built to meet the Recommended specs of MSFS 2024 on a limited geezer's budget. I'm flying at all High settings and really enjoying the sim. Setting up my various hardware with the new wonky, clunky User Interface has been a frustrating challenge to say the least, but now that I can kinda understand how it works things ARE better. Bring back Plug and Play - lol. The first two days Microsoft/Asobo might as well have been selling Bud Light or Jaguars.
Baffles me why they do that... I mean I get building a new platform from scratch because of the limitations of the current sim and they want to revamp the AI/photogrammetry in time and I do like the waaaay better lighting and terrain detail. But why o why mess up the UI?! It wasn't that broken. In fact it was fine! And is it just me or is there a ton missing in the menu? ATC settings? AI ships, ground vehicles and stuff? 2020 had settings for those right? Coming later I guess.
I bought it today and have been flying around a bit. Honestly, performance has been perfect for me. No data issues at all. My thing is the flight models on the airplanes are awful. Even the A3300 has ridiculous pitch twitchiness. I can’t the “improved” physics when the flight models are so bad. Lastly, I guess it looks better, but I haven’t flown much yet, just cruising around my home area some. Career mode is chefs kiss for me. I am enjoying it a lot, but we still need offline, cloud gaming was never meant for flight sims, actually, it was never meant for any game other than small indies. It does not matter how good your internet is, it’s not the same. Very disappointing but hopefully they can bounce back in the distant future.
3:16 What would they be? How should they tie into the game? Just throwing a take like that in there without further explaination or examples seems really strange. If you think about it for more than 5 seconds you realize that skills and traits don't really have a place in a simulator.
I have gotten to play quite a decent amount of the game on Series X but the amount of crashes, stutters, and poor performance I still get definitely detracts from the experience. I have good Internet, but even when the game loads assets, I’m not sure that using the Cloud feels appreciably faster than 2020 when you load free updates. That being said, I love career mode and the tutorials (except for a couple of annoying bugs I’ve seen that block progress) are excellent for those of us who aren’t pilots in real life. If they can fix their major issues, this will be a big improvement to 2020, but it’s really unacceptable for games to launch in this state.

It's not stuttering on a 4060ti/12600k and I've been able to play and the graphics are improved but I definitely have some complaints. I wanted to love it but its not a massive upgrade over 2020 right now
Playing MSFS 2020 my game would stutter badly especially when coming into an airport anywhere from 3 to 15 seconds and would do this often, but with the new simulator its way better, I've played for almost 30 hours now and experienced 2 stutters lasting less than a 1/2 second each. I do have extremely fast internet though.

@ where does it come from? You mean I can’t download maps and weather? Companies have been making games for years (even Microsoft Flight Sim) that has downloadable maps. The fact that you MUST be online for all new AAA titles is criminal
I'm having the exact same issue's and loading in and out of flights and maps, it feels clunky and like its going to crash. i'm using an i7 13700k with an rtx 4070 and 32gb 6800MT's Ram with a 990 pro 1tb ssd
The only way it should get a 8 is if its out of 100. i still cant get on. i have a 7800x3d 32bgs of ram. a 7900xt and 300mbs fibre. it seems to only work for youbuters.
I've had no problems at all since day 2. It works like a charm, and is a big improvement over 2020. The flight model feels better to me than 2020 ever did. There are a few minor bugs still, but nothing major at all. I'm sure they will have them ironed out soon. I also LOVE that it records weather over a 24 hour period, so you can get actual weather if you change the time of flight.
I'm with the above comment. I'm not a YT'er and it's been working for me since day 2 as well. Up until last night, I had to use non-local servers but since then my local UK ones have worked well. There was a little update that fixed the UK issu for me. When was the last time you tried?
I flew over my hometown which is green for most of the year, but it is just red desert and red buildings. 4 years later and 150-200 dollars for a terrible update really.
