I had one M2 car that I got for Christmas a few years ago and I always had it displayed on the base piece on my shelf. Recently I bought my first M2 Auto Hauler and two days later I bought a second one. I'm starting to fall in love with M2 and I've been displaying them in the case that they come with and storing the packaging in my closet.
I’m not a fan of opening doors much either but most vehicles that I saw of M2 that are in display case seem to only have open door types. Most of the time you can fix doors as well to line up properly by a bit of gentle bending or filing straight and re paint if you have the same color. My 58 Chevrolet Apache Step side came with just the base to sit on with no open doors or hood. I try to find nice vehicles with no crazy out of wack door of hood gaps if I go for those type vehicles
It depends on what is available at my store I go to to get M2 trucks. But if I had a choice between the 2 of the same vehicles I’d pick the base with clear cover so I can display on shelf
Indeed! That Dodge COE is a real stunner. Congrats on some incredible additions to your collection. While I haven't ventured into M2, I do collect 1:43 scale vintage racers (from Spark, M4, Bizarre, and other brands). I prefer them in the plastic acrylic/box format. I display them loose, but it's great to be able to store them inside their original box if ever the need should arise.
I prefer the clam shell specially if is a chase or super chase ,but I do like m2 either way , I have a few chases n as I right one I have couple I will like to trade 4 hot wheels supers , I have a pink 1950 studebaker super chase 4 trade u might like , I like ur videos n ur camera is great!!!
I just started collecting so I have some M2 1/64 muscle cars, 70 Super Bee, 69 Charger Daytona, 67 Nova, 70 Chevelle SS, 68 Mercury Cougar R-Code. I also have a Hauler 68 C-60 truck with 68 Camaro Z-28. I got a 54 Chevrolet Bell Air, 57 Dodge Royal Lancer thats turned into a race car. For trucks I like the older ones. I got two 56
I stack mine but I leave them in the cardboard. So I like them in the box and not on the clam shell. Although to have some clam shell ones but just because they were awese castings I couldn't find otherwise. Found some that were Christmas decorations like Johnny's. Think they were only offered on the clam shell.
I like the video Jo...I don't think I have any M2 cars or trucks, but I most certainly will be tracking some down,...I have seen them before but you did such a great job of showing them off that it peaked my interest a little more.
I def like the M2 a lot more than we I started collecting! I like the Studebaker M2s best! The ones you showed Jo are pretty cool, the extra tire catches the eye! Also I dunno about the package, you can hang the carded one, but the box does take less space. Gonna think this one through.
Over in my area everyone just went with Hot Wheels. You could find anything just sitting around for weeks. Not so now everything is gone people found out that they make other cars. That's why I have most all of the Johnny lightning cars from 95 up never could find T-Hunts so picked up Johnnys. White lightnings everywhere it worked out nice cars.
Lol! Dang phone app youtube is to small to text on. Anyways to finish my list, I have two 56 Ford F-100 trucks one is a beautiful stock produce truck and the other a street rod and two 58 Chevrolet Apache trucks, one is a awesome yellow step side the other is a red brush truck. Last but not least I got a 62 VW Minibus in Coke Cola livery.
Well as an M2 fan and collector although I collect everything Auto World Johnny lightning green light and Hot Wheels I can tell you that I like the Box better but I buy both now the boxes can be different from what are called Auto drivers the clamshell type sometimes they're the same but sometimes they're different here's why the box type are considered premium cars and sometimes you can see what looks like the same model but in the auto driver type they have a plastic base or plastic tires where the premium box type always have metal base and rubber tires that's the difference although I will tell people that the auto driver type when you see one that is a Chase car or raw car which are I guess you would consider them the Super Treasure Hunts of Hot Wheels for whatever reason often times the value on those skyrockets over the Box premium type don't know why it just does haha I also would like to add there's a lot of Hot Wheel collectors where they basically only collect Hot Wheels that seemed to think and to Johnny Lightning Auto World are trying to compete with Hot Wheels and they're not it's a completely different category those companies know Hot Wheels and Matchbox let's just be honest even though I buy them they don't have the details and unless you get a premium version saying car culture or something they not only don't have the details but they come with plastic base rubber tires where M2 Johnny Lightning Greenlight all of that they not only have Superior details outside but the castings are better 90% of the time and they even have detailed interior a lot of times it's for a completely different collector so for me I collect all of them and yes I will but I try to keep it to car culture sets Boulevard series Ultra Hots things of that nature not that I don't buy a main line if I see one in like it I do but it's really not worth comparing I don't know why Hot Wheel only collectors try to compare there's no comparison completely different realm of cars nice video I hope you make more and BTW I love those Coe trucks they're my favorite
So I'm probably the weirdest collector out there, but I like to make dioramas with my cars. To be specific, the country roads by Green light go on a model highway that has a farm a little county police station and a few other rural buildings.
Nothing wrong with weird Kevin A Creedon! Have you seen wtffor's Junkyard dio? It's killer. And those County Road GL's are premium. Thanks for the comment
Look Up Dennis wood on the M2 collectors page on f/b he builds beautiful display cases , either for loose cars or in box , he can build them to order and they are GORGEOUS tell him Rick in San Diego sent you
to think that i still hear from collectors complaining about backorders by mattel i am guesssing people like you are getting impatient, angry, and disappointed at mattel i know i would be if i had rlc
BZBEAST12 yeah HWC/RLC would be comical if it wasn't so frustrating. It's quite a mess but I hope they will get their act together soon, I do like some of the cars they release. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I'm going through this right now and I am hooked !!!
I like the fact that the boxed version gives you the lean protective box but I hang things too so I don't know I like both !
I like the clam shell packs so I can hang mine own the wall to display them thanks for the video brother
I think they have the best of both worlds . I like them both
i like the clamshell

Very nice👍
I have a cat and I understand the hair lol. I love your videos. I know these were made years ago. But I enjoy watching them.
Loving the M2 offerings. I think some of these other brands are going to give Mattel a run for their money.
The other brands certainly have an opportunity, for sure Matthew Manahan!

Matthew Manahan cool would love to see some of those 1:43s and how you display them!
I'm seriously thinking about making a UA-cam channel... perhaps I'll show them off in the near future. ;)

Your welcome buddy

Just realized the clamshells don't come with the acrylic top -- just the base. Bummer! Now I'm really sold on the boxes.
If I had a display case similar to the Plano you have in the background I prefer completely loose.
I like the video Jo...I don't think I have any M2 cars or trucks, but I most certainly will be tracking some down,...I have seen them before but you did such a great job of showing them off that it peaked my interest a little more.
Thanks Dave Rebecca! I'm looking at them a lot more closely now too. Much appreciated!

Ha let me know what you conclude cobrastvgaming! I think I'm going to display them in their acrylic cases, separate from the primary display case.
In the package for now....and I have about 100 plus.

Yes, I think collectors are catching on -- I bet you have some great Johnnys swapp428!
if there crack lining around the hood and nothing infront of the crack lining the hood opens
