As a Melodious enthusiast who tried to make them work since 2016, and don’t get me wrong, Melodious were underwhelming as an anime archetype within the competitive scene, but the potential was always there for them to be good.
Ostinato was Branded Fusion before Branded Fusion became Branded Fusion. I used to always mix and match Melodjous with other fusion based decks like Heroes, Fluffals, Branded, Shaddolls to decently good success in 20-22 player locals.
The new support merely gave the Melodious core a backbone and harnessed the potential that had always been there.
Melodious before Legacy of Destruction was also not too dissimilar to Horus. Underwhelming as a pure build, but the engine can be really effective in the right decks.
Very glad the representation they are seeing now has grown significantly.
I wouldn't consider myself an enthusiast, but I did play the deck a lot back when it was still Garbo lol. Finding out it was competitive brought me back into the game. It's like seeing a child all grown up imo.
