Interesting nugget re: the resolution and measuring the temp within those pixels. I thought it was pertaining simply to viewing quality. I used my buddies FLIR one Pro last summer and have videos and pics on my phone, and recently bought the TopDon TC004 Lite (I'm beginning to not be a fan of anything app related as it becomes hit and miss with support down the road... That and Apple always seems to do whatever it wants and usually has disconnects with other apps after their "updates"). I'll be curious to see how the handheld compares. I didn't need the PC accessibility and figure the same 160x120 on the lite model will be sufficient for my home use....

I bought the FLIR One about a year ago, just before this came out, for £191. It's definitely usable, but I can confirm that yours looks significantly better. The higher frame rate and resolution makes quite a difference. I'm amazed FLIR haven't dropped their price significantly. Instead it seems to have gone up slightly!

Hi - Would be very interested to know if you tried to test accuracy, eg against a spot gun type, boiling kettle etc. There may be a difference between stated resolution (0.1C) and accuracy - Flir seems to only claim 3% to 5%? I bought a similar Xintai HT201 largely on good resolution/price combo but have found it is or has become way off actual temperatures - all shifted 4-5degC, so pretty pictures and still good to spot cold/hot spots etc but useless for actual temperature readings. (PS loving the vids as a recent subscriber!)

    Can it find water leak?

  • @dismuter_yt

Which part of this video shows the FLIR One in operation?

  • @Axidentally0nPurpose

The catch with TOPDON is that you have to give permission to take your data whenever they want and store it in mainland china. It asks for permission to run on startup, view network connections, location, and contacts. These things don't seem to have anything to do with a thermal camera.

  • @geoffreycoan

A thermal camera is definitely something I would like to have, and on specs and other reviews I’ve seen, the Topdon seems to do a great job at a much cheaper price than FLIR.

  • @Fr4nc1sc0G

Your comparison is incorrect. Flir One Pro is able to measure temperatures all the way up to 400C

  • @norfolkmustard

No catch, I think Flir are just playing on brand recognition. A bit arrogant too as they have their logo on every screenshot/video you take.
