Love love love this gorgeous tutorial! I love remaking old/eBay clothes over! Thanks I always wanted to know how to under stitch
Best hood tutorial hands down. Thank you.
Great I need to do this on my Barbour jacket. I really miss having a hood.
This is immensely helpful as an amatuer seamstress looking to just alter existing clothes for a costume rather than having to find the -perfect- jacket or get it custom made for ten times the price. Thank you ever so much for the instructions!
Glad it was helpful!
Great job! Amazing!
This was so helpful! I love this. I’m trying to make myself this cape pattern and bemoaned the lack of hood. Now I’ve got great instructions for making it how I want it to be.
Thanks! The only useful thing I could do to help my wife sew a hood on her dress was find this video. :)
Glad I found this (not sure how I missed it before ) as I do need to add a hood to a couple of jackets 👍👍
Thank you for this video tutorial.
Hi TY! New subbie just what I needed!
Making custom cosplay BC it's to expensive online is hard so this kinda helps
❤️just found u and subscribed. This is a terrific tutorial ..inspirational and beautifully and clearly explained.thanks so much for taking time to teach us how .x
How wonderful plus a big thank you for your sincere explanation
Thank you 🙂
Thank you for posting this, it was really helpful and easy to follow.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the feedback. Let me know if there's any other tutorials you'd like to see on my channel. I'm always open to ideas and requests.
I love the silver sequins. Makes me think of girly chainmail! ^_^ My little girl's hood is like her armor so I can't wait to try this with the same material.
I love that! ❤😍
Nice job.
Thanks 🙂
I love this idea. Just need to find a basic hood pattern to customise now.
Most of the pattern companies do hooded jacket or cape patterns. Check the costume sections too - I've found a variety of hood patterns on capes there in the past.
Really enjoyed your re-style of the jacket.
Nice clean say off collar and easy on hood.

New subscriber.
Can you also leave the collar on the jacket ?
Super helpful. Thanks!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching 💗
You had me at sequins - lol ♡
Can you still add a hood and keep the collar
I've been thinking about this and the best way I can think of to do it is to make the hood and finish all the edges, then machine or hand stitch it to the jacket along the seam where the collar meets the jacket.
Next time you no need to remove collar you can attach your hoodie with ring prongs buttons or sewing on collar bean
Good job 💕
Nice video though I prefer a hood with the jacket collar still intact.
You can make it that way if you prefer. The idea of all my tutorials is that you can adapt them to suit your own style 🙂
Very smart sewing skin irritating sequin to the inside instead of sewing/serging fabrics together as 1 exposed seam laying against the neck ...
this is epic
Nice but do all hood have the same size
No, you can make the hood larger or smaller to suit what you're making.
Gonna sew that to my lab coat
But less shiney
i have the same sewing machine! singer 99k!
I hear that you have to cut the sequins away from the seems (or break needles). How did you get around that? Also, what type of material did you use for the lining? What type of needle? Thanks in advanced. Sorry I'm a couple years late. New to this.
I've never had a problem sewing these micro sequins (I think they're 3mm) without removing them from the seams. I use a standard needle in a size 80 / 12 and just sew a little slower than I would normally. When I use sequin fabric with larger sequins I tend to remove them. You can also press the seams open easily with micro sequins - just use a pressing cloth over the sequins or they'll melt and stick to the iron. I use silk organza for this so I can still see what I'm pressing. I used a polyester satin for the lining of this hood. Hope that helps. Happy sewing 💓
@@RockstarsandRoyalty THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!
Looks like a sparkly condom 👌👍 good job
The only comment she didn't heart lol
Aye
Did u cut on the fold
The fabric is folded with the right sides together, but the hood is cut as 2 separate pieces that are stitched together (2 pieces each for the outside fabric and lining fabric).
hey your video is absolutely stunning but the music annoying..
Thanks for the feedback. I made this video ages ago and no longer use as much music in my videos.
