I still feel like the light effect being around is what makes this song song so good. So atmospheric for a land washed away in light, in a hot desert, desolate but grand. It gave it a mysterious vibe but also a hopeless one too, while still being beautiful and terrifying.
Dialogue in this part of the MSQ reveals Amh Araeng is actually cold -- cold enough to make you shiver. Which, for me is a fantastic detail: That blazing light in the sky might be bright, but it is NOT warm and welcoming and cozy. It is there to destroy you.

I reached Shadowbringers recently and the moment i stepped into Amh Araeng, i stopped in my tracks and just listened to this track for a good 5 minutes because of how calming it was.

Really was beginning to make a name for myself and started several trends (Big time flower power alchemist and dual dagger venom breaker assassin ohohoho the trolling!) In today's games it really feels hard to distinguish yourself from the crowd. Min/max gears with ideal skill rotations and things like that don't excite me. Gotta say I love FFXIV I was there from alpha 1.0 but I took a 5 year hiatus right when Heavensward came out because I was so displeased with the new direction. That said, I really appreciate it for what it is. They gave WoW the Final Fantasy treatment with characters, a storyline, and music that I truly love engaging with. Filled it with esoteric knowledge and shout outs to the Ascension of our own world. No, they don't make em like they used to...but maybe one day we can figure out how to capture those awesome games from our childhood in a modern way.

I love the depressing, sombre, yet ever so slightly hopeful atmosphere of ahm araeng in the 5.0 story, it’s part of the game that stuck with me the most over the years and the music is such a big reason as to why the atmosphere worked so perfectly, the slight feeling of positivity in the face of hopelessness and loss was communicated perfectly.

If you haven't turned off mount music because of Yangxia in Stormblood, Amh Araeng will phyiscally cast out a sandy hand from your monitor and choke you until you do.
This theme fits so well to the desertic lands bathed in the everlasting light. Everything look so desperate and washed by light. As if we're in a different star (literally) and trying to find our way in.
I cant help but get this melancholic yet hopeful feel from it. The beat of it also sounds really reflective like it gets us, the wol, to reflect in the events that caused shadow bringers and the situation of amh araeng

You kinda knew this expansion was special early on when you first heard this track. And it never let up, even through 5.3. I do not envy the team working on 6.0...
I was absolutely in love with the music when I entered the area... it has the feeling of barren land, in another world, and the voice feels like laments because of all of the horrors of the flood of light
The music does an amazing job at adding to that otherworldly and desolate feeling. It helps remind you that you’re on another world that has almost been completely annihilated.
The voice and tempo are what sold Amh Araeng's day theme as the best overworld theme in the game. The voice in particular is just so relaxing to just listen to. Everything about this is just... beautiful.
Yeah, it's got that sort of sad and ominous feeling to it that really matched the whole story in Shadowbringers. The song also worked really well at the beginning when you meet Alisaie and find out about the people's suffering. I remember right after the cutscene where Tesleen turns into a sin eater and this song played I was just thinking, "wow this is really heavy"
I went here first and gotta say I loved the zone, I feel like what you learn here is a good setup for Kholusia's bit. Both equally as unnerving lol. Can't wait to see the rest of the expansion areas!

I just finished Shadowbringers myself, and I must say, I absolutely love this track. It’s a nice drop of relaxation in what feels like such a charged story, with nonstop action.
I love this theme. I think this gives a bit of a nod to FFXIII-2's Village and Void which is also the overworld theme in Lightning Returns at the Atomos Sands in Dead Dunes. You can never go wrong with an awesome track like this playing in a desolate sea of sand. Perfect combination imo