When I was giving a tour near my hometown wind lifted my plane thousands and thousands of feet straight up in the air. 🤦🏻♂️ it's so broken. The hot air balloon is a mess. Fire shoots from where you stand and the balloon itself just flaps like a flag in the wind. It's unfinished and buggy. Game is really bad for me at the moment.
first: the control settings are stupidly complicated. in MSFS 2020 on Xbox Series X the T.Flight Hotas One was simple plug and play. no need to adjust anything, just connect it and you're good to go. second: they must do better with the cities, from the sky they look impressive, but when you fly closer to the ground it's a nightmare. third and probably most important: get rid of that stupid cloud-streaming bull crap. i prefer to sacrifice 200 gigs of storage rather than flying with pop-up buildings and slow rendering textures. I'll stick to 2020 at least for next few months
20/20 as far superior already. I loaded in only for the airport not to even load in all the plane.....the whole airport was just a blurh . And then it crashed ....i just go back to mfs 20 for 6 months i think
#msfs2024 The TURTLE BEACH VELOCITY ONE FLIGHT STICK has an annoying screen drift while in cockpit view with Xbox. It is In perfect working order with 2020 so it’s not the hardware itself. They need to fix this.
This appears to be more of a game than it was before. I just want an accurate realistic as possible flight simulator. I have zero interest in the game features. Back to XPlane?
Unless you're a diehard flight enthusiast with nothing else to play, wait several months. The amount of bugs in this sim is downright infuriating and would take several paragraphs to list.
Thanks for the review. The flight models are still completely awful. Compare the F/A-18 in MSFS2024 with DCS, and it's not even close in realism. Graphics are nice though.
Basically an MMO without a chat box. Design decisions have been baffling. I quit as soon as they decided it was sub only. Used to be able to play for free and most don't know that was even an option.
Worst for me is the _improved_ thermals for gliding that don't seem to work at all. Or maybe that's the glider model, I don't know, they just don't work. + the fact that I have to us a VPN here in the UK or nothing at all works. What a sh!t show.
A tip for people who are having streaming issues. Try to up your rolling cache, I keep mine at about 64gb right now and haven’t had a ctd since the first day. I will say tho I still get the sim freezing when messing with settings and for reference I am on Xbox series X. Download speeds between 120mb ands 270mb depending on the demand of devices at home.
Right now it's a total joke as you have to look hard to find the visual differences from 2020 to 2024. VR is an absolute joke, but it always has been. Optimization is highly needed.
I think its far too early for any definitive verdict. I get it you want to get your review out there before anyone else. But I do feel that any review at this stage is worthless
Personally I wish we got all aircraft instead of 160 dollars even on game pass. The game as well after 5-10 minutes of flying is highly repetitive and boring.
A few minutes ago I finally enjoyed reading the most beautiful sentence a human being can possibly read: "Your purchase of Microsoft Flight Simulator has been refunded." The words envelop me in warmth and happiness, the words are as sweet as HONEY. Yummy yummy refund.
I’m trying to get a refund, I’m done with msfs, 5 days and tried hundreds of times and can’t get in to play, they make it almost impossible to get a refund
No way does this deserve an 8 out of 10. It's a dumpster fire and should be avoided like the plague, to be given a high score is an insult to those thousand of people like myself who paid for the sim only to find out that we'd been shafted by Microsoft. FS 2024 should be avoided at all costs.
Final verdict a few days after launch? Is this a joke? Gaming review channels need to take a chill and let these games mature before a "final verdict"...
Solution: Don't buy your game on launch day. You know there will be patches in the first week, you know there will be problems for almost every single game these days. Wait a week or even better wait a month. Do something else, there are bigger problems in the world so stop crying.
Gamingbolt, not sure who you are and who sponsors you, but making a ‘final verdict’ within a week of a release seems a bit preposterous… Sure, it sounds like good clickbait but with titles like these you cannot be taken serious to any degree.
