Hachi would meet his owner everyday at the same station. The Japanese words on the shoes were 八 = Hachi and 義 = Loyalty
The characters on Hachimura's PEs are in reference to Hachi the Loyal Dog(whose statue is in Shibuya, Tokyo), as well as his name Hachimura=八村. As you can see "八'' comes from his name and "忠義'' roughly translated as loyal. So they are playing with words. Pretty cool PEs.
The AJ34s Zion wore remind me of the Iron Purple 2s (solecollector.com/news/2014/05/an-official-look-at-the-iron-purple-air-jordan-2-retro) that came out years ago.
