Happy Birthday Dad. You deserve every minute of vacation you can get. Can’t wait to see the automatic feeders in action. Your ability to look to the future is what keeps the lights on.🇺🇸🚒🐄
Hopefully your parents enjoy their time here in Alaska. It’s been raining last 10 days. Snow now on the mountain tops and leaves are changing. The long dark is coming far too fast. Thanks for sharing the lifestyle. Remember growing up milking only 10-12 but enough work with the rest of the farm chores. A fantastic way to raise a family.
Happy birthday to your dad. The automatic feeding set-up is interesting to watch. Can't wait to see it in operation. Hope your Mom and Dad have a great trip. Stay safe.
Happy birthday to your dad! I also turned 60 this year but didn't do anything as epic as going to Alaska. That would be at the top of my bucket list. I hope they have a wonderful time!
Was sitting around looking for something to watch on my afternoon off and was like.... usually 10 Gen posts Mondays and here we are😂. Thanks Eric love your videos !!!
Happy 60th to your dad. Sounds like a well deserved holiday. Speaking of which Eric, I haven't seen you taking a break any time in the last 3-4 years I have been following your channel. Any plans?
We love your videos! Especially like how you can turn your hands to anything. Very impressive! The robots look amazing! Love from Leeds, England 🏴
Eric, you say you’re adding 15 heifers into the dry cow shed ontop of the 35 in there to make 50 but there’s only 51 stalls, in the UK we allow for a 10% buffer between total stalls and total cows so that they have a nice amount of room and a choice of places to lie down as cows are very picky; just thought you might want to bear this in mind as it’s unusual to have a cow for every stall/cubicle.
I was wondering how that was going to work myself. But I’ve watched this channel enough to know that they have a plan, and a backup plan, up their sleeves to deal with it. They should’ve put electric heat in all of the runways 😉
Like everything else, when it snows, you scrape and push it out of the way. Maybe you have to do it a little more, but you take care of the priorities, and everything else is extra. I've pushed/ plowed plenty to be able to get a milk truck in when our State DOT couldn't get to the back roads. They will be fine.
Extra cool stuff there Eric. Best wishes with the new feeding system. Progress! Now you’ll have a bit more time for scraping the barns. Next step may be an automated barn scraper. Love the video. Thanks for sharing your work life.
We put a roof on our bunker years ago. It’s a wonderful place to park our semis, 4-wheel drive tractor and combines, plus other miscellaneous equipment. If Eric and Dad put a roof on one of those bunkers and turns it into a shop - wowza that would be a big shop with plenty of room to maneuver around in!
@@ImOnAJourney Eric wants to to have a canvas hoop roof put over all 3 bunks sometime in the future. He Doesn't plan to use any of it for shop space. He does want to use one of the bunks for manure storage. He has several ideas for the other 2, (Rental space, steer pens, etc...) but it's not decided yet.
I always enjoy how patient and kind you are with the cows. Your dad and I are the same age. He's going to Alaska with mom. I bought a motorcycle (my first in 45 years). lol
Well Happy Birthday Eric's dad, hope you have a good one and good vacation. The project for the robot feeding is really coming together. Good luck on the rest of it. Thanks for sharing, I hope you have a good week!
I wonder if you have a backup plan for feeding if, for any reason, the robots go down? Will you be able to back your big feeder mixer into the new feeding station if need be? Exciting to watch you and your family's farm grow. Cheers 🇨🇦
loving the farm! its come along way since I started watching! this years updates are amazing! if your worried about falling off the silo you should get a 3M harness, the 3M protecta is what I use as a crane operator, grab a single and double leg tie off and a retractable metal style lanyard, look up some working at heights videos! heights kill more people yearly then any other incident in the construction industry, and its about going home before getting the job done, and the job should always be safe to get home! good luck buddy!
❤🤗 exciting times Eric. Love it when a project comes together. I trust your mum and dad enjoy Alaska, it's a place I have always wanted to visit. This project is really pulling the farm together, last thing on the list is a new shop with all the bells and whistles.
watching with interest on the progress of your improvements. looking forward to seeing it working. would like to hear your dad talking about herd management. keep up the good work.
Cows damaging things? I can't imagine that!🤣🤣 The little zaps will train them after a few times. Great video and explanation of that part of the system. The cows will learn to let the robots do their thing, after a few reminders. Dairy cattle can often be kept in with plastic twine if they have ever been zapped by poly wire. Not always, but enough of the time. Looking forward to seeing it up and running, Happy 60 to your Dad, and I hope they enjoy their trip!
I don't know how you can handle the height of the silos I am scared of heights and I'm glad somebody can do it and just be careful be safe and I'm glad everything's working out the way you and your dad would like it to be,, and thank you for taking your time and showing us a part of your day thank you again
Enjoy watching your content the best on UA-cam interesting my wife and I are currently in Alaska on a road trip. Love your updating on the farm we’re from Ohio
Just focusing not falling off the silo. Dairy farmer humor 😊
😂😂😂 When he said that I LOVED IT!
I thought I was gonna have to wait until the cows come home...
😂😂
Nice. 😂
LOL good one!
Happy birthday, Dad. Glad to see you getting away for vacation.
Happy birthday to your dad. Amazing how everything been changing over the years.
Happy 60th Birthday to your Dad and I hope they have a wonderful trip in Alaska!!! I cannot wait to see these things in action!!

