It's been the case for years now. Deontay Wilder was massively protected, fought nobody until he met Fury and was beaten up three times when he did. I don't even count him. I give Anderson credit for taking on the fight, but he was undercooked. To anyone outside the casual fan, Bakole was the overwhelming favourite for that fight. I don't understand how it was a 'shock' to see what happened.
I never saw Miller as the next great American, from the very first time i same him i had that weird feeling like they're pushing this guy way too much and his ego will balloon.
A massive part of the problem is the commercialization of Gyms in America. In the majority of gyms I have been to, they charge $100-$200 per month with hardly any real credentials and then charge $60-$100 for an hour of 1 on 1 coaching on top of that. Anyone who can afford that is probably not the type of person who will be mentally driven enough to win at the highest level. Many of the gyms that are far cheaper are harder to find and typically set you up in terrible mismatches to build other gyms' reputations. American gyms also no longer prioritize teaching fighters how to be teachers and pass on what they learn, and genuine skill development has been largely passed over in favor of strength and conditioning. The business has outgrown the sport to its own detriment here in the USA. It's awful.
Bc of how commercialized sports are in the US, the US has never and will never see athletes as American athletes like Brits do or other countries. No American would ever say Lebron is a really good American basketball player lol. For individual sports it also applies. Tiger isn’t an amazing American golfer. He’s just a golfer to US fans. Wilder isn’t an American boxer to us fans. He’s a boxer. That would be strange for the American audience bc our sports are commercialized and global athletes are fully engrained. So it extends to all countries. Luka is a great player. I doubt honestly most Americans could even name his birth country. So this entire concept and title makes little sense. Especially bc there’s no such thing as an American style of boxing. The “Russian” or “Soviet” style is one of oldest in combat sports if Russian boxers using this style like a Bivol were getting slept that might be interesting. But American born athletes BECAUSE of the heavy global commercialization of sports so early are split amongst many sports. The best “American” boxer might be a tight end somewhere in the NFL or NBA. Thus even once an American would make sense of what you’re getting at, I bet you their answer is “idc”. Bc again we don’t view athletes like that.
Not just heavyweight, also in cruiserweight, light heavyweight and super middleweight. Other countries are catching up and dare I say surpassing.. it’s also happening in basketball tbh

Modern day heavyweights just aren’t as good. Money and fame have diluted the sport. Fighters aren’t as hungry when they are getting paid 30 million a fight. With the American ideology based so heavily on getting rich being the meaning of success, when you compare this to foreign countries who are carry pride of their nation, their family, their name, it’s no wonder why American heavy weights just aren’t as good.
You forgot Big Baby Jarrell Miller and the Mexican American Andy Ruiz they recently put on an exiting fight, and still have some left in the tank for more fights.🥊
without even watching the video the problem with heavyweight boxing is the best fights arent taking place and the powers that be are too worried about undefeated fights. Ali was defeated 5 times and is still the greatest of all time. Just fight, you're not going to lose money promoting a fighter that has been defeated before. Ali also lost to somewhat of a bum with leon spinks in comparison to AJ with Ruiz. Just fight. Turki has the right idea, just keep throwing money at the fighters and then there's no excuse besides ducking. Thank God he got Fury in the ring with Usyk. Even in the 90’s the best boxer was a Brit it’s been gone for a while dude. And plus a lot of big Americans look and take boxing as something they do when they couldn’t make it to the nba or NFL so they go and try boxing. Wilder tried out for basketball but didn’t make it that’s why he started his career late. Dominic brazeal is the same case couldn’t make it to the nfl so he went into boxing. Saying wilder fought all comers us some bull when he bought maybe one guy in the top ten in all his time as WBC champion. Ducked Dillian & AJ for years, and only fought Fury when he was coming off a cocaine binge, mental health issues and bloating up in weight.
One of the reasons why americans dominated before 1990s is that they didn't rally let outsiders in competition. Yes it was called "world champion" but how many countries really competed? We're just not going to mention Jack Dempsey, Jim Corbett or John L Sullivan then? Anyway CTE and decaying amateur scene are the problem and they're related. Why would a 6'5" athletic guy box when he can go to college for free playing basketball and maybe make a career out of it? Some guys improve and get better and some guys don't will just have to see with Anderson how he bounces back from the loss