Guys, this review is bullshit. The game doesn't even work. It'll be four years before they get around to fixing it and by that point we'll already have MSFS 2028, which will have three times the bugs.
@@ALDRT1 Fuck you clown. Enjoy spending money on broken games. Imagine accepting that. You're probably one of those idiots who still wears a face mask and thinks everything is racist.
The game was giving 10/10 by all gaming media and the players think it’s trash and horrible… that’s all the proof you need that review companies are paid to give good reviews. This game is unplayable and SUCKS!
I have been running Microsoft Flight SIM since it's initial release in the early 1980's... I have yet to be able to actually fly an airplane for more than 1 minute before I get a CTD in MSFS 2024 and I have the "ideal" hardware and internet connection. This version is beyond "incomplete". This is the PC version of Atari's "ET" Thanks for nothing Microsoft !
Honestly tho, MSFS2020 launched in a fairly rough shape too. The performance was beyond rough even on good computers large chunks of the world was missing and the bing map date would sometimes mean you would have random 30 mile high terrain features just jutting up out of the ground and frequent CTD. The reality is people forget and then the new release is always compared against the current hyper polished version of the old game and because people are dumb panicky animals they rush on to the internet to gripe about it. instead of doing the smart thing from the beging and not preordering or waiting to give the dev your money until after a proper review.
From what I've seen of it so far, I'd agree. 8 seems like a pre-emptive "when all the stability issues and most of the bugs are fixed" score, as opposed to scoring the current state of the game. I have no doubt it will be an 8 in the future, but it sure as heck doesn't look like it at the moment.
Final verdict? Shouldn't Microsoft finish their the game first?^^
Yeah… idk if you can have a final verdict after just 5 days from launch! Hahaha they still haven’t finished 2020 in the first place.

I feel like it's not worth me trying to play this game now that I don't have my Xbox connected to the router anymore.
can you please make a video convincing parents to buy the game for their kids.
I flew over my hometown which is green for most of the year, but it is just red desert and red buildings. 4 years later and 150-200 dollars for a terrible update really.
I think you tried to push your PC too much. I fly with a 7800x3d 4090 and I don't even play with everything on ultra.
MSFS2024 should have the tagline, "Just wait a year and it'll be great." 😂
And im doing just fine with Microsoft Flight Simulator X. btw, I got it for $1 (Though I did get it at a flea market)
And then it crashed ....i just go back to mfs 20 for 6 months i think
i only have 50mbps why is it not working
#msfs2024 The TURTLE BEACH VELOCITY ONE FLIGHT STICK has an annoying screen drift while in cockpit view with Xbox. It is In perfect working order with 2020 so it’s not the hardware itself. They need to fix this.
This appears to be more of a game than it was before. I just want an accurate realistic as possible flight simulator. I have zero interest in the game features. Back to XPlane?
It's so bad on xbox. It constantly locks up when I change key bindings, the textures are horrible, and it feels janky. So disappointed.
Unless you're a diehard flight enthusiast with nothing else to play, wait several months. The amount of bugs in this sim is downright infuriating and would take several paragraphs to list.
Love it so far about to buy a yoke while they are on sale
So forget running this decently on anything below rtx 3090 and i7 14700...
Aside from it running very decently for me and I'm on less than that.
I still can’t get my game pass 98% on console (Xbox series X)
Way to buggy right now 2020 is better experience. If they patch it up it will be good but currently on Series X it stutters like crazy
Worst for me is the _improved_ thermals for gliding that don't seem to work at all. Or maybe that's the glider model, I don't know, they just don't work. + the fact that I have to us a VPN here in the UK or nothing at all works.
What a sh!t show.
I had to use a VPN up until last night, then a 700mb-ish update dropped and now the UK servers are working great for me.
@@Elwaves2925 Yeah I've manages to use it for the first time without a VPN today too.
@@billB101 That's good to hear.
I'm still waiting for 2020 to download...
