This was the year I FINALLY admitted I not only can’t wear wool; I can’t work with it. I gave away my wool yarn and now only buy non-wool yarn. Luckily I can work with and wear alpaca, camel and cashmere. But silk and cotton, yes, please!

Girl… I found the miracle of power naps after 50. 15-20 are my go to. I can even do 10. And if you have problems relaxing, there’s a super cool technique I learned. Get comfy. Close your eyes empty your mind and mentally start at your toes and work your way up your body ONLY thinking about relaxing each joint slowly as you move up. Most of the time, you’re asleep before you make it to your chest. 😊 I’m also beyond excited for the new yarn!!!!🎉

Firstly, not a cult bc there is no one nefarious at the top with plans for control over others. Also, no one person or group is looking to collect all of the resources of its members. In fact, the idea that there is room for all is a lovely part of the community. Secondly SO EXCITED FOR THE YARN! I find locating a cotton and wool blend that is quality is often very difficult where I live. I am so looking forward to trying it and LOVE the colors!!!

Naps are essential for me with my tbi recovery. I nap for about half of my lunch break everyday. I'm convinced that's how I make it through my afternoons.

Love the fact you’ve created your own yarn. I do hope there’s lots of colours. Cotton and wool together is really interesting. I really enjoyed the shape changes in a blanket. I’m tired of creating squares and rectangles stripes. Someone is creative to use the triangle in such a unique way.
Well, if you leave the 'crochet cult' for something you like better OR find a different way to do something, you won't get shunned, shamed, or told, 'God's going to do away with you.' And different 'levels' of crocheters won't treat you like a mushroom - they're pretty happy to share their expertise and share their secrets to success. You inspired me to start crocheting again. I started a new projects I never thought I could do because I was rusty, but now I have a bunch of almost finished projects that will look amazing when done, eventually. One point you didn't mention, aside from any moralistic issues, is that like recipes, the only thing that is copyrightable in patterns are the actual text and photos. It is completely legal to look at a photo of something for which you cannot find a pattern and write a pattern for it and share that pattern. It is even perfectly legal to rewrite an existing pattern using your own words and photos and publish it (although that goes beyond my personal lines unless, I have devised a new technique that I am explaining in the text to accomplish it, and have added or subtracted something from said pattern to make it more pleasing and fun for me to make.) Every designer has to draw the line beyond that legal reality for themselves. (I very rarely follow a pattern without adapting it myself, so even writing a pattern based on something in that craft I see but can't find a pattern for doesn't really end up exactly like what I see) So the hundreds of granny square hat, cardigan, blanket patterns out there are all perfectly legal, unless someone copied and pasted from one pattern and is selling it or distributing it as their own.

Power nap yes! I am a certified restorative yoga teacher (learned from Judith Hanson Lasater) and I call it a restorative savasana. Around 20 minutes, so same as power nap, we just also position the body in a state of flexion for maximum comfort to invite ease. Lots of bolsters and blankets. Great for the brain and body!

Yeah, I can't use any animal fibers. I have the 1-2 punch of both skin sensitivity issues and a lanolin allergy

Firstly, not a cult bc there is no one nefarious at the top with plans for control over others. Also, no one person or group is looking to collect all of the resources of its members. In fact, the idea that there is room for all is a lovely part of the community.
Secondly SO EXCITED FOR THE YARN! I find locating a cotton and wool blend that is quality is often very difficult where I live. I am so looking forward to trying it and LOVE the colors!!!

Naps are essential for me with my tbi recovery. I nap for about half of my lunch break everyday. I'm convinced that's how I make it through my afternoons.

Love the fact you’ve created your own yarn. I do hope there’s lots of colours. Cotton and wool together is really interesting. I really enjoyed the shape changes in a blanket. I’m tired of creating squares and rectangles stripes. Someone is creative to use the triangle in such a unique way.

Well, if you leave the 'crochet cult' for something you like better OR find a different way to do something, you won't get shunned, shamed, or told, 'God's going to do away with you.' And different 'levels' of crocheters won't treat you like a mushroom - they're pretty happy to share their expertise and share their secrets to success. So far, I'm enjoying this 'cult'...And I LOVE your top!
You inspired me to start crocheting again. I started a new projects I never thought I could do because I was rusty, but now I have a bunch of almost finished projects that will look amazing when done, eventually. One point you didn't mention, aside from any moralistic issues, is that like recipes, the only thing that is copyrightable in patterns are the actual text and photos. It is completely legal to look at a photo of something for which you cannot find a pattern and write a pattern for it and share that pattern. It is even perfectly legal to rewrite an existing pattern using your own words and photos and publish it (although that goes beyond my personal lines unless, I have devised a new technique that I am explaining in the text to accomplish it, and have added or subtracted something from said pattern to make it more pleasing and fun for me to make.) Every designer has to draw the line beyond that legal reality for themselves. (I very rarely follow a pattern without adapting it myself, so even writing a pattern based on something in that craft I see but can't find a pattern for doesn't really end up exactly like what I see) So the hundreds of granny square hat, cardigan, blanket patterns out there are all perfectly legal, unless someone copied and pasted from one pattern and is selling it or distributing it as their own.

Power nap yes! I am a certified restorative yoga teacher (learned from Judith Hanson Lasater) and I call it a restorative savasana. Around 20 minutes, so same as power nap, we just also position the body in a state of flexion for maximum comfort to invite ease. Lots of bolsters and blankets. Great for the brain and body!
