"The collection is a study of femininity. We looked at erotica. Vargas girls, cages, corsets and crinolines and the idealisation of the female form. Nothing is set in a particular period. It's about sensuality and skin but not nudity. We also wanted to express lightness, for the clothes almost to hover over the women who wear them." Sarah Burton
This season sees the return of a heritage silhouette. Wasp waists and a constructed hip exaggerate a feminine silhouette. Signature tailored jackets are layered over jewelled, moulded resin bustier tops and sheer, mid-calf length honeycomb pencil skirts, or cropped panelled trousers. A play between covering the body and discreetly exposing it is seen throughout as the transparent is juxtaposed with the opaque and garments peel away from necklines and shoulders. Lightness is paramount: intricately woven jacquards, lacquered lace and laser cut patent leather hover over silk organza. Cages, corsets and crinolines in various incarnations are worn as underpinnings or as finished, elaborately embellished pieces in their own right. Every aspect of the foundation garment and the transformation of the body that is a hallmark of the house of Alexander McQueen is explored.

I love that Sarah is able to take every aspect of her muse for that season and be inspired by everything ie. inspired by everything with bees from color, to body shape, to what they eat and make, also where they live, shes amazing!

Sarah is a great creative director of the firm, but this collection is definitely one of the best since the death of Lee. Geometrics cuts and prints, are the basis for this fresh collection. Congratulations Sarah Love U. "God Save McQueen".

Juuuust pushes the edge of being too literal with the bee references but who doesn't love a bee reference? Wish I wasn't such a no-neck monster, I would wear the shit out of those resin collars. Great show, amazing skills.
Stunning, as usual. I always know a McQueen show wont disapoint. I like the Southern feel of the hoop skirts in the finale gowns.

The Alexander McQueen Fashion Shows are incredible, beautiful, with artistry and staging that is spectacular. The women models are unique, with facial expressions and body characteristics lean, thin and trim. Some seem as if they are starving, and it isn't worth starving for a minute on the catwalk; eat more. The shows are delightful, entertaining and constantly surprising. The fashions and cloths adorning the women are amazing, beautiful, charming and unique. An achieving. The male models and fashions are masculine, acceptable and contribute to the shows aesthetics. Thanks for sharing and the camera work appreciable.
Me watching this in November in 2019 is jealous cuz i really want one of those heroine top handles, and i know Lady Gaga has one too.

Love it!!!!! Unfortunately, what has came out recently can not rival this collection, that of Autumn/Winter 2011 and Spring 2011. I am guessing it has to do with McQueen's death. Since then the brand has been losing it's b'ada' boom!!!

kind of bored now when the models were being covered by headpieces. This happened for a few seasons already and I hope Sarah could move forward for next main season collection!

some of the models look stiff , i love how the collection is insprired by bees b-cuz they're so important to the environment
it wasn't the greatest collection but it wasn't bad. I liked the hats and the accessories but after seeing so many of them; I felt redundant. the last dresses looked like piñatas or weeding cakes and the light yellow is not bee related.
