This is how I found Ghost . I have been listening to Morbid for a couple years and listened to this episode. I knew nothing about Ghost but listened to the episode and thought Tobias sounded intelligent and seemed like a cool guy . Then I came to UA-cam and heard / saw Rats . It was a wrap after that . I’m a Ghoul now .

OMG! He's obsessed with Jack the Ripper? Beyond that, he's knowledgeable about him!! I couldn't love Tobias more!

Same here! Did a project on Jack way back in grade school (went down really well with my classmates!), but freaked out the teacher a bit!! Gotta go back and dive in again! :-D

The Charles Allen Lechmere (or Cross) theory is absolutely fascinating. If innocent, he was the most unlucky human on Earth, somehow always managing to pass through the path of the killings on his usual work route. The fact that he insists to Robert Paul that they don't erect Nichols' body to check her further (which would risk her covered body revealing her eviscerated neck and abdomen), instead talking Paul into leaving the scene and finding a policeman, then for some reason giving a false surname to officer Mizen (he gave the surname "Cross"), then saying to him that there's another policeman waiting for Mizen down the road by the corpse (also telling Mizen "she's either dead or dead drunk"). People often say that it was extremely lucky for Lechmere that the 2nd officer (PC Neil) happened to be there at that point. My theory is that Lechmere had intimate knowledge of the routine police routes and timed his killings in between them.
Interesting facts about Lechmere. He fathered 12 children with his wife Elizabeth, and the surname he gave to Officer Mizen, "Cross", was the surname of one of his stepfathers - Thomas Cross. A normal practice at the time was naming your children after either yourself or one of your parents. Lechmere's biological father was named John Allen Lechmere. None of Charles' 12 children are named John, interestingly. I think he harbored a lot of animosity towards both of his parents, and particularly his father. His mother remarried at least twice after splitting up with John. I think Charles had a very traditional view of marriage and family, and that the only person he considered a father figure was Thomas Cross. He probably viewed his mother as a morally failing individual. The double killings of Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes happened on a Saturday (probably one of Charles' days off work) in close vicinity to his childhood home and where his mother lived. It's plausible that Charles visited his mom's house and something happened there that triggered his rage, fueling the double murder. The latter murder of Eddowes was more graphic in nature than that of Stride, possible suggesting that Lechmere was "dissatisfied with his work" on the first victim.
Charles Allen Lechmere is definitely the most likely Ripper candidate. He lived until December 23rd 1920, and there is a hauntingly eerie photograph of him taken in 1912.

That's one of the best TF interviews ever! I've noticed so many similarities between his interests and his way of thinking and mine, that I can't believe that I didn't know anything about him until my gf heard MOAC on tiktok😅

I always wonder how interviews get interviews lol What I mean is I know that somtimes they reach out through email and its profesisnl email if tehve dine multiole succesful interviews, somtimes its because of a friend of a friend. Or they meet them on concert and they agree to a short interview but idk how that starts

The fangirling was cringy af, even more than the subway story. You could tell from the beginning that he sounded tired. He even had to ask you "do you have any questions?". CRINGE.

If you look at other interviews (where he's being himself), Tobias is a very awkward person to interview. Ash and Alaina are speaking with him as an equal in terms of knowledge and interest in a subject. Especially with the Jack the Ripper story, both parties had done their research on the topic.
Besides that, everyone is allowed to be excited about someone they admire. They aren't CRINGE just because they're enjoying an actual conversation with him. If I was them, I would be thrilled talking to Tobias Forge about a subject we both did extensive research into. It makes the interview better for it.

@@OneFlagFlyinggreat post. I agree I’ve watched a few interviews where the questions to Tobias are very rigid and then Tobias becomes awkward and it doesn’t flow. The best interviews are like this where the interviewer lets Tobias talk freely and they also interact with him about his interests and music and have knowledge in the lore and music of Ghost .
This interview is great I really enjoyed it .
