Nice ... I like the idea of a day boat with capability to sleep over for a weekend if required. This would have to be a huge market. DISLIKES 1) One MAJOR thing ... even with a small swell and light winds the people sitting in the bow ride area would get drenched and so would the "fancy" seats and deck ... I take it there is sufficient drainage. I'm pretty sure the skipper and instruments would cop some spray as well with that low windshield. I have both protected bay and open sea in my back yard and even in the protected bay area wind swells and the wind itself would be spraying over the bow straight into that seating area. You may as well not have that area ... it will never be used underway. 2) Ditto for if it rains ... there is nowhere undercover to sit unless you go below deck which kind of defeats the purpose of being outdoors. 3) I also wonder how long the seats in the bow area would last being constantly exposed to sun and salt and the maintenance of wash downs after each day out. 4) Not sure how the submersible platform aft would work with outboard motors on. A jet engine solution might have been better or props and engine below deck. Outboards spoil it. 5) Not sure how the shower in the head would work ... maybe a pump and dump which is a bit neanderthal on a boat like this if you want to overnight for a weekend with four adults on board ... not sure if there is enough water fresh water on board for this?? My family had a Sea Ray 290 Bow rider. I had that boat out on many small craft advisory days in FL. Big bowriders like that have no problem with spray. Regarding outdoor elements like rain, any bow rider is never going to be a good option. Even if you had a yacht it necessitates rain canvases.