1. Americans as a culture have become soft. 2. People are willing to go through really tough things if it's worth it. Boxing has become a smaller sport in America. Hence, it's not glamorous for most anymore. A combination of both and you see why it is what it is now. Btw, US will have lesser small top guys over the years too. Right now, those guys get pushed into fabricated belts without actually fighting the top guys or getting unfair benefits if they are matched the best. In years to come, more on more guys outside America will get pushed too and hence only the actual best Americans will fight for titles.

There isn't any money in boxing like there is in other sports, jobs, or social media like today.
America has had this "problem" for close to a decade now. Thanks for finally figuring it out.
I could care less where fighters are from. This isn’t a team sport.

Trouble is , Yanks can't handle the fact that they're not the best at it anymore.
@@dontbewoke
Yeah exactly if you're on top and elite 1%. That's the way it's always been since Jack Dempsey to Ali to Tyson and Holyfield. Starting off you're going to be broke even coming up like Andy Ruiz prior to the AJ fight, versus you getting a job or playing another sport or doing social media. It's not that hard to understand. Boxing has always been a poor mans sport. And there are more options to do other things especially in America compared to Jack Dempsey's era or the Great depression where everyone boxed.
@@B.Wayne88 Not the 1%. Many boxers making a good living that arent necessarily fighting for world titles. In any case , the richest country in the world ought to be able to produce at least 2 or 3 world class HWs irrespective of other career choices. They produce the worlds best sprinters but there aint much money in that....
@@dontbewoke
Not really they go broke quick, even Ali, Holyfield and Tyson have to keep fighting over and over because they can't manage money. It has nothing to do with being the richest country. It's a poor man's sport always has been.
Most of the best American fighters come from humble beginnings. America has produced two or three HWs in Wilder, Ruiz and Jarrell Miller. This era of fighters American or not are better than the fighters in the Klitschko era. Like I said there's more money and options in other avenues than there's ever been before in American history.
Why get hit in the head at the lower levels for no money. When I can make twice as much and then some as a UA-camr or playing Basketball. The US is generally lazy and they want quick easy money. Boxing is not easy and there's hardly any money unless your close or on top which is a challenge in itself.
We've already seen the end of this lol
I wonder why most American boxers are either black or of Latin American descent (usually Mexican/American).
One would argue that the white boys are usually more well off and tend to get desk jobs instead, but that’s not true because a lot of top UFC fighters are American white guys. But for some reason there aren’t really any top US white boxers. Caleb Plant is the only white US boxer that I can even think of.
heavyweight boxing is evolving to giants with footwork ability. Jalolov is an example of what heavyweight boxing will look like. Anderson not on that level.
Why won't Jalalov fight anyone decent at professional then?
Might be cause most americans are either skinny or obese these days?....
Lennox Lewis, the greatest heavyweight of all time. And he’s not American. And Jared Anderson is all hype. There are no American heavyweights that have a chance at the top. Not anytime soon.
Top 5 Ali Foreman Holyfield Lennox Holmes
You don’t know that 😂😂
@@saqib7965
Lewis is the only fighter in heavyweight that’s beat all Jose opponents. Enough said
Yes. For me
1) Muhammad Ali
2) Joe Louis
3) Lennox Lewis
4) Larry Holmes
5) Evander Holyfield
@@lilsaff21
Lewis was trained by Pepe and Emmanuel Steward who are American. And the Klitschko's were trained by Emmanuel Steward. So your welcome
There are no hopes on a great black hopes that's the only white people that have hopes blacks are fine just having people in the lighter divisions. We know that most of our talent goes to the NFL and NBA if it's bigger people
Any Ruiz is American yk?
You got Jake Paul lol
the shift began 25 yrs ago. potential heavyweights played foot ball and basket ball.. the american heavyweight died in 2000. Tyson wasn't that guy any more holyfield was twilighting, Bowe fell off the map the. wilder was a circus act and never the best heavyweight . The A.H.W has not been relevant since 2000
