A Beautiful New Species Surprises Me | Apalachee Shiner | Florida Panhandle Microfishing

- My first spot of the day produced a beautiful Apalachee shiner (Pteronotropis grandipinnis) mixed in with a bunch of weed shiners (Notropis texanus). I didn't have high hopes for this spot once I saw it, but I was happy to land a couple species during this short fishing session.

Love your videos. I took a year off visiting America but they’ve inspired me to head back in April next year. Not sure I can stretch it to a Florida visit, think I would never wanna leave. Fished there a decade ago but wasn’t into micro / species hunting then.
Nice. Florida is awesome for fishing, but so much of the US has so many different species to catch. What parts are you looking at visiting?
1:15 something busts on bait in lower center... lol.. nice work on the apalachee for sure
Thank you.
Yes, you are pronouncing Apalachee correctly. 👍 I am suprised you aren't catching immature black bass and sunfish. You are in trophy bass territory for sure.
Thanks. I didn't target those fishes, but I do remember seeing some sunfish in this creek.
you didn't gain an hour. lmao
I sure did. Then I lost an hour driving back the other way a few days later lol