Hard, honest work! I can’t imagine a city kid spending 14 days working on a dairy farm. One of the hardest jobs in the USA 🇺🇸
Happy birthday Dad.
You have a well thought out plan. As we watchers learn more about the side benefits it makes even more sense.
Happy birthday to your dad. The automatic feeding set-up is interesting to watch. Can't wait to see it in operation. Hope your Mom and Dad have a great trip. Stay safe.
This channel has Raw, Honest and to the point content as opposed to some other channels. And the subscriber numbers show why it is so popular.
Happy birthday to your dad! I also turned 60 this year but didn't do anything as epic as going to Alaska. That would be at the top of my bucket list. I hope they have a wonderful time!
With the new automated feeding I have to imagine those cows are going to be very happy.
OMG !!! This is exciting........can not wait to see this in action. Happy birthday to your dad.
Was sitting around looking for something to watch on my afternoon off and was like.... usually 10 Gen posts Mondays and here we are😂. Thanks Eric love your videos !!!
Happy B day to the 9th generation
Not falling off the silo is a wonderful plan!! Don't be concern about the video content!! God Bless!!! Happy 60th Birthday, Dennis! Enjoy Alaska!
Happy Birthday Dad. You deserve your trip to Alaska. Enjoy!! You have left your farm in good hands!! New feeder system looks awesome. ❤❤❤❤
You and your dad are lucky to have each other. Appreciate that as you age. It is a great video of team work.
Happy 60th to your dad. Sounds like a well deserved holiday. Speaking of which Eric, I haven't seen you taking a break any time in the last 3-4 years I have been following your channel. Any plans?
Happy Birthday Dennis and have a great vacation !! Great video Eric, keep the home fires burning while mom and dad are away.

Its going to be interesting to see how the new system works in the winter with snow and ice to contend with.
I was wondering how that was going to work myself. But I’ve watched this channel enough to know that they have a plan, and a backup plan, up their sleeves to deal with it. They should’ve put electric heat in all of the runways 😉
The same system is installed in Upstate NY, Iowa, WI etc with few problems.

@@ImOnAJourney I was thinking the same thing about heating the runways, then you could just set up cameras and monitor things.

You know, I was just thinking how funny it will be to watch Eric and Dad watching the bots do their thing! 😉😎
We came across your farm yesterday by accident. We're having a vacation here in Lancaster. Beautiful country!
A direct feed from the outdoor silos is sufficient. Right and left are already fed from the outside.
Extra cool stuff there Eric. Best wishes with the new feeding system. Progress! Now you’ll have a bit more time for scraping the barns. Next step may be an automated barn scraper. Love the video. Thanks for sharing your work life.
Happy birthday to your dad. Really enjoyed how the farm has progressed. Best wishes going forward.
Nice, a Eric fix....👨🌾😍🚜 thank you for taking us along...
This automation system is fascinating to watch being setup. Best of luck. Getting popcorn ready for future videos 😅
Just love new projects looking forward to the next one, thanks 😎
07:42 & no more bits of bunker plastic in the feed with the robots & tower silos 😂
HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎈🎉🎂🎁 POPS!! And the project is going nicely Eric! I’m impressed with those feeder’s. I was curious about what they would look like.
Awesome video Eric. Happy birthday dad. Hope you and mom enjoy your trip. Thank you
Always great video brother from the imperial county California 👍🇺🇲
Sharp looking haircut 👌
I think your new shop will be in your old bunker silo, since it already has a concrete floor.

Yep! Always thinking forward!
on the dry barn why not add a bit more onto the non feeding side and then put in a new feeding area and have it feeding both sides
Nice, hope that robot feeders will be more than worth it!
I always enjoy how patient and kind you are with the cows. Your dad and I are the same age. He's going to Alaska with mom. I bought a motorcycle (my first in 45 years). lol
Great video Eric. Tell your dad a happy birthday. Hope you have a great trip. Prayers for a safe flight.🙏
Hope your dad has a great birthday. Sounds like a great trip. Can't wait to see it all up and running. TAKE CARE AND STAY COOL !!!!

Well Happy Birthday Eric's dad, hope you have a good one and good vacation. The project for the robot feeding is really coming together. Good luck on the rest of it. Thanks for sharing, I hope you have a good week!
Reminds me of the tea cup ride at Disney!
Very cool system! Enjoying this series. Thanks!

Happy 60th to your Dad. Hope the Alaska trip turns out great.
Having “Wally” & “Wendy” do the feeding is quite the undertaking. Best wishes from AZ.
I've really enjoyed watching your farm grow and advance in technology. Keep it up!
Great vid! Love the progress of the robot system. Look forward to seeing that in action! HBD to your Dad!!

Happy 60th Birthday to your Dad. the robots are bigger than I thought they would be. Can you wait to see them in action. Have your kids name them.
Make sure those robots don’t have hidden chain guns! 😂. Great video! 🥰
Enjoy Alaska, you deserve some time off. Good job guys, didn't expect that those units were the mobile feeders, gasped when they moved!
Can't wait to see the finished project! Looks good 👍
The feeders look like 1950's Coke machine Robots serving the Jetsons! 21st Century comes to the farm! Blessings!
"I'm going to try not to work to hard, just keep the farm going." - contradictory statement
Happy 60th 9th GenDairyman.
Nice edit, Eric.

The quality and freshness of your feed will improve drastically
It's looking great. Can't hardly wait to see it all put together .🎉🎉
Happy birthday to your dad
This is like the Jetsons cartoon stuff to me! Man what’s next….really cool though
Gotta love it Eric. Try not to work too hard while dad is gone. Sure you will cut back to 19 hrs a day instead of 20 hrs.
Ok so much for the Alaska teaser Now you have to sit down with your dad when he comes home and have him talk about the trip
each day i check youtube to see if you have posted anything XD strage :D
Look into a lad-saf system for your silo ladders.
