  • If you are planning to visit Friuli Venezia Giulia, a region in North East of Italy, here you’ll find the best tips on things to do in this wonderful land, with a view on the most relevant points of interest to enjoy, so you can easily imagine and organize your trip: WHAT to see, HOW to plan your visit, and WHY to discover Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Friuli Venezia Giulia is a region whose territory, in just under 8 thousand square kilometers, traces the coordinates of a nerve center of European geography, which has always been a crossroads of destinies and people, capable of rewarding its tourists with the wealth of a territory that surprises from every angle.
In my tour we’ll discover Trieste, Miramare and Duino Castle, Grado, Aquileia, Palmanova, Gorizia, Cividale del Friuli, Udine, Montasio upland, Fusine and Predil Lakes, Venzone, Spilimberto, Valvasone, San Vito al Tagliamento and Sacile.
So, not only breathtaking views but also art pearls such as the elegant and discreet cities of Friuli Venezia Giulia that have traveled the world, listened to different languages, known distant cultures and religions. To understand this, just look at the Audace pier from Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia in Trieste, or walk simultaneously in Italian and Slovenian territory in the Transalpina square of Gorizia. Thus Trieste wore Habsburg "clothes", Udine became the city of Tiepolo, Gorizia took the name of "Austrian Nice", Pordenone oscillates between Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic influences. forgotten two UNESCO jewels such as Cividale del Friuli and Aquileia. Moreover, history lovers will be able to visit the FVG, discovering the itineraries on the traces of the Great War, whose centenary is remembered.
Moving along the coast, the sea of Friuli Venezia Giulia contains many proposals in one. It is the ideal tourist destination for all families, thanks to the certification of accommodation facilities and to a welcome program created specifically for the needs of children and their parents. At the same time, the FVG summer dances to the exciting rhythms of the glamor Lignano Sabbiadoro, relaxes in the silence and calm of the Grado lagoon, breathing in the maritime cadences of the fishermen of Marano Lagunare.
Experiencing the mountains of Friuli Venezia Giulia, on the other hand, is an authentic experience of immersion in an unspoiled and protected place, where you can practice all kinds of sports in summer and winter. How not to mention the splendid Friulian Dolomites, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and the Julian and Carnic Alps, between which valleys designed by greenery creep. Natural border of the regional territory, the alpine chains guard villages of rare beauty such as, for example, Sauris, Poffabro and Pesaris.
Moreover, the spearhead of Friuli Venezia Giulia has always been the food and wine tradition, because here each dish is made unique by the genuineness of local products.
Territory, cuisine and history mix to give a unique touch.

Hello Luigi, I just discovered this video today and have subscribed. My mother was born in Cormons (Friuli) in 1928. Her mother was Austrian and from just over the border near Villach. I am 53 and love this region and hope to retire there in a few years. I have added some new towns to my list of places to visit like Valvasone, Sacile, and S. Vito. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Grazie mille!

Thanks for the positive feedback Rob! Yes, retreating to Friuli can be an excellent choice: the region is beautiful and the people are welcoming and friendly. In my channel you can find about ten videos on different places of interest in Friuli, including videos dedicated to the cities you mentioned. Soon!

Ciao Gregorio, UA-cam riconosce gli utenti che lo usano in italiano e, così come ti mostra i sottotitoli in italiano, allo stesso modo ti mostra il titolo in italiano. Un saluto

    How to spot a Italian/European:
The mention the view in front of the castle, but not the actual castle, hahah.
You guys are so used to it that have no idea how crazy people in other continents are about castles. For us, it represents fantasy, magic, history, love, a hundred things, that's why Disney's world also has castles.
It's weird that you are making touristic suggestions for foreigners and only talk about the view, while the castle is 100 times more interesting for us, haha. You would probably feel the same if you came to Brazil and i introduced you to a old-looking statue instead of the paradisaical beach across the street.
But i'm not criticizing you, don't get me wrong. It's just a funny cultural shock.

Thank you Pedro for you suggestions. I had made some clips of the interiors, but then during the video-editing phase I excluded them from the video synthesis. Next time I will consider your advice, certainly valid! Bye Pedro and say hello to brazil for me!