Release was terrible but it’s getting better.
It’s the “flight deck” not the cockpit that’s sexist
an 8 how much money did 't they pay you
Tell me something I don't know
Try landing on the Hudson!!
Maybe MSFS 2025 would have been a better title 😅
I don't think they will do that again after what happened in 2001...
Right now it's a total joke as you have to look hard to find the visual differences from 2020 to 2024. VR is an absolute joke, but it always has been. Optimization is highly needed.
Mine is still loading on xbox
Physics on many planes is not realistic at all
Like the cap 10, pitts
I think its far too early for any definitive verdict. I get it you want to get your review out there before anyone else.
But I do feel that any review at this stage is worthless
Personally I wish we got all aircraft instead of 160 dollars even on game pass. The game as well after 5-10 minutes of flying is highly repetitive and boring.
I’m giving it a 1 as on a series x I can’t play for more than 15 minutes without it crashing
Definitely was a cash grab for them it should’ve been called MFS beta
No way does this deserve an 8 out of 10. It's a dumpster fire and should be avoided like the plague, to be given a high score is an insult to those thousand of people like myself who paid for the sim only to find out that we'd been shafted by Microsoft. FS 2024 should be avoided at all costs.
It really looks like a game, not a flight simulator, on this "Review."
Final verdict a few days after launch? Is this a joke? Gaming review channels need to take a chill and let these games mature before a "final verdict"...
was waiting for this
Solution: Don't buy your game on launch day. You know there will be patches in the first week, you know there will be problems for almost every single game these days. Wait a week or even better wait a month. Do something else, there are bigger problems in the world so stop crying.
Downloaded this on game pass then immediately crashed a plane into my house. Didn't even need a tutorial. Can uninstall now lol
Gamingbolt, not sure who you are and who sponsors you, but making a ‘final verdict’ within a week of a release seems a bit preposterous… Sure, it sounds like good clickbait but with titles like these you cannot be taken serious to any degree.
Thanks!
Guys, this review is bullshit. The game doesn't even work. It'll be four years before they get around to fixing it and by that point we'll already have MSFS 2028, which will have three times the bugs.
I played today and yesterday on xbox and it worked
bla bla bla
@@ALDRT1 Fuck you clown. Enjoy spending money on broken games. Imagine accepting that. You're probably one of those idiots who still wears a face mask and thinks everything is racist.
Try VR… what a MESS.
The maps are at least 7-8 years old with PS2-level renderings. Already uninstalled.
You can't polish a turd and this is a turd. Back to 2020 for me.
Microsoft Flight Sim 2077 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just like Cyberpunk
They made the game overly complicated and it is dogshit on Xbox X. Went back to 2020 and am much happier
Wish this come to ps5
The game was giving 10/10 by all gaming media and the players think it’s trash and horrible… that’s all the proof you need that review companies are paid to give good reviews. This game is unplayable and SUCKS!
Don’t sink don’t sink don’t sink 😡
Bollox 2024!!!
This is the PC version of Atari's "ET"
Thanks for nothing Microsoft !
Honestly tho, MSFS2020 launched in a fairly rough shape too. The performance was beyond rough even on good computers large chunks of the world was missing and the bing map date would sometimes mean you would have random 30 mile high terrain features just jutting up out of the ground and frequent CTD. The reality is people forget and then the new release is always compared against the current hyper polished version of the old game and because people are dumb panicky animals they rush on to the internet to gripe about it. instead of doing the smart thing from the beging and not preordering or waiting to give the dev your money until after a proper review.
i think its a 6 max
lol you are crazy
@@trffinal1541 thanks
From what I've seen of it so far, I'd agree. 8 seems like a pre-emptive "when all the stability issues and most of the bugs are fixed" score, as opposed to scoring the current state of the game. I have no doubt it will be an 8 in the future, but it sure as heck doesn't look like it at the moment.
I don't trust your review
Abandonad los servidores ya, now
